I just got this weird feeling that maybe the 3-disc art is just the art for the slipcover, and the art for the CASE is the same as the 1-disc. So maybe we aren't stuck with a "3-DISC SPECIAL EDITION" text on the side.

Garbage Airlock must be the "Wall-e." "M-O!" from the trailer but it was changed around in the movie. Amazing part in the trailer by the way!

The Test Easter Egg. This may only be 11 seconds but it sounds so interesting! It might be an animation test to get WALL-E's character, hence there is only one L in the name.

I used to hate the word geek, but I have come to find similarities in what I and Pixarians geek over so that Geek-o-Rama sounds very interesting!

I went to The Disney Store today to reserve this so I could get it's lithographs, but they said they aren't getting the 3-disc version with the Digital copy for blu-ray. Do you think this is true? The lady didn't seem all that confident when she told me.

I'm just confused about what to do. I would really like the lithographs, but I want the 3 disc version...

You can order the 3-disc versions online on DisneyShopping.com and get the lithographs there.

Bah! So far, the best place to get the 3-disc DVD WALL-E is Amazon.com at 22.99. Everywhere else is 34.99, I am pretty positive there won't be any freebies that are worth $12!

That's funny, i just went to disneyshopping.com to go ahead and get that copy of the 3-disc edition (thank you magicalwands), but i noticed the blu-ray and the regular DVD are marked at the same price...

Was just thinking/wondering...These 3-Disc Special Editions (both DVD and Bluray) are labeled "3-Disc Special Edition + Digital Copy" on Amazon

So will there be 3 Discs of material + a digital copy disc ? Or will it be 2 Discs of material + a digital copy disc...If it's the latter they really shouldn't be marketing it as 3+Digital Copy.

Also... Amazon has both the 2 and 3 Disc versions on Bluray for the same price of $24.95. The 2 Disc has the normal cover and if all the 3rd disc is, is that digital copy, Then the people wanting a normal cover without "3 Disc Special Edition" down the spine can always order the 2 Disc and not worry about it :)

That needs to be fixed. No matter how you read it, the plus could never be read as "includes Digital Copy" without people thinking it is a total of 4-discs.

Since it's printed "3-Disc DVD" on the spine, every time I look up at my shelf it will be a constant reminder of the wasteful third disc being a lame digital copy. I am still debating whether I want the single or triple disc DVD.

It's great that the Blu-Ray is only three bucks more than the DVD! Stores are selling the 3-disc DVD for 34.99, and Blu-rays for 29.99/39.99.

Well, if you read it as a 'Special Edition + digital copy' which has three discs, it makes sense again :).

Well, I'm glad it will finally be a stacked dvd release of a Pixar film. Cars and Ratatouille were disappointing to me.

Thank you very much for organizing everything, Escapay! Every time I try to comprehend everything in my mind, all the 0's confuse me.

This looks like a promising release. :)

I think the featurettes are just those which were available on youtube but renamed. "Lots of Bots" is one found on youtube and probably has been given a new name "Robo Everything"?

Escapay, what does it mean when something has "not been passed"? Does it have to go through with the Disney Executives before putting it out to the public?

Thanks for the organization, Albert! This definitely looks like a better release than Cars and Ratatouille (even their pretty decent BD counterparts), and probably better than Finding Nemo's, too. With this, Sleeping Beauty, and Narnia, it's good to see Disney putting some real effort into their titles again.

Enjoy it while it lasts is my theory. Wait till we get sub-par transfers of The Gnome Mobile and In Search of the Castaways. people won't be so happy then.

(of course I would love to be proven wrong Disney: HINT HINT)

No problem! I enjoy organizing things like this!

I haven't seen any online featurettes, but given that Cars and Ratatouille both had a series of online featurettes (some of the Cars ones were released on Wal-Mart and Target-exclusive DVDs, while I don't think any of the Ratatouille ones have seen the light of day.), it's possible that WALL-E had them too and they're being ported to the DVD.
magicalwands wrote:Escapay, what does it mean when something has "not been passed"?
It hasn't been passed by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). Every piece of media has to be passed and certified by the BBFC, otherwise retailers don't carry it. Since "Tour of the Universe" is allegedly a US-only thing, it wasn't passed for BBFC (which would put it in the UK release).
Kelvin wrote:With this, Sleeping Beauty, and Narnia, it's good to see Disney putting some real effort into their titles again.
I agree. I just hope it lasts long enough to see The Rocketeer get DVD re-release and Blu-Ray release that finally gives it the attention, restoration, anamorphicism, and extras it deserves.

*COUGHdoubtful*COUGH!!!

But in all seriousness, I am very surprised to see attention being paid to these releases. I doubt it will last long, though. Disney loves to jump between "pleasing fans" and "completely annoying them".

Is November 18th still the release date for SURE? I have Wall-E in my rental list on Netflix (even though I plan to purchase it) and its gone from November 18 to "unknown" for the release date. :o

I think I'll trust the official site for the DVD release date.
