Are they pushing it back? Or rather reversing the decision to bring it forward?

Here's the trailer in HD. The terrible colors aside, just look at all the clarity. The sharp lines and the clearly identifiable Bambi's mother at the beginning (the same bit of animation used in Sword in the Stone, Jungle Book and Rescuers). Even if the colors are bad, which I hope they're not, we can at least expect a major boost in PQ. If you can see the difference on YouTube, then you'll definitely notice it on Blu.

I'll be upgrading since I already sold my VHS tape in anticipation of this Blu release (never upgraded to DVD).

I may be opening a can of worms here, but I couldn't help but think of the whole color controversy when I was recently presented with a drawing I did based on a production still way back after seeing the film in the theater, but before it was available on home video . . .

And wow, does it lean toward the DVD that came out how many years later. Not that I expect anyone to take this seriously of course (this is just fanart of a 15-year-old) but at the very least I find it amusing.

Wow, I could draw at 15, but I never did anything of that caliber! :jawdrop:

I thought it was in October, while Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 would be around March or May this year? :?

that was posted a couple months ago. We are clearly not getting it in March.

ok...a few things:

1) Is it me or that trailer is just plain awful?? Everything is pasted together in a such un-inspired manner...all the songs mish-mashed into the next...

2) As far as visuals go...seems like they have taken all the darkness away from it. Like they have added brightness to all the backgrounds so everything can be seen clearly. But... wasnt the castle supposed to be dark and scary??? Oh lord, what kinda mess will they do to the colors this time..

At least I hope its not cropped like the DVD, and its the original aspect ratio...

That trailer looks afwul!

And really cheap, to say the least.
This is what I mean by sequelish, it basically looks like some sort of computergame.

NOT like a Disney classic anymore.

Before this topic gets derailed, I'll say that none of the PE/DE trailers have fully represented the films they advertise. True, this is a CAPS film, but I'm witholding judgement until I see more.

I wasn't surprised by the trailer, either.

But I wonder what the bonus features will be.

Hi, sorry, but I'm very confused. Assuming Beauty and the Beast is still getting a diamond release, when is it happening? If it's this spring, I'm extremely surprised to not have heard a single thing advertising it yet. And if it's not this spring, what is coming out in it's place? Thanks very much!

Hi there. Don't apologize.

Unfortunately I can't tell you when the Diamond Edition will be released, but there's already been some trailers for the new edition on the "Snow White Diamond Edition" and other recent Disney dvd's (correct me if I'm wrong here, guys). I'm just as eager to know more about it as you are.

According to the german trailer, which was on the Snow White Blu-ray, it's coming this fall!

You'd think the German trailer would have the German dubbed voices in it. :?

Yes, I don't know what they were thinking.
I guess the trainee who picked the audio track out of the archives, has taken some of Alice's mushrooms before.

I don't see the problem with the trailer. To me it loos very Disney classic like. I also don't know what you guys are talking about the color for. To me it looks very beautiful. It is colorful and bursting with life. This is what a lot of Disney trailers should be like. I don't see why you don't like it. I am thinking of getting it. It looks beautiful to me.

Only the singing voices are in English the speaking voices are in German.

Right, but that's strange enough. Disney did never mixing different dubs before and it does not make sense, that they did now.
