Is this an in-store exclusive? On disneystore.com, they only have the $10 gift card deal when you buy any version of the film.

I hope they are doing lithos for this release at the Disney store - they didn't with Pinocchio but they did have them for the Sleeping Beauty Blu-Ray release.

There was an episode of "House, M.D." where a blind woman was able to receive the corneas of a dead person, and she didn't like how the world looked. She was rather depressed that it wasn't how she expected the world to look, that colours were not as beautiful, that faces weren't as nice. House realised it was because somehow, the way the brain processed what the eyes saw, it didn't look the way we see the world. He fixed it, and she could see "normally" again, even if she was already capable of seeing.

You'd also need a multi-region DVD player (or hack your own) and a TV that can do PAL to NTSC conversion.

Marky, have you ever seen an animated disney film at the cinemas? SHARP SHARP SHARP!

Maybe you just need to sit further away from the television set. TBH, I understand where you are coming from. They were playing Madagascar 2 on blu-ray at my local jbhifi was freakishly unrealistic and sterile looking - but I know for sure that it the television set was not callibrated correctly. However that was a CGI film, an inorganic film which would look unnatural anyhow. When they played spiderman 3, whilst very awesome looking I couldn't help but think it didn't look natural enough, like I was looking through a lens with 200% sharpness. However I don't usually watch movies with my face right up against the screen. TBH I think DVD is fine too, from a distance, but I hate seeing ugly compression spots when I walk closer to the screen.

you're stance on blu-ray being overly sharp doesn't really apply to traditionally animated films.... imo.

Seems like Germany/Austria/Switzerland also get the 2-DVD-with-book Edition. Lucky, lucky, lucky 8) I just wish it wouldn't have the big white box that tells the movie-buyers that there's NO age limit. It kinda ruins the look to me, but, what the heck.

EXACTLY!!! Thats my taste in cover art right there! Its PERFECT! And look how it looks like a book and everything. Now if they would just give the same treatment to all the other Disney Animated Classics and release them in order (and in this style in the US) I would be SO HAPPY. Maybe they could repackage Pinocchio in this style and then we would be on track for Fantasias release coming up. :D

The DVD isnt even on amazon.co.uk yet ... only as an import. I wonder why ? And I presume as France etc are getting the book / DVD combo, the UK is as well, just as before?

It's a nice cover, but it needs more enormous floating heads cluttered on a vague background.

It also needs more recycled clip-art from the 2001 release.

And more recycled, off model Disney Princess designs. Snow White deserves to be shown with a dress as big as Cinderella's and a chest as good as Jessica Rabbit's!

And makeup that would put Mimi from Drew Carey to shame!

I wish they were releasing that in the US as well. The only way we're getting it is this way: http://www.disneystore.com/animated-dvd ... 029/13532/

They need at least one collector's edition to include the 2-Disc DVD. I don't want Disney to snub us loyal Disney DVD buyers...
