Yeah, I lived in Orlando then, so there was a lot to do; the interviews for this site/Corbin weren't due to living in Orlando, but I definitely had some fun opportunities while there.

I agree about Nickelodeon having a different tone than Disney Channel. Nick is zanier, and yeah, sometimes they are somewhat more risque than Disney. I grew up equally with both channels, but as I got older, I still stuck with Disney, leaving Nick behind except for a few shows.

Since I'm old (I know I've joked about this a few times; I just turned 35 so I'm wondering if I'm middle aged now ), I grew up with old school, classic, amazing Nick shows like Clarissa Explains It All, All That, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, Pete and Pete, Welcome Freshmen, Alex Mack, Weinerville, Eureeka's Castle, Gullah Gullah Island, The Amanda Show, Kenan and Kel, My Brother and Me. All the game shows (Double Dare, What Would You Do, Wild and Crazy Kids, Guts, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Figure It Out). And the amazing NickToons (Doug, Rugrats, Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold!, The Angry Beavers, CatDog.

I'm loving the Nickelodeon channels on PlutoTV- I haven't seen every show on them, but they have a great selection.

For "newer" Nick shows, I mentioned my love of iCarly, but I always watched Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh like you. I also always liked SpongeBob, True Jackson VP, I've recently started watching Victorious (I was interested back in the day but just never caught it), Sam and Cat, The Fairly Oddparents. Good stuff.

I'm 28, and also a Nickelodeon child of the 90's. I love(d) most of the shows you mentioned, although I was falling out of the channel by the late 90's in lieu of Cartoon Network. When I turned onto Nick after that, it was primarily for the shows that I already liked, such as Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and All That. I still don't get the appeal of SpongeBob, tbh.

My favorite post-90's Nick show (besides maybe Invader Zim) was Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. It was lovingly zany and had surprisingly good character development. I never liked Scott Fellows' other shows as much. I thought he got the best balance on that show. I used to like Dan Schneider's shows too, but I got tired of how broad and loud they are. Finding out about how gross he is didn't help with my opinion on him either.

For current CN shows, I really like The Amazing World of Gumball- I think it's really cute. I like Teen Titans Go & We Bare Bears. I'll watch DC Super Hero Girls; I don't like it as much as the other shows I mentioned, but I watch it. I don't think I've seen Unikitty yet, but I like the Lego movies, so I need to catch that.

Growing up, not counting the classic cartoons CN would play, because I'd watch those (like Looney Tunes, The Jetsons, etc.) I'd watch Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, Powerpuff Girls...it's funny because pretty much once the '00s hit, looking at the shows on Wikipedia, I didn't watch CN at all. As far as Adult Swim, my husband is a HUGE Rick and Morty fan, so of course we watch that, and we watch Robot Chicken. I like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Mr. Pickles, too. I've seen Metalocalypse; my husband's a fairly big fan of it; I like it, but it's not my fave. I haven't seen too much Adventure Time, but I like what I've seen. And not original CN shows, but Bob's Burgers is my favorite non-Disney cartoon ever; I like Family Guy and American Dad, too.

It wasn't retail stores. It was some sort of place connected to Uncle Remus or something like that where they were being sold as the original Disney film.

Cool, if you lived in Orlando you must have been able to go to Disney World often.

I remember a few of those NickToons like Hey Arnold!, CatDog, Doug, and Rugrats. Rugrats is a classic and I know Hey Arnold! has quite a fanbase as well. Same with Doug I think. Wasn't Doug on Disney Channel for a while or am I getting it mixed with something else?

I've seen a little bit of Victorious because of my sisters and I probably would like it because of Victoria Justice. Sam and Cat never appealed to me because I'm not an Ariana Grande fan and I never liked Sam's character. I watched a lot of Spongebob and The Fairly Oddparents though back in the day alongside Jimmy Neutron.


Going back to DCOMs, I found out that Kimberly J. Brown wasn't busy with another film when Return to Halloweentown was being shot. I was under the impression there was a scheduling conflict which is why she couldn't reprise the role but she admitted that not only was she free but she was willing to do another movie but Disney never asked for her back. I think that's awful of Disney to not retain their lead actress who had done so many projects for them. This was around the time when HSM and Hannah Montana were really big, unlike when the first three films came out, so I hope Disney didn't recast because they wanted a new actress who had the more stereotypical Hollywood/Disney Channel Star look. Very disappointing but I also did learn that Kimberly J. Brown's boyfriend is none other than the guy who played Cal in Halloween 2. I always thought they had a lot of chemistry together so it's so neat that they're together! I would have loved to have seen him come back in a future film and be redeemed since the film (which I just rewatched today) left his fate open with him still alive and it was clear that Marnie felt he wasn't a lost case.

I completely forgot about that show. I also liked it a lot especially since Lindsay Shaw ended up on Pretty Little Liars afterwards. Haven't thought about this show in ages though. What happened with Dan Schneider?

Yeah, I worked @ WDW not long after moving to Orlando, but then after that I had a pass a lot of the time. I moved away, but moved back to FL and I'm not too far from WDW now, which is nice.

Yeah, Disney made new episodes of Doug on One Saturday Morning.

My favorite Cartoon Network show (or, really, non-classic cartoon in general) is Ed, Edd n' Eddy. I love the animation, music, character building, and ability to bend style and jokes so very much. But I also loved most of the shows from that time. My other favorite was probably Sheep in the Big City, which I adored and wish that it ran longer, but it was probably too weird for most. Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Courage, and Billy & Mandy are all great too. But just as much as their originals, I was attracted to Cartoon Network for their classics, especially the Looney Tunes and MGM shorts. I do also have a soft-spot for a bunch of classic Hanna-Barbera shows, and Rocky & Bullwinkle is another big favorite. And an equal love for me at the time was Toonami, which sucked me in with anime like Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Gundam, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo!, (probably my favorite anime ever) Yu Yu Hakusho, and the DC shows. Those were like my soaps!

For the more recent stuff, I like a lot of them! What can I say, animation is a major passion of mine, which is why I'm so into Disney. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Steven Universe, Clarence, Over the Garden Wall, OK KO, Infinity Train, and Craig of the Creek are all great shows in my eyes. I do also like Uncle Grandpa, Teen Titans Go!, and We Bare Bears, but less so. And I'm also a fan of [adult swim], and have been since day 1. Of the currently airing stuff, I do like Rick and Morty and Joe Pera Talks with You (one of the non-animated shows, but it's really delightful, especially if you're a fan of small town America), and I do still watch Toonami on Sundays.

As for Nickelodeon, my favorite Nicktoons are Rocko's Modern Life and Invader Zim. To round up a top 5, I'd probably add Rugrats and Hey Arnold for sure, and probably have a fight to the death between Ren & Stimpy, As Told by Ginger, and Avatar. I used to love Doug a lot as a kid, but it doesn't do as much for me now. It'd be right after those, though. For live-action shows, my favorite from the 90's was Clarissa Explains It All, followed by Pete & Pete, Salute Your Shorts, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, All That, and Kenan & Kel. I also liked most of the game shows. You Can't Do That on Television was a little before my time, but I saw a bunch of episodes later on and I think it's a fun show, and worth watching if at least for historical context.

Sometimes it feels like Nick doesn't want you to remember that show, since they never really acknowledge it anymore. Even on TeenNick, which airs a lot of their other live-action shows from the same era, and the Nick Rewind block which is also supposed to, they never do.

As for Schneider, keep in mind that the sources who were intending to come out still haven't, from what I understand. But it sounds like he's a major creep, to say the least.

Oh wow he sounds like a freak. That seems like a lot of information and sources against him and it's frightening to find out how many fan favorite shows he was part of creating all the while exploiting so many innocents.

I was just never crazy about Nickelodeon. Something about the zany, weird vibe of most of its shows wasn't for me. The majority of CN's shows are similar to me though. The shows I did like from Nick were Clarissa Knows It All, Invader Zim, Avatar / TLOK, The Wild Thornberrys, As Told by Ginger, Rugrats, and Rocket Power.

As for your other post, I actually did watch Ed, Edd, n Eddy, too, just because I always liked the middle Edd (the rational one). I didn’t really love the show as a whole other than that, although the female characters would always make me laugh. I remember being a fan of Captain Planet, although it's unwatchable as an adult--just like Power Rangers.

I love Tenchi Muyo! and Outlaw Star (as well as Sailor Moon / YYH, too, but who doesn’t love those two? ). Muyo! definitely had the best animation, but I loved Universe because it has more of a story and Ryoko is treated like the end-game love interest. She was always my favorite and my pick for Tenchi. I rage-hate Tenchi in Tokyo though. I didn’t care for Gundam Wing when I was a child, but I watched it again recently and realized the show had just been way over my head at that age. I like it now. Relena and Heero were my favorite part of the re-watch, which is funny because I used to hate Relena as a kid. I also enjoyed Cardcaptors, Bleach, Samurai 7, FMA: Brotherhood, Inuyasha. And I love a lot of the new shows they’ve been airing recently—MHA, Demon Slayer, Fire Force, Dr. Stone, Lupin, etc. I wish I'd been paying attention to Toonami in the time they played One Piece, because I'd like to see it from the beginning sometime; I watched the majority of Fairy Tail a few months back and loved it, but I wish it would get played on Toonami, too. And I spoke in another section last week about my love for ReBoot, so I’ll leave off that.

I love The Amazing World of Gumball. It, Courage, and Steven Universe are the only CN shows I love, although I like Over the Garden Wall which Avaitor mentioned and Teen Titans, too, especially Starfire. You mentioned old cartoons, and most of those were hard for me to take--especially The Jetsons, ugh. I did love The Smurfs though, and watched Scooby Doo pretty often. I enjoyed Tiny Toon Adventures much more than I ever did Looney Tunes. I think the only characters on Looney Tunes I enjoyed were Speedy Gonzales and the skunk that was always chasing after that poor cat.

--I just wanted to tack onto my post since I was talking about Nickelodeon that I actually read last week that Christina Aguilera was cast in a live-action movie to play Angelica's mother. And I think she'll be perfect actually. Something about the eye-shadow and the ponytail looks so much like Christina to me.

^Yes, I read that Xtina will be Angelica's mom, too! I don't need a live-action Rugrats (but I'd rather a live-action movie made out of a tv show than a live-action movie remake...), but I think not only does she have the look, she has the right attitude, I'm sure, so I think she's a great choice.

I agree, I was more shocked by the news that there is a live-action Rugrats film being made at all. About as weird as the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks films or Detective Pikachu or the new Sonic film, I guess.

Heh, I remember thinking that Universe was lame, but Tenchi in Tokyo was a lot of fun, but looking at them now, I think my opinion would switch if I got around to seeing them again. I remember being disappointed that a lot of Universe was a repeat of the first series, which I could get over now. I did rewatch the original OVAs a few years ago and thought that it was still a fun series (Ryoko's my favorite, too- and I still wish that I could've had that Ryo-Ohki backpack my local comic book shop used to sell when they had more anime merch), so it's probably worth the investment.

I enjoy all of those shows from modern Toonami, aside from Fire Force- I just couldn't get into it. I remember being disappointed in the block's revival when it started, but I've been way back into it for the past few years. With SAO done for now, I'll finally have an hour and a half I can watch straight from it, with MHA, Demon Slayer, and Food Wars. That and Jojo are all I currently watch.

Do you mean that you wish that you caught One Piece on the block 10-15 years ago, from a few years later, or both? Because when it was originally on the block, it was the 4Kids dub for a while- I think it only stayed on the air with the Funimation dub for only a year. The 4Kids dub is... yeah. When the new Toonami got it, they skipped up a bunch of arcs. Although personally, it took me a long time to actually get into One Piece. The original 4Kids dub was obviously a turn-off, but I did try the sub a few years later and didn't get the hype. It wasn't until a few years ago that I started reading the manga when I slowly started to get into it more. It's still not my favorite, but I can see why it has such a dedicated following.

I used to love ReBoot! Haven't seen it in forever, though. I wanted to watch it again when I saw that the VRV app had it streaming, but I don't think they had it anymore. I remember it being another example of Tony Jay kicking ass in voice acting in the 90's.

I used to feel the same way about Samurai Jack. It was one I'd watch sometimes and liked the action, but didn't like how it went nowhere. But I do appreciate how stylistically ambitious it is now, especially now that I've seen most of the movies and comics Genndy Tartakovsky was influenced by to make it. The last season helped in that regard, too, as there was finally closure, even if I didn't 100% love the ending.

When I was in middle school I used to love Robot Chicken and always had it on when it was airing, but I agree with you now. I just don't think it's very clever. I'm not against violence or sex jokes, but I don't think there's much to it beyond them. I skipped out on Moral Orel when it first aired, but I saw the first episode recently, and yeah, I can see how it's pretty dark. I didn't really laugh, but I'm curious to get around to more of it.

Daria is one of my all-time favorites! Definitely in my top 10, if not my top 5. I even got the Pop of her from when my manager went to Comic Con. I feel like she's going to be a one-off though, which is disappointing, since I want Jane at least, if not the rest of the cast. It was one of the few shows my sister and I could agree on way back when, so it has a special place in my heart for that alone. The fact that it's still funny and has some smart things to say are other factors.

Wait, the Rugrats movie is still happening? I heard about that, but thought it was going to development hell. I'm definitely curious if Xtina is going to play Charlotte, though. She seems like the perfect choice. I'm just worried about the babies. Are they going to be played by real infants, or are they going to be CG? They did not have nice designs, so I'm expecting uncanny valley-level content from them.

Yes, Tony Jay was amazing on ReBoot. Frollo probably got to show off the maximum of his talents thanks to the music, but he'll always be Megabyte for me. re: Daria: A pop of Trent would be really cute, too! And same with Kevin and Brittany.

Yeah, I definitely don’t agree with that first one. I don't hate her (I know Avaitor is a big fan, too), but I’ve never been crazy about her voice, personally. I don’t like Joe Jonas much either (he was also in Camp Rock, right?). Demi has had some songs I’ve enjoyed though: “Sorry Not Sorry” is probably my favorite of hers, but there’s also “Skyscraper,” “Cool For the Summer,” “Confident,” and “Stone Cold.” I enjoyed her duet with Christina, too, “Fall in Line.” I know "Heart Attack" was supposed to be Pia Toscano's lead single before she got dropped and Demi ended up with it. While I'm breaking out the Idol factoids, "Skyscraper" was almost Jordin Sparks' once, I believe.

The Chad / Ryan thing is my opinion. I never expected Disney to be open with it, only go there tangentially, but I always shipped them regardless. Ryan with the piano girl was always so random to me. Ms. Darbus with the Coach would’ve been really cute! I agree about Troy and Gabriella being boring.

I didn’t watch much of The Suite Life, but Cody was my favorite character. It wasn’t until last year when I was surfing Wikipedia that I realized Jodi from Supernatural was the mom on Suite Life. I know she dyed her hair dark, but I can’t believe I never realized that on my own. I love her appearances on Supernatural.

I didn’t think Lizzie was annoying—she was just realistic. When you’re that young, you want to fit in, be liked, ideally be popular, etc. She was very insecure, like most kids that age. That’s why I had always wanted her to end up with Gordo because he was self-assured even though others made fun of him. It would’ve meant she’d finally got over her insecurity and stopped caring what everyone else thought.

I think I would’ve liked Riley and Maya ending up together on GMW, too… They did have chemistry. But I know they were trying to re-create BMW, but with female leads in Shawn’s and Corey’s place and they wouldn't have deviated from that.

(I was working earlier so couldn't post my thoughts too.) As much as I love the Camp Rock movies and their soundtracks, HSM >>> Camp Rock. I didn't know "Heart Attack" and "Skyscraper" weren't always meant for Demi. I'm glad she got them, don't hate me. <3 (I like Jordin, but <3 Demi)

I think that Troy/Gabriella are fine, but I too am boring.

I still have yet to watch GMM, but with D+ hopefully someday I'll watch it. I love Sabrina Carpenter's music, though!

I'm pretty sure I mentioned it earlier, but I agree with Good Luck, Charlie being a gem. And obviously you know of my love for Dog With a Blog.

Well, Demi does sound better on recording than she does live. I love Jordin though. I loved Pia's voice, too, I hated that she never got an album. "Heart Attack" wasn't that great of a song though, so she probably wouldn't have made it on that anyway. It was okay for a mid-career single like with Demi, but not as something you begin with, I don't think.

ha, it's all good, we all have our preferences (although as much as I admire Demi, I don't love everything she's done- her new duet with Sam Smith is meh, imo). I don't have a horse in the HSM vs Camp Rock race, as I never saw HSM.

I also don't have much to add about most of these opinions, really. I could have seen Riley and Maya work out well though, and knowing how woke both of them are irl, I think they would have been for it. I missed out on Girl Meets World around halfway through season 2 though, so I'm not sure how that would have worked in the end.

I just watched the video. I watched Sonny all the time but never really saw the standalone So Random (I guess no cable by the time that show came on), so I didn't know all of the people on the video, but it was a really nice cast reunion! <3
