Everyone PLEASE stop listing what each princess wanted or no...It's getting mighty repetitive

Ariel'sprince, I think Tiana just happens to get her prince in the same way Belle and Rose did. Not that "being a parade queen isn't enough for her".

That said, the movie still won't be out for a good year and a half. All this speculation seems a little early

its funny if she was an all western black princess..id still rather have an african black princess. or maybe she is from a fictional kingdom like the one in 'coming to america'.

depending if chicken little/dinosaur/the wild are considered to be part of the classic cannon, in Europe they are just independent disney, but as far as America goes I believe you are right!

Why wouldn't Chicken Little be part of the animated feature's canon?

Chicken Little and The Wild are part of the Disney Animated Classics canon in the UK and Ireland at least. Dinosaur is not. Apart from The Wild, the canon is the same as in the US.

Does it really matter? I don't think there is such canon,I whouldn't consider Chicken Little a classic.

It still says "Disney's Xth Animated Classic" on the DVD covers in UK/Ireland, and the DVDs often include booklets with the numbered canon asking "Which one are you missing?" So the canon's very much alive and well here. (Though I agree with you on Chicken Little. And for some reason The Wild is in the canon over here...)

Since the US no longer have an official canon and the UK include The Wild in it, I decided to create my own canon consisting of all feature films made by Walt Disney Feature Animation/Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, in chronological order. I think it's the most logical solution.

In France, all Animated Classics, along with live-action/animation hybrids, most DTV sequels and Pixar films, are considered canon. Here's the full list:

From what I can tell, only "Belle's Magical World", "Stitch! The Movie", "Leroy & Stitch", "Atlantis: Milo's Return", "Tarzan & Jane" and "Hercules: Zero to Hero" aren't canon.

*Shudders* Cinderella II in the same series as films created by Walt Disney...It doesn't bear thinking about...

By calling the film "The Princess and the Frog", it makes it closer to actually being based on an old fairy tale. "The Princess and the Frog" is an alternate name for "The Frog Prince" (evidenced by dressing one of the girls on America's Next Top Model like the heroine in "The Princess and the Frog" while other girls were characters from other familiar fairy tales like "Cinderella" and 'Sleeping Beauty"). By being based partly on "The Frog Prince", it keeps closer to the tradition of making animated classics based on familiar fairy tales as opposed to making new ones.

When? She dreamed of a better life in the beginning, then going to the ball which would be "completely wonderful" when she got her invitation, and then she wanted the prince when she found out he loved her (and that he was a prince) but that's just like Ariel or Belle, not dreaming of a prince more than them. Are you thinking of when she got a dreamy look on her face when she found out he was a prince and loved her? Ariel acted similarly with Mr. statue.

Well,I agree with Julian and I don't think there is a canon,I only incould Walt Disney Feature Animation 2-D films and Enchanted (Of course).
Anyway we"re getting off-topic,what the villain will be like?.

If I remember correctly, I also included Ariel in that list. And I don't recall Belle ever dreaming of a prince.

As for the villain, he has potential. The story info. mentioning him makes me think of Jafar.

So, I've got a question.
I was skimming through the TV Movie (German TV guide) this weekend, when I found an article about the upcoming Dicney and Pixar movies. There was an image of Tiana, unlike any I've seen before. And yet, I'd seen it before in a different way. Here's the pic:



So the question is: Why is she white? It's clearly the picture we've all seen before. And who altered it to present the white Tiana? Was it Disney or TV Movie?

TV Movie did mention Tiana will be the first black heroine... Even though it had a spelling error.

Any thoughts?

I don't think she looks white. If you look closely, you'll see that all colors on that image are exaggerated and not consistent with the same images we saw earlier (especially the one from "Up!").

I just go off the list on wikipedia... it only counts the disney animated classics, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Meet the Robinsons.

I have the original (well, the newer version) of that picture as my desktop background, and I zoomed the magazine picture to 800%, and I compared the two. The colors are a little off on the magazine scan, due to whatever reasion. Tiana does look light in the picture, but the picture could have just been printed lighter overall than the original picture. I highly doubt that Disney would make Tiana white after announcing that she'll be the first African American heroine.

Well you did list Ariel, but I was saying Cinderella dreamed of a prince just as much as them...and if Belle didn't dream of one, I meant Cinderella didn't either because she only did as much as them. But actually Belle dreamed of a prince more than either of them. Her favorite part of the book she was reading was when the heroine "meets Prince Charming" and mentions "a prince in disguise" as part of why she loves books, and what she wants to happen to her, and it's no secret that the movie's about how she dreams of experiencing what she loves in her books, and eventually does find it as the movie becomes about enchantment, a castle, and a prince charming in disguise.

You also mentioned Aurora as one who didn't dream of a prince. When she keeps saying "my dream prince"...um, yea, she was dreaming of a prince. It is to her credit that she discarded her dream prince for a real, ordinary man (who possibly was just like the one in her dreams), and even wanted him instead of a prince she was betrothed to. She certainly didn't know the stranger was a prince as she thought she could never marry one until she discovered she was a princess.

As for Jasmine...Aladdin wasn't really a prince, she made him one...

The villain is a guy? I thought it's a witch,anyway this even better but does anyone knows something about him?.
