Prince Edward wrote:Disney should really use this opportunity to feature the "If I Never Knew You (Reprise)" track on this release. It is supposed to be the ultimate, complete edition, and people who want only the instrumental version of the track "Farewell" could get that on the standard CD sountrack or on iTunes.
The track time indicates that it does.

Looking forward to the "Pocahontas" release, unsurprisingly enough (since you've guessed that I'm a fan). I'm glad to see some demos being included. But it's a pity "Poweful Magic" wasn't included.

what is this exactly? does IINKY play a second time in the film?
Yeah, there's a very brief reprise sung between Pocahontas and John Smith right before the ship takes off, which may account for the longer run time.
oh thanks, its been a while since I saw the 10th anni dvd version so I had forgotten about it. Last time I saw the film was the blu-ray version and they stupidly decided to leave IINKY off of it.

It was dumb indeed. But at least "If I Never Knew You" got to be released as a bonus feature. The same can't be said for those bonus features which were never imported from the Laserdisc edition (yes, I know I'm repeating myself, but still).

I keep an eye on the ones I haven't bought every now and then on Amazon because some days the price will change. I checked the other day for
Lady and the Tramp (I was randomly listening to the film's songs featured on the Disney Classics CDs at the time), but the physical version on Amazon had disappeared and you could only purchase it digitally. I just checked again, and
a pre-order for the CD popped up (for August 21st) at $14.99. It confused me because I thought it had already been released? But I'm not complaining.
I went ahead and pre-ordered while it's at that price. Just wanted to put it here for anyone who hadn't bought it yet, if they wanted to pre-order before it possibly goes back up to $21.99.

The higher price before was due to that it was an EXCLUSIVE from INTRADA (but also sold through Amazon by Intrada). Their prices ar almost always higher. So now when the GENERAL/OFFICIAL release will come, the price will be lesser.
Disneyland in the same serie was treated the same, it was an EXCLUSIVE for the parks only, but will also be released generally in August.

I wonder why they would release “through Intrada” if they planned to give it a general release anyway? They never said there would be a general release, anyway. If I missed it, oh well, I’m glad either way.

I have the first three, Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Sleeping Beauty, and I need to get back to getting these. What else has been released?

Here's a list of all releases so far:

We're getting pretty close to the end of the announced titles. I hope they announce a second year of the collection soon - maybe at D23?

If they would expand this collection, it would be amazing news for us Disney music fans! They could add so many more titles: Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, Winnie the Pooh, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan...

But aren't most of the older soundtracks already fully comprehensive already, with every bit of score ? That's why Mermaid was such a blessing as it is waaaaaay more expansive now to cover the entire film. Things like Alice and Snow are pretty much all covered aren't they ? But I suppose there could be demos included etc.

Exactly- these are deluxe editions, basically. Half of the collection has been music that has been available already, but it's the presentation as a collection that I find appealing- with new artwork, behind the scenes stuff, etc. It's my feeling that every Disney and Pixar classic is deserving of a Legacy release, regardless of what has been previously available.

I agree, I'd like them to do as many as possible, including
Bedknobs and Broomsticks, too, since they did MP. I'd love to have as many of Disney's animated film soundtracks as possible in this packaging sitting alongside each other on a shelf, from
Snow White to
Frozen mayhaps.

I hope they do the newest movies at some point anyway, even though they're not that old. I don't have TP&TF or Tangled's soundtracks, and I'd like this to be an excuse to get them. I imagine covers for the three new fairytale films would be gorgeous (TP&TF - the wedding scene would be my pick, with Tiana's gorgeous dress; the lantern scene for Tangled, ofc; Elsa's ice palace for Frozen?)
I've been scheming about how I can get some friends/relatives to get me the Fantasia and MP (and maybe Disneyland, too) sets this holiday season. I miss our evil horned smiley.

It's not bad, just sort of middle-of-the-road. I'm not surprised she/Disney went for a leaves-in-the-air shot for the cover. Still, I would've loved one of Pocahontas and John Smith under Grandmother Willow. Or even Pocahontas/John Smith in the shape of the wind like during "Colors of the Wind" would've been interesting.

Well, the cover was nice enough. Though I've previously stated my disdain for those covers, I still thought it was decent.
