With as many pops as they released this year, I'm sure there'll be many more besides those that've been announced so far, Prof. Ratigan. :) Probably even more since they're nearly done with Frozen and there isn't a new Disney film in 2015 either.

SO happy to have Mulan and TP&TF!!! Much more excited to have those than L&S or Tangled, but I guess it doesn't matter what order they come in. I hope they have both Naveen and Tiana in their bayou wedding outfits at first + Facilier and Odie or Charlotte. I'm worried they'll have frog Naveen and Tiana in her blue dress first... I probably won't buy frog versions of them, and most likely not Louis or Ray either (although maybe they could make Ray not look hideous in pop form...?)

I imagine if they're still going by fours (which I'm not sure of anymore), Mulan, Shang, Shan-Yu and Mushu would make the first release. I hope they do the Fa family and the Emperor, too, eventually.

Sadly, Shan-Yu is such a forgotten villain that I´d be surprised if they release him.

If you´re guessing they´ll release them as four (although for Aladdin they skipped him an it was just Genie, Jasmine and Jafar) I´ll say:

-Mulan, Li Shang, Mushu, Cri-Kee
-Mulan, Soldier/Male Mulan, Li Shang, Mushu
-Mulan, Yao, Ling, Chien-Po

I really doubt Shan Yu will make it.

BTW, how these Funko Pop figures have become so expensive?

I mean: they´re extremely popular, have licenses from so many stuff, people do buy them, the design is meant to be simple/chibi . With all of this, I´m surprised figures get discontinued and get such expensive and difficult to find.

If you were to tell me they´re big, detailed, actual collector´s figures I´d understand. But something with the aforementioned things going for them you´d think they´re cheap and easy available.

Wanted to mention that I got Chernabog.

Great figure! But 2 complaints though: 1) the color should have been darker. 2) the feet and tail: would have preferred him SO much better if instead of that he´d be just standing in a mountain. You know, so the lower part was like a cone and then have the rest of him starting with the upper torso. Like he is; but this figure was one of the first to come out so they didn´t know how to handle it and decided to give him feet as every other figure.

This is such a looooooong shot but: do you think we could get a Monstro and Horned King figure some day?

My predictions:

The Princess and the Frog: Tiana as a Princess, Naveen as a frog and Facilier. Charlotte if there are 4. Probably a Frog Tiana as a Hot Topic exclusive. Maybe a human Naveen too.

Tangled: Rapunzel, Flynn and Gothel. Short Hair Rapunzel if there are 4. If not she will likely be an exclusive to somewhere.

Mulan: Mulan, Mulan as Ping and Mushu. Shang if there are 4. Matchmaker outfit Mulan as a Hot Topic exclusive.

Really Hoping Aurora comes with some other new Sleeping Beauty Pops. The good fairies and a 6'' Dragon Maleficent are so needed. Wouldn't sneeze at a Prince Philip pop either. Hoping for a "Make it Blue!" exclusive Aurora somewhere.

Here's hoping.

Well, Jafar, Jasmine and the Genie were all a part of Series 5, back when they weren't doing waves of specific films. Beauty and the Beast got more than four, counting the original releases of Belle & the Beast. You got Peasant Belle, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts & Chip, Cogsworth. Jungle Book did, too. Counting Baloo & King Louie from Series 5, we also got Mowgli, Shere Khan and Kaa, for a total of 5. (I don't see WHY they didn't just round out the latter wave and include Bagheera, but, whatever.) I think it just depends on the movie. I don't see Mulan getting more than 4, however.
DC Fan wrote:Great figure! I agree with this. It's why I STILL haven't bought Chernabog for myself yet. I'm torn. I WANT all the Disney Villains, but, I'm not crazy about his design ever since realizing that discrepancy. It's just not movie-accurate. I hope they revisit him as a 6-inch figure. He SCREAMS 6-inch, and if they can Marshmallow, an inconsequential side-character from Frozen justice, they damn well better do the devil on Bald Mountain, one of the most striking, menacing and POWERFULLY animated characters in the history of the artform!
DC Fan wrote:This is such a looooooong shot but: do you think we could get a Monstro and Horned King figure some day?
Monstro? No. I'd love it. But, I don't see it happening. For some reason, Pinocchio has never gotten the merchandise craze that the other classics have. I think if we see any more from Pinocchio, they'll be Honest John and Gideon (who would be MUCH easier for Funko to make 'cute' enough to match their aesthetic) and the Blue Fairy, for the same reason. Perhaps Geppeto. And I could definitely see Figaro making it. Again, for the cuteness factor. Stromboli would be a long-shot. The Coachman is never going to happen. Lampwick? Maybe. Pinocchio with Donkey Ears? Surprised it didn't happen all ready, to be honest. As for the Horned King, he's someone I can definitely see Funko doing. They love the Villains, he's a great villain, he'd sell like hot-cakes to obsessed fans like us who are STARVED for Horned King merch, and they've all ready proved they are willing to take risks. (Rocketeer and Sir Hiss, anyone?) But, I think, if the Horned King comes, the only other Black Cauldron character they would do would be Gurgi. Again: cuteness. None of the other Cauldron characters really have those striking designs that just leap off the screen like Horned King and Gurgi do. Except maybe Creeper. But, he's so obscure, even among hardcore Disney fans, that I don't see him having a shot. At all.
Widdi wrote:The Princess and the Frog: Tiana as a Princess, Naveen as a frog and Facilier. Charlotte if there are 4. Probably a Frog Tiana as a Hot Topic exclusive. Maybe a human Naveen too.
This. This is exactly what I feel they'd do. I think there will be four. And MAYBE the Frog Tiana or Louis as an exclusive. But, I don't think HUMAN Naveen has much of a chance, sadly.
Widdi wrote:Tangled: Rapunzel, Flynn and Gothel. Short Hair Rapunzel if there are 4. If not she will likely be an exclusive to somewhere.
While I think you're right on the money with the first three, I think that the wave will almost certainly include Pascal. He's popular, cutesy and can make for EASY variants. And Funko LOVES variants. Yellow Pascal! Green Pascal! Red Pascal! You get the idea. I could see Short-Shaired Rapunzel as a convention or Hot Topic Exclusive, however. Maximus is the only other character who has a shot, considering his popularity. Has Funko ever done a horse? That wasn't a My Little Pony, I mean?
Widdi wrote:Mulan: Mulan, Mulan as Ping and Mushu. Shang if there are 4. Matchmaker outfit Mulan as a Hot Topic exclusive.
I think you're right about Mulan, Mulan as Ping and Mushu, but, I think they'll go with Shan-Yu over Shang. Shan-Yu is a villain, Funko loves villains. He's got a WAY better design than Shang and would lend himself better to the Funko form. And if they did an exclusive, I would go with 'Reflection' scene Mulan, with half her paint wiped off. I don't think Shang has a chance. How many times now has Funko skipped over the ICONIC Disney men? Snow White's Prince, Prince Charming, Philip, Eric, ALADDIN. Funko doesn't seem to care for the boys, unfortunately.
Widdi wrote:Really Hoping Aurora comes with some other new Sleeping Beauty Pops. The good fairies and a 6'' Dragon Maleficent are so needed. Wouldn't sneeze at a Prince Philip pop either. Hoping for a "Make it Blue!" exclusive Aurora somewhere.
We desperately need the Fairies. Maybe as 'mini' Pops, released in a three-pack? 6-inch Dragon Maleficent is a no-brainer. She's the most viable Villain in the pantheon, her Dragon form is almost just as iconic as her regular form. It's bound to happen sooner or later. Philip is the only I'm worried about not seeing. But, they NEED him to round out the cast (just like they need Bagheera and Gaston to round out the casts of Jungle Book and BatB!)

I love Monstro, but somehow I don't think he'd look great as a pop, unfortunately. I definitely would like Geppetto, Figaro, and the Blue Fairy. I think I have Pinocchio, but I'm not sure. I thought he and Jiminy Cricket looked kind of bad, but I might've got Pinocchio just because. I think the Horned King will happen eventually, but probably not soon. I can see him getting made before any of the other characters from that movie.

I just hope if/when they do Shan-Yu, that they have him with the hood and his sword drawn. I can see Matchmaker Mulan happening before the other versions of her, tbh. (And I'm glad, too.)
Professor Ratigan wrote:And if they did an exclusive, I would go with 'Reflection' scene Mulan, with half her paint wiped off. I don't think Shang has a chance.
That would be such a cool exclusive! :P I only suggested Shang because, like I said, I believe Matchmaker Mulan will come first and they probably want one of the army unifom characters.

Oh, and Aladdin is rumored for next year, maybe solo like Aurora? I'm still hoping they'll release a Prince Ali version of him. I would love the three good fairies, but I would like more of Cinderella first. Hopefully, they'll release the animated pops next year since the live-action movie will be out, too.

Ah, no love for Honest John & Gideon? :P Frankly, it's always astounded me that Disney doesn't merchandise those two. They're very cute designs, just BEGGING for decent plushes. And I don't think EITHER have gotten a single plush! Bizarre. Utterly bizarre.
Disney's Divinity wrote:I just hope if/when they do Shan-Yu, that they have him with the hood and his sword drawn. I can see Matchmaker Mulan happening before the other versions of her, tbh. (And I'm glad, too.)
See, I'd rather they go with hoodless, but angry eyes, hawk on one arm, sword in the other's free hand. And even though I'm not a fan of the character I DO want all the Villains. Same goes for Gothel. Facilier, though, is just on another level of want. Because I LOVE that character to pieces. (They could even do a Skull Facepaint glow-in-the-dark variant! How COOL would that be?!)
Disney's Divinity wrote:Oh, and Aladdin is rumored for next year, maybe solo like Aurora? I'm still hoping they'll release a Prince Ali version of him. I think they're saving Aladdin for the Diamond Edition. Smart move. They could do a whole other Aladdin series. Aladdin himself, Prince Ali Aladdin, Slave Jasmine. Variants of the Genie Galore. Iago. Sultan. Genie Jafar, Cobra Jafar. I REALLY hope they go all out, as the cast of Aladdin is so winning and all have such great designs. I'd be tempted to get them all. Tempted. As for Cinderella, YES. Most especially Lucifer and Lady Tremaine. I need those two.

Ooh, and I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but, I decided to trade one of my Sir Hisses (the one with the poorer paint application) for Shere Khan! My Shere Khan has a perfect paint job...but I didn't realize until I brought him home that the plastic window on the box was creased, right down the middle! I don't know HOW I missed that at the store. I guess I was too focused on making sure his paint job was decent. Eh, still, I think Shere Khan looks WAY better in person than those ugly glam shots made him out. They seemed to have digitally enlarged his black eyes on the glams and made it look really bizarre. His proportions seemed...off. But, in person, the final product FAR exceeded my expectations. He's become one of my favorites. (I love his chin!)

I love Honest John, but I'm not sure I'd care to buy the whole cast from Pinocchio. Shan Yu is actually one of the few male villains I love. Shan Yu, Hades, and Facilier (a skull variant would be awesome, yes!). As far as Tangled, I'm pretty sure I'll get Rapunzel and maybe Gothel. When I first started collecting these, the villains and princesses were the ones I promised to get if nothing else. I hope they have a short-haired Rapunzel. I might get Maximus, too, if he looks good. Although I usually want the pair, I really hate Flynn, so definitely not getting him.

I agree, I want them to do the whole cast for all of the Fab Four. Right now, TLM has the least which disappoints me, but I'm hoping they do more of Aladdin, too. I can picture the Sultan being really cute. As far as that princess rule, I kind of regret getting Jasmine. Her pop is just okay.

With all this speculative talk I thought it would be fun to go movie-by-movie through a list of future possibilities:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:
The Other Six Dwarfs; Dopey especially.]
The Evil Queen in her disguise.
Prince Charming.

Dopey seems like a no-brainer. I can't believe we don't have him yet. Same with the Evil Queen. I would love a full dwarf set (It's why I haven't bought Grumpy yet), but with Grumpy already retired I have my doubts it will happen. Maybe in some big set at a D23 convention or something. Or for Snow White's 80th anniversary if Pops are still a thing in 2 years.

Pinocchio:
Pinocchio with Donkey Ears and Tail
Blue Fairy
Geppetto
Honest John
Gideon
6" Monstro
Stromboli
The Coachman

I honestly don't think any of these will be made, but it would be nice.

Fantasia:
6'' Chernabog (With mountain lower half, instead of legs)
Dancing Hippo

I think the Hippo will come at some point. Chernabog is just wishful thinking.

Dumbo:
I don't think any other Dumbo pops will be made.

Bambi:
Ditto.

The Package Films:
Maybe The Three Caballeros, Mr Toad, Ichabod and The Headless Horseman. All very unlikely though.

Cinderella:
Lady Tremaine
Fairy Godmother
The Prince
Jaq and Gus
Ripped Dress Cinderella
Maid Cinderella
The Pumpkin Carriage as a Pop Ride.

A preorder for "Cinderella Mouse" showed up on Popcultcha a few weeks back. My guess is it is from the Live Action movie where the mice wont be named. Tremaine is my main want. If the live-action movie is successful enough I could see them revisiting the animated movies.

Alice In Wonderland:
The Queen of Hearts
The March Hare
The Caterpillar
Clear Cheshire Cat with only the mouth painted (honestly what I wanted the Hot Topic exclusive to be)

The fact that The Queen hasn't been made yet is mind-boggling. The others would fill out a new Alice wave, but I could see them doing a Villains wave to put out The Queen and avoid lesser selling characters.

Peter Pan:
I think they are done with Pan.

Lady and the Tramp:
The movie's namesakes are certain to be Popped at some point.

Sleeping Beauty:
The Fairies, Philip and Dragon Maleficent will all come eventually. I have faith.

101 Dalmatians:
A Crazy Eyed Cruella to go along with a Pop Ride version of her iconic car.

The Sword in the Stone:
Merlin.

The Jungle Book:
Baghera apparently didn't pass the Licenseor approval. I don't see how that is possible, but I hope Funko tries to get him made again.

The Aristocats:
Marie? Honestly I see this movie being ignored.

Robin Hood:
Marion
Little John
The Sheriff of Nottingham

Honestly if the line sold well we will get them, if not they will be done with this movie.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh/Winnie the Pooh:
Piglett
Eyeore

How they haven't been made yet when they are both as iconic as Pooh and Tigger I don't understand. If waves of Three or Four continue to be the norm I would add Rabbit and Kanga and Roo (together in one box like they did with Mrs Potts and Chip).

The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under:
Bianca
Bernard

Both coming at some point for sure.

The Fox and the Hound:
Todd
Copper

Though probably not.

The Black Cauldron:
Gurgi
The Horned King
Taran
Elionwy

Gurgi and the Horned King are both cult enough now to be made. What remains to be seen is if we get a full wave or not.

The Great Mouse Detective:
Basil of Baker Street
Professor Ratigan

I can't see them doing a full wave from this movie. I hope another mixed wave happens and includes them.

Oliver and Company:
Never going to happen.

The Littler Mermaid:
Pink Dress Ariel that gets used in all the Disney Princess marketing.
Triton
Sebastian
Flounder
Scuttle
Prince Eric
6'' Ursula with the trident and crown

I think they will all come at some point. Mermaid is too popular not to get more Pops.

Beauty and the Beast:
Gaston

A Villains line has to happen eventually to get him.

Aladdin:
Aladdin
Prince Ali
An endless assortment of Genie variations
Magic Carpet Pop Ride.

Probably coming up this year.

The Lion King:
Nala
Zazu
The Hyenas
Mufasa or Adult Simba but not both cause they would look exactly the same in Pop form.

Going to happen as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.

Pocahontas:
Pocahontas

That is all.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame:
Quasi Modo
Esmeralda
Frollo
Clopin

If Hunchback gets a wave this will be it.

Hercules:
Hercules
Meg
Hades
Pegasus

If Hercules gets a wave this will be it.

Mulan:
See earlier post

Tarzan:
Tarzan

The Emperor's New Groove:
Kuzco as a Lama
Yzma
Kronk

Atlantis: the Last Empire:
Not going to happen

Lilo & Stitch:
Hula Stitch
6'' Gantu
Jumbaa
Pleakly

Treasure Planet:
Not going to happen.

Brother Bear:
Ditto

Home on the Range:
Double Ditto

Chicken Little:
Triple Ditto

Meet the Robinsons:
*broken record*

Bolt:
Bolt

The Princess and the Frog/ Tangled:
See previous posts.

Wreck-it Ralph:
Done

Frozen:
Hans
Non iced-up Marshmallow (with Tiara!)

It does surprise me that Mermaid has the fewest. I think it's just because the two that DO exist for Mermaid came at such an early stage in the game when Funko felt they couldn't really do non-human characters in a way that was appealing. Beauty and Lion King just got lucky. And Aladdin, I'm convinced, has only been delayed to coincide with the Diamond Edition. There's so much pent-up demand for that movie, I'd seriously be surprised if it didn't outsell all the others Diamonds in merchandise sales when it finally DOES hit. (At least, I hope it does. Aladdin really NEEDS it, at the moment. Plus, with the added nostalgia for Robin Williams, it's almost a surefire thing at this point. Funko would be STUPID to not time more Aladdin figures to this release!)
Widdi wrote:Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:

I don't know. Hook, Tink and Pan, and that's all? Tick Tock is begging to be put in this style. Wendy is a must-have. Mr. Smee would work great. That's three right there. Throw in Tiger Lily and you've got a wave. I agree with your Alice in Wonderland predictions, however.
Widdi wrote:101 Dalmatians:

:o ... I would buy that. But ONLY if the Cruella had that crazy, frizzled out hair and red-demon eye look that she has in THAT scene. That would be AMAZING. (I've honestly lamented the fact that Disney themselves haven't done a Vinylmation of Cruella depicting THAT scene. To me, that is THE definitive Cruella De Vil moment!) I never even CONSIDERED it for POP form. Damn, that's a good suggestion. You'll have to put that one up on the Funko forum 'wish list' thread, for sure.

God, I hope so. I mean, I want the whole cast--and the film CERTAINLY has the fanbase to justify it--especially in light of a potential Broadway show--but, if it comes down to just these or none, then these are the 'essentials' for me. Phoebus rocks, but, he got so many cool little trinkets and toys back in 1996 while Frollo and Clopin were relegated to the dustbin. Let's give them some room to shine.

I can picture them doing Phoebus before Clopin though. It's too bad, because I don't like Phoebus and love Clopin.

@ Widdi: I'm surprised they haven't made Dopey or the Queen of Hearts yet, too. I'm kind of glad Dopey didn't get made earlier, because he'll probably look better now. Grumpy looked horrible. I wish a couple of the early ones could be re-done, like the Cheshire Cat, because I think they could do them better now. Variants of Pinocchio with donkey ears and Cruella with crazy eyes would be very nice. I'd never heard of Pop Ride's before, but I agree, the pumpkin carriage, the carpet, and Cruella's car would be perfect. I could picture them doing Smee, Wendy, and possibly the other Darlings from PP; unfortunately, they probably wouldn't do Nana or Tick Tock, but I'd love to have those. I believe they'll do all the characters from Winnie the Pooh eventually, but I hope they get to Rabbit and Eeyore soon, they were always my favorites. I also think they'll do blue dress Ariel and Kala/Jane from Tarzan, too. I agree with most of your thoughts, but I would love to have Duchess from The Aristocats, Lady Cluck from Robin Hood, Jim Hawkins from TP, and Georgette from O&C. Of course, I'd love the whole cast from Hercules, too (the Fates, the Titans, Zeus, Hera), and Mim/Arthur/Archimedes from TSitS, but very unlikely. I just hope they have a variant of Hades with red flames.
Baghera apparently didn't pass the Licenseor approval. I don't see how that is possible, but I hope Funko tries to get him made again.
Isn't that odd? I wonder how they could've got approval for the others, but not Bagheera. Bagheera was always my favorite from the movie.

Can't believe these haven't been posted yet! Funko concept art reveals SEVERAL new Disney POPS, including Mad Madame Mim and Archimedes from Sword in the Stone, Hocus Pocus, Chip & Dale and Scrooge McDuck! Also, James and the Giant Peach, from the looks of things. Not sure if that's technically 'Disney' or not, but still.

Also, Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors has been seen as well. VERY exciting! Studio Ghibli art has been revealed, Pan's Labyrinth. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network classic cartoons. An amazing amount.

EDIT: Apparently, these are just concepts. But, I don't see Disney denying them the rights to produce these. (Why would they, when Funko and Disney have had such a great working relationship for so long now?) I'd bet my life on the Disney characters as being 'confirmed.' Ghibli, too, since we all ready knew they were coming.

The last time I had been to the funko website, I only saw some pictures for possible Nickelodean/misc. cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Samuari Jack, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Avatar: the Last Airbender, some of which I might have to buy if they get made.

Anyway, I know the pictures are almost never representative of how they turn out, but I hope Mim is better than the picture. I'm glad they're doing Ghibli, too. I might have to get the Hocus Pocus characters....don't judge me. And very excited they're looking at Disney TV characters.

Aw, I really like Mim's Funko design! It gives her a very haggish appearance, which, I feel, fits the character well. If they're doing Mim and Archimedes, though, you know they're going to do Merlin. Throw in Wart pulling the Sword from the Stone and you have a perfect line-up for that film. Literally perfect.

As for the others, if Audrey II becomes a reality, that's an instant-buy for me, along with any other Little Shop of Horrors POPS. I also really love the Pan's Labyrinth characters, Aku from Samurai Jack, Totoro and No Face. Very surprised Powerpuff Girls weren't shown, considering Samurai Jack, Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog were. I'd KILL to have HIM and Mojo Jojo. And probably any of the other villains from that series, to be honest. (But HIM is a must-own!)

I'd like to have Arthur in that red overcoat at the end with crown, but I know they'll give him his regular look with the brown shirt. I know I'm crazy overboard and this'll never happen, but I'd love variants/exclusives of Mim--one with pig face, one as a tall, thin, young woman, and one with polka dots on her skin. TSitS is one of my favorites. Actually, it's too bad it's not a popular movie, because they could do variants out the wazoo. Squirrel Merlin, Crab Merlin, Goat Merlin, Worm Merlin, Walrus Merlin, Chicken Mim, Dragon Mim, Rhinoceros Mim, etc.

I don't even like Samurai Jack, but Aku looks like he'll one of their best.

What, they're doing Cartoon Network characters, but no Ed, Edd n' Eddy? Fuck that!

I can't see any of these, though. The pages say that I don't have authorization to download these attachments.

But Scrooge is in there? Yes, please.
