I'm undecided about buying the 2-Disc Blu-ray or the 3-Disc Blu-ray or just renting (as I haven't seen it yet). Is the third disc JUST the digital copy or is there more on it? Thanks.

http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/10/28/dis ... omination/Disney Pushes WALL-E For Best Picture Nomination
This week Disney will launch a campaign to get WALL-E nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, an award never won by an animated film. Only one animated film has ever had the honor to be nominated in the Best Picture category, Disney’s 1991 film Beauty and the Beast. The Academy launched a Best Animated feature category in 2001, which has complicated matters for end of the year Award campaigns.
A film can be nominated for both Best Picture and Best Animated Feature, but pushing for the big award could split votes. In other words, Academy members might not vote for WALL-E in both categories, and the Best Picture push could result in a loss for the Best Animated Feature category. Walt Disney Studios Richard Cook tells the New York Times: “If we didn’t do it, I don’t think we’d be giving the movie its due.” Thanks to /Film reader Wall-E Plays Pong for the tip.
Sadly it is that way, but I firmly believe in a few years we will see both Disney and Pixar producing successes every year; the goal everyone is after right now. We are just in the "waiting" portion of this big plan. Bolt is step one and Princess and the Frog and step two. It just seems rocket-y because we aren't getting much feedback as to how the films are progressing. Thus we assume the worst when we hear someone getting fired or moved to a different project.Julian Carter wrote:I guess I over-reacted, magicalwands. For the record, I love Wall-E. It's just that Walt Disney Animation Studios always seems to be in the shadows of its cousin Pixar.
The thing that got WALL-E to be so memorable was the teaser trailer. I was WALL-E for Halloween and every time I said "Wahhh-lee" how he did in the trailer, people said it was spot on. This shows how smartly marketed the trailer was for WALL-E, saying nothing throughout the trailer until the last moment...his name. It is just so simple, people caught on and remembered it.Julian Carter wrote:Yet, even in such a scenario, I bet it will get less attention than Wall-E.
I agree. When you look at Shrek, and any Dreamworks humans for that matter, the characters look so boring against MTR. Everyone is so carefully stylized in MTR. If you look at Shrek nowadays, it looks really bad...very unrealistic. But, I blame the Academy Awards for being dumb (as always) and not giving MTR a nomination.Julian Carter wrote:...I think Meet the Robinsons is one of the most beautiful-looking CG films made so far).

Your right and I quite agree its a normal plant as you saidlittlefuzzy wrote:Not to be rude, or anything, butdisneyboy20022 wrote:It has just come to my attention via my Dad....that he made an observation during Wall-E (just tonight he told me this...quite random myself having autism and he has it too anyway) and I didn't realize it until now....now that "plant" that Wall-e is holding.....does that not look like an Illegally grown plant that if is grown in the USA and the cops find out you go to Jail..aka Pot...Weed..I mean it does have three leaves on the plant in the flower pot it is in...![]()
The plant is just a regular plant sprouting, it might even be a bean sprout like kids grow in science class.
There were about 4 separate leaves on the plant, each one was "teardrop" or "arrowhead" shaped (an oval, broad at the base, coming to a point.)
They look NOTHING like a marijuana leaf. That has a single "frond" of about 7 long, skinny serrated leaves.
Do a Google image search for Wall-E plant and then marijuana and you will see there is a huge difference.
I think "Captaining the Axiom" is one of the BNL shorts. Not sure about the other three. I don't see them listed on Pixar Planet's list of the bonus features either, though.Escapay wrote: But that still leaves four featurettes that aren't present: "Captioning the Axiom", "Trash Planet", "Truck Tour", and "Pixar's First Live-Action Shoot". Could these be on a store-exclusive bonus disc? (God, I hope not). Or maybe they're easter eggs. I'd rather it be the latter.

Just confused. To what film are you referring by "forerunner"? Ratatouille, or Beauty and the Beast?TM2-Megatron wrote:It's been 17 years since an animated feature was nominated for Best Picture, and WALL•E is a better film than its forerunner; we need another one to remind people that animation should be taken seriously, too.
