I think Kristen Bell did a great job with Anna's voice. I couldn't imagine her speaking behind the character in that coronation scene. Idina is also good as Elsa, she's always had a young speaking voice, and an older singing one.

I showed a friend of mine today all the trailers and clips from frozen. She's excited for it now. One more month to go!

Anna is 18 and Elsa is 21.

Things I want to see Frozen nominated for at the oscars:

-Best Motion Picture
-Best Animation Picture
-Best Song
-Best Soundtrack

We know that Song and soundtrack won't be nominated together.. so they have to pick one.

The sad thing is, aside best song, Frozen has no chance of winning.

I'm 99.8% sure that Monsters University will win... Which is sad because this looks so much better.. (then again, i am a little biased when it comes to Frozen).

I am very confident of Frozen beating Monsters U. It's The Wind Rises that is the most serious contender, especially since its Miyazaki's final film.

The Wind Rises will almost certainly win. It has good reviews, serious subject matter, and the farewell gift to Miyazaki and his legacy angle. Frozen will have to perform remarkably well with critics and the public to stand a chance.

I'm confident it will be nominated assuming it doesn't bomb though. It's a pretty weak field this year for American animation (which also opens the door for Miyazaki to win again). Tangled was a critical and financial success and got snubbed from a nomination, but there's no Toy Story 3 sucking up all the oxygen in the room this year.

Frozen already being second in the odds before its release pretty much says it all about the competition



Monsters University was a cute and funny film (and very underrated by many diehard Pixar fans), but I will admit it is lacking that extra emotional oomph that appeals to Oscar voters, which even Brave had. I wouldn't be completely shocked if it won, but I'm not counting on it. Pixar has lost before with their weaker efforts.

Disney animated film is BACK!! I was so lucky to get the chance to attend a Frozen screening tonight, and I am left impressed beyond words. There were some flaws of course, but seeing as how the themes revolved around mental health, I found that really appropriate and the charms that made it perfect in its own way. Yeah same, they seem to have a huge biased opinion towards Pixar movies. There was no way Brave was better than Ralph.

I kinda want TWR to win for Mikaymi as a great farewell, but ugh. Disney has a REAL chance this time with Pixar, having no chances of winning. And it breaks my heart that this ONE time, Pixar gets no chance and Disney has a real chance, another stronger movie ruins that..

No need to take the Oscars too seriously. Not like the Academy itself takes the Best Animated Feature award seriously.

We don't know this yet. Might be best not to get carried away with the early positive impressions, the sample size is too small and I've noticed that positive impressions for films tend to come out first. RT ratings, for instance, generally tend to slide over time. And there was that pretty negative impression by that insider over at the LP boards.

Yea, I think the Oscar is between The Wind Rises, Frozen, and Monsters University. I actually think Academy voters might prefer Frozen (if the movie is good of course) over MU because while MU is a Pixar movie, it's a college prequel. Frozen on the other hand is a more Oscar appealing movie with it being a fairy tale musical.

Right now I'm picking The Wind Rises because it's dubbed as Miyazaki's last film. I may be the minority, but I actually don't mind MU winning. Right now, it is the best US distributed animated movie this year (weak year I know). The third act was fantastic, especially with the writers not taking the cliche route they could have went. EVERY other animated movie this year has felt too cliched and predictable imo.

As far as the other two nominees, it's better The Croods, Despicable Me 2, and Ernest and Celestine. Personally, I think the latter two are getting the last two spots.

I was rooting for Wreck-it Ralph to win, but I was guessing Brave would win and it did.
I think the big reason is that Brave is very relatable.
I'm not saying Wreck-it Ralph is not, it's just that in Brave you saw the whole family, just like in real life.

I haven't seen The Wind Rises, but I'm sure Frozen has a great chance of winning, since it is quite relatable emotionally, even though it is set in a fantasy world.

Anyway, if Frozen doesn't win an Oscar, Tangled didn't win an Oscar but it was amazing. Hunchback was a "flop", didn't win a thing, but it was awesome. Of course, It'd nice to see Frozen winning something because it may deserve it (It can also win because of one of the songs), but if it doesn't, well, If I like the movie that's enough for me.
