Most studios will do CG films, but not necessarily princess stories. Unless Pixar gets another princess kick in them.

The Frozen hoopla can't last past Big Hero 6, can it?

I know this doesnt have a princess in it, but I really wish someone would do a nice dramatic version of little Red Riding hood. Im afraid Hoodwinked has ruined that chance of that ever happening. Anyway i hope at least one studio tries to do something in the vein of the fairytale/legends musical format. Actually it doesnt even have to be a musical, really...

You and I think alike. It's kinda my dream to do a "realistic" Red Riding Hood. No fooling, I am writing a story based on that premise.

I dunno if Disney will ever do it, though. Hey, maybe that means I have a shot at making it my own movie.

There seems to be a typo on the list. Jasmine should be above Aurora. It says Jasmine sold $253,102 worth of merchandise while Aurora sold $215,856. So it should be: 7. Merida, 8. Jasmine, 9. Aurora.

I'm shocked Belle is at the bottom. She has always seemed to be right up there with Ariel, Cindy and Rapunzel in terms of popularity. No surprise Elsa and Anna are high up due top Frozen's popularity. Snow White and Cinderella are probably the most well known fairy tales and arguably the most iconic princesses. Really Belle being at the bottom is the only big surprise I would have thought she'd come after Rapunzel. Poor Pocahontas and Mulan don't even sell enough to make it onto the list. And it sucks Tiana is so low too. She is one of the best role models in the franchise.

In dollars and cents, FBR Capital Markets says Disney's biggest franchises work out like this:

Mickey Mouse is still No. 1, bringing in $4 billion in sales a year.

The Disney Princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Tiana, etc.) bring in another $4 billion.

The "Cars" and "Winnie the Pooh" franchises each bring in $2 billion a year.

The "Toy Story" franchise brings in $1 billion a year.

"Frozen" is expected to bring in $500 million to $1 billion in the next year, according to FBR.

I think thats really shocking Mickey is still so high?

No disrespect to the franchise or the character, but just feel he's never used anywhere. . .

Didn't some random Russian company do Snow Queen like almost the exact same time as Frozen ? Didn't stop Disney then.

Then again it's not like we have seen plans of a Disney Thumbelina or Disney Swan Princess, maybe because they're pretty already Disney-ish; though Hoodwinked doesn't, it feels more Shrek than Disney, so it's more possible for it to happen.

The only problem is that the story of Red Riding Hood is short, though they could do with what they did with Little Matchstick Girl and do a animated short, maybe ? c:

I was hoping that the TV Frozen thing was going to be like Dreamworks does with their popular movies and make TV shows out of them. I really like the Ku Fu Panda one they do. Oh well.

When you have one Disney Princess (Rapunzel) you do crazy good numbers, and create a character beloved the world over …. when you have TWO Disney Princesses featuring in the same film, you do record - breaking numbers and create two instant iconic Princesses ! (One more iconic and beloved more than the other, but both loved all the same).

No matter how the studio wants to ween away from the Princess musical, it is what people love.

Not really shocking if you consider that Pooh still generates twice the revenue of Frozen--it'd be easy to say that it seems the bear of little brain is never used anywhere, either.

Disney already did do a version of Little Red Riding Hood. The Big Bad Wolf, which was a pseudo sequel to The Three Little Pigs as it had the pigs helping Red Riding Hood.

I'm actually surprised Pooh doesn't make more--those characters are such canon-fodder for children. Maybe I'm just being biased because even as a child I couldn't have cared less about Mickey and co. (well, except Donald).

Mickey, Donald and Goody were in a Jack and the Beanstalk short several decades before Giants was even announced. And Chicken Little was an animated short prior to the movie in 2005.

So you never know. Just please Disney, wait until I become better at animating so I can help make that film.

I dunno, I see a lot of people come home with something Mickey-related when I go to the parks, and not just the hats.

I am a lot more surprised at how much Winnie The Pooh merch makes, I feel like I have seen so little merchandise out there in years and it used to be everywhere. Like Hello Kitty everywhere.

That Big Hero 6 sneak peak/teaser better bring it at the end of this month, cause i'm starting to feel another "Lilo & Stitch/Treasure Planet vibe" now. When new Frozen Merch comes out this summer/fall for Frozen, isn't that when BH6 merch will be out? That trailer must have an impact!

I thought I read another place that he would not want to star as Kristoff in Once Upon a Time because he was not hot enough (that's complete bs btw, he is hot!). I did not believe that he denied the possibility of starring in the Broadway version? Sounds strange.

Besides, I do not think that this is a final "no" from Groff. If Disney asks him, he might change his mind. I mean, who cares that he does not have the same body type as Kristoff? Just dress him up in a Kristoff costume and give him blond hair. He is the voice of Kristoff and since he is a Broadway/musical actor he should star in the musical version!
