Lots of catching up to do, but the most recent purchases include:
Hüsker Dü - Zen Arcade and
Candle Apple Grey - The seminal post-punk band's third and penultimate studio albums from 1984 and 1986 respectively.
Beck - Modern Guilt - This is a bit of a new sound for the ever-changing Beck Hansen. Produced by the very-busy Danger Mouse, he's gone all psychedelic on us. I honestly didn't recognise the first 'single' "Chemtrails" as Beck!
Albert Hammond Jr - ¿Como Te Llama? - Strokes guitarist releases his second solo album. Listening to it as I type this! Looking forward to seeing him in Sydney next month!

George Carlin - Carlin on Campus (Amazon MP3) (Free)
The whole album is only 1 track and 89 cents...then I remembered I had a few Pepsi Points that I could use for it.

Ray J - All I Feel: 13.88 at Walmart
I don't usually shop at WalMart, but I wanted the edited version of Ray J's CD, and it was $19.99 at FYE and there's no way I would pay $19.99 for a 13 track CD. I really love the new single on that album (it's called Gifts)
Katy Perry - One of the Boys: 8.72 at Walmart
I was on my way to the register in the electronics dept in Wal Mart and I saw this CD for only $8.72. I hadn't planned on buying it, but it was so cheap I figured I'd try it, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really like her new single Hot N Cold. The song Ur So Gay is immature but funny, and (believe it or not), it's quite catchy. Even if you're sick and tired of I Kissed a Girl like me and everybody else, the rest of the album is great.
Leona Lewis - Spirit: $9.99 at Best Buy
Although I can't stand Bleeding Love, I really like this album. My favorites on here are Better in Time (the new single), I Will Be, Forgive Me, Misses Glass, Yesterday, and Take a Bow. Whatever It Takes is OK.
Various Artists - Now 28: $11.03 at Big Y (lol)
I was surprised at how recent the songs are, so I bought it!

Sorry, but this brings up the rhetorical question: Why would anyone want the edited version of anything?

Love, love, love the Carpenters. They have written some of the most beautiful music of the 20th century and Karen's voice is one-of-a kind.

Received it yesterday and managed to listen to most of it last night. It's a fantastic live album, capturing the final performance of her 1958 nightclub act at the Cocoanut Grove. Judy performs a lot of her familiar material plus some seldom-recorded bits like "When the Sun Comes Out" and "Purple People Eater" (!). The orchestra is lovely and the sound quality is very crisp. I'd recommend it to any Judy fan.
