Great review on Ducktales, Luke. I've been debating for the longest time on whether or not to get his because I never actually watched the show when I was little. I saw the movie when it aired on Disney channel recently and I liked it, so I'll give the first season a try. You can add me to the list of those persuaded by the review, Luke!

I can imagine how hard it must be to have to review a whole season set, but we do appreciate the reviews and we can't wait for the next one.

Terrific review Luke! Your feelings nearly sum it up for me!

Yeah I guess they could've had more bonus features, but either way, I grew up loving this show and it's still my all-time favorite Disney show(yup, more than Timon and Pumbaa :P ) and I am definetely going to buy this set!

Thanks again!

The review was quite excellent. I usually don't read a review all the way through (I just skim), but I just had to for DuckTales. You've convinced me as well, although I would have probably bought it no matter how good the quality was - it's DuckTales!

(oo-oo-hooo!)

Another excellent review Luke. I can hardly wait until my set arrives. There have been a few times when a UD review was the deciding factor in one of my purchases. Keep up the good work reviewers.

Excellent Ducktales review Luke! I've never seen the series, and now you're recommendation makes me want to see it. Problem is, chances are it will never be released in my area. I guess I'll have to settle renting a R1 copy and seeing it in black and white! Anyway, thanks for all these awesome reviews! They're great fun to read and have been helpful each and every time!

Thanks very much for all the kind words. It's especially encouraging when dealing with 10+ hour box sets!

Those of you who haven't checked out the front page in the past couple of hours won't have seen this until now:

Great job on the review, Luke.

I wonder why Disney chose clear keepcases instead of using the regular white keepcases. :?

Great job on the CnDRR review, Lukester! I didn't read the episode descriptions (don't wanna spoil myself), but everything else was great!

Question: since CnDRR come in clear slipcases, is there double-sided artwork?

Nope. That would require effort, you see, and Disney appears to have kept that to a minimum on this week's box sets.

Damn. That makes the clear slipcases useless. Maybe they were cheaper. At least this gives me a chance to make my own inside coverart. Of course, I'd have to buy the DVD first. :)

And side-note, WOOHOO! 2000 posts! :pink:

Man do I have a lot of feedback to post. Between UD posting, reading reviews, writing reviews, working, watching DVDs, planning a vacation, and keeping up with theme park news, I feel like Disney and my life have grown synonymous lately! As such, I've gotten behind on reading some of the reviews. I got all caught up a couple of days ago, plus the new reviews now. Not even sure where to start, so I'll just post what comes to mind.

First, great job on the DuckTales and Rescue Rangers sets. I'm more than impressed that you were able to watch both sets and put together two differing but equally outstanding reviews in such a short period of time, Luke. It's appreciated. In reading the DuckTales reviews, I could hear the triplets saying the character names in my head. It's been a long time since I've seen either show (especially DuckTales), so I'm very excited. I just wish the treatment for these box sets was better. But hey, at least they've *finally* seen the light of day, right?

Very interesting Three Wisemen review. The Bible verse was a unique and approproate way to begin the review. I've always been interested by the discrepencies between how the Bible actually describes the Christmas story and all the little details that were added to popular belief along the way. It's a shame they secularize the story, but it still seems like an interesting production with decent animation. Not worth a blind buy, however.

Matthew & Mike- great job with the Cindy gift set review. It seems like a really good set. You had me second guessing my decision to not partake in these. I can't really justify the extra money, but your review allows me to at least visit the content I'm not getting.

Let's see- what else? I saw Mickey's House of Villains a year or two ago and I had pretty much the exact same thoughts as you, Lester. Despite its shortcomings, this is another one I've decided I would like to own.

Renata, your review of the Princess Christmas DVD had me laughing out loud (in a library, no less ). Very funny as usual! I get a kick out of your reviews.

Lots of good information flowing out of UD these days!

First of all, thank you. This is Mike, by the way. The review took a while, and I feared I might actually have missed out on it when Mathew had his version of the review and pictures in before me, but Luke kindly and patiently waited until I put in my share. I'm really glad that you thought the review gave you a sense of what the Gift Set was like with just words and pictures instead of the actual set in your hands.

As for Disney's House of Villians, I'm quite glad I own that. I bought it the very fall it came out, and when I watched the movie that same fall, it was perfect for Halloween.

Once again, thank you for your comments on the Cinderella DVD Gift Set Review.

Thanks for the thoughtful and much-appreciated feedback, Aaron. It's always nice to garner any response, especially as keen a summary as yours!

Speaking of Aaron, I hear he's done a new review. Is that right?

Oh, look at that! He has. It's of <b>"Five Mile Creek"</b> and may not please the likes of Disney Guru and dvdjunkie, but neither should Disney's DVD set, which takes its share of the blame:

Renata's long-awaited review of The "Complete" First Season of "Tales from Avonlea" i.e. "Avonlea" and "Road to Avonlea" can now be read here:

I must say it's a pretty awesome read. I especially liked the good parts, which was all of it.
