Hey, no worries! Whatever the situation, the lady shouldn't start hitting out at UltimateDisney members like that and should be taught to value their most dedicated, passionate customers. Very unprofessional and foolish, especially as you were polite, as you say!
Someone has to care about their products for them...

Oh, yes, ALL 78 1/2 hour episodes of Zorro in black & white AND all 4 one hour "Walt Disney Presents" Zorro episodes in b/w (maybe that is the Treasure set) plus extras - - and maybe the two Zorro compilation features (Sign of Zorro/Zorro the Avenger)!
>>How much original animation was done for the Disneyland/Wonderful World of color series? Is it really possible to get it all out there?<<
I once counted up about 88 solid episodes of Disneyland/WD Presents/Wonderful World of Color/Disney involving animation, pre-1980 era. This could be a set of its own.

Not to worry...tomorrow is February 1...if Maltin is aware of a replacement program for More Silly Symphonies...and it begins in March...we're pretty doggone close to having Customer Service brought up to speed on the program.
Nevertheless, I repeat my questions: How is it that "lost footage" surfaces only a few weeks following release of the DVDs? How is it that a studio spends months putting a TREASURES collection together and uses the wrong masters and leaves off titles?
If a little more care and expert auditioning were used, we might not have all these "replacement programs" annoying customers and Customer Service alike.
If Maltin's not on site for Quality Control, then Disney needs the likes of a Jerry Beck.
I could see stuff slipping through the cracks if they were being cranked out like Big Macs...but...yearly!?!

Uncle Ed...
If you read Customer Service the part that said "
Leonard Maltin has also passed along to us some certain and positive news regarding the recently-released Treasures 'toon collection More Silly Symphonies..."
maybe LM is on the s**t-list at Disney <especially if he's been 86'd from TREASURES!>.

Please see my posts under the thread TV ANIMATION - THE WALT DISNEY YEARS to give you a near complete listing of the original animation done for the Disney anthology TV series during Walt's time.
Sorry, didn't realize UncleEd had posted the original question!!

You know, many were speculating that this would be the case, so I guess its now official?

IMHO, this is a vague answer to a leading question:
You know, what they're doing is that they're putting out now what they're calling the Walt Disney Legacy Collection. That's sort of the replacement collection, I guess, to the Treasures.

Who knows... even from his wording in that article, there's never really a definitive "OMG they're cancelled!!!!" statement.
It's incredibly irritating, this entire thing. According to the Digital Bits (who I find reliable, usually), apparently someone who got a response from a letter to Mr. Cook, and the Disney's own customer service (wouldn't count for much on their own, I know, but they're not the only ones we've heard it from so far) the Treasures are continuing. According to Mr. Maltin and this guy, the Treasure "don't seem to be continuing". It may be that when that interview was conducted, the Treasures
were slated for cancellation, but the recent internet backlash reversed it in the past few days.
Personally, I'm gonna give it a bit more time before I give up on getting any more Treasures.

Agreed!
Certainly don't give up on the TREASURES!
It will be an entire year before the next 'Wave' is released. A helluva lot can happen in a year!
It's not worth another thought (or thread) until a street date is announced for either Legacy or Treasures.
This Yes-No-Yes-No-Yes-No is for the birds.

Yeah, which makes it all the more confusing.

You don't have tell me, I've been following this like crazy!
I'm reallly hoping, that's the case. That they were cancelled, (when that interview was taken) and because of all the writing/petitions, they decided to bring it back.
Anythings possible right now!

Time to put away the Depends and relax and enjoy Wave 6.
I'm still going through Silly Symphonies Volume One.

Dave Bossert's comments couldn't be anymore vague. We certainly haven't got any clarification from him.

How about this, from someone else, then: "I can assure you though, sadly, the series is over." - Leonard Maltin, Wednesday night.
I don't know why WDHV customer service people are saying otherwise (unless they're considering the Legacy Collection taking over for the Treasures as still the Treasures), neither does Leonard Maltin. But I'll take his word over a grammatically-incorrect form reply any day.
If something were to change over the past few days to make the Treasures go on, you think Maltin would be the first to know, or at least would be informed better than the middle-America customer service people. He's not merely some on-screen introduction-recorder; he is the series' producer and it makes no sense for customer service people to have information that he doesn't. The only things I can think of at this point is that the news hasn't made it to the customer service people yet or their responses are some kind of corporate get-them-to-stop-emailing/calling spin. Or that the Treasures would go without Maltin, but that doesn't seem feasible. In any event, none of those three possibilities are cheery.

So, by Wednesday, do you mean Today or a week ago? If it's the latter, it's still possible the cancellation was only turned around in the last few days.
Still pretty depressing, though... and the series is
so close to being complete, to. Most of the other stuff can be released in the Legacy Collection, but the remaining Donald; and possibly the leftover rarities/educational stuff really should be released in the Treasures.
Still, though, The Digital Bits seems pretty confident that the Treasures will go on... and you'd think they'd have a source higher up than the customer service people to make them so sure. They've been in the game a while, after all, and are well-known for having good information.
