WHERE was this $15?! I want this SO bad! How much was Horton, too? And if your old copy of The 40 Year Old Virgin (the one that you're giving away) has a slipcover, feel free to send it my way
A) A Canadian store chain called HMV.
B) Horton was a Christmas gift but HMV's website say that gift set is also $15 right now
C)The Virgin to be given away is the 2005 Unrated Widescreen version. That DVD had no slipcover but had an obnoxiously shiny regular cover.

A) Oh man, now I wish I lived in Canada.
B) (see above reply)
C) That's the exact one I have.

My first Blu-Ray purchases of the new year.
The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Blu-Ray) - 19.99 I had to return this disc for another since they somehow put the DVD disc in instead of the blu ray disc.
WALL-E (2 Disc Blu Ray) 19.99

My first DVD purchases of 2009 were from Saturday Matinee (aka FYE, they are the same company, same prices, etc), where I have been spending LOTS of my time and money since FYE and Saturday Matinee in my mall are closing (they are both in the mall), due to the fact that there is an FYE directly outside of the mall, so they are shipping over their products to that FYE. Of course they are trying to sell stuff too so there's not that much to ship, so they are having a 50% off sale. So today I went and picked up:
The New Adventures of Old Christine: Season 2 $19.99. I really love this show and was eager to get season 2. Disc 4 had some sketchy fingerprints on it, despite the fact that it was shrinkwrapped and had all the security tape on it. Hmm. No biggie though, I just wiped the sketchy fingerprints off and it's all good.
Horton Hears a Who!: 2 Disc Special Edition w/ Digital Copy $17.49
I had really wanted to see this movie since it came out but never got around to it. I mainly wanted to see/buy it because Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell, and Amy Poehler are in it and I LOVE them.

Christmas gifts:

Got to exchange this one as I already have it.
After Christmas gifts to myself, or, the DVDs I wanted for Christmas but no one got them for me. Darn you Santa!
The single disc
X-Files: I want to Believe was only $10 at Walmart and HMV. Great price considering it just came out on DVD last month.

Got everything else X-Files, including The Lone Gunmen series, so I had to add the new movie to the collection.

Weeds: Season 1 $12.99 at Target (REPLACEMENT because my old one got DESTROYED when I lent it out to my friends)

Dan, why didn't you get it at Target for $19.99? My brother picked this one up and I may steal it from him to watch. I'm kicking myself because I didn't pick up S1 of HIMYM. I've seen it on sale a lot for $14.99 though, so hopefully it will be on sale again soon.

Yuck. I may give it another chance someday but you know....that's the very first film I ever walked out on. That's coming from a fan of those two as well!

Uh - oh.

I didn't really mind spending the $17.50 because I generally spend around that much for a ticket ($10.50), and popcorn ($4) and soda ($3) - yes, the theater by me is VERY expensive. I hope I like it, but now I have my doubts because I am also a fan of those two - as well as Talladega Nights.

A) Sorry about causing doubts but Luke liked it and it really should be up to you to see if you enjoy it. I assumed you had seen it, so put in a small comment on my experience with the film.
B) My theater beats yours in outrageousness of Pop & Popcorn prices but is about a dollar cheaper with ticket prices.

In my opinion this movie was a lot better than Talladega Nights. So if you enjoyed it, you should like this one.
And those ticket prices are kind of high. My local theater is $5 before 6pm, and $7.50 after. Although your popcorn/drink prices are a lot better than our theater. I usually just buy a movie ticket when I go...
