Is anyone having trouble finding ALL of the Treasures today? I found two of them at Best Buy and after calling EVERY store in our area, I finally found Donald at a Target. Guess my lunch break will be spent running from one store to another. Because I like to have them in my hand, I didn't order online. I'm using Amazon next year, that's for sure!! It's crazy to have to chase them down all over town!!

As I said before, I would like to try and get all three for Christmas. They're on my wish list to be sure.
Oh, and the sets are now starting to get their reviews, one by one, starting with the Disneyland one:

A guy I talked with at Target said they only two of each release. Both of the Disneyland ones were gone and I got the last Donald. Both Oswalds were still there.

I read the Treasures review posted today, and am pleased to see that it heartily praises the video quality. It mentioned the "bump" that sidetracked the Treasures two years ago. Personally, I've come up with the basic difference which separates the Wave 5 Treasures from the Wave 6 Treasures (in general), so hear me out, OK?
Wave 6, last year still didn't look too good, but I guess it was better than Wave 5. Take a look at Pluto Vol. 2 and you'll see that it bears many flecks and print imperfections, but nevertheless colours have been reproduced faithfully and video is sharp.
Now take a look at Donald Vol. 2, and you'll see that besides the print imperfections,
there is also a strange distortion to the picture, mostly seen on edges. This "distortion" makes edges seem to
flicker or give them a slight
"zig-zaggy" effect. As a result, the picture looks messy and dull. What's most infuriating is that this does not appear to be the result of a poor restoration, but more like the consequence of
poor DVD mastering. In other words, these video problems came into effect when the DVD was being authored and designed and the like. At least, that's what I think.
Please reply. I know this is a really old topic everyone is sick of, but ... oh well just do it!

I went to Best Buy at opening more out of concern of missing them on sale then getting the three titles- only donald and Disneyland were on the shelf, but they were able to bring a box of Oswalds out after inquiring

My Best Buy kept Oswald in back, too—under the belief that the "two for $40" sale only applied to Donald and Disneyland, and that they'd put Oswald out on display later. When I asked, though, they went and got me one; and when the cashier rang the DVDs up for me, Oswald came through with a discount, too, as originally announced.
It seems as if Best Buy has circulated an internal memo that erroneously excludes Oswald from their discount sale... when he's actually part of it.

Well, I have no idea why the Wave 5 and 6 DVDs looked much the worse for wear and that got me a bit ticked off, too. Fortunately, more often than not, to me, the video quality took a back seat to the entertainment as a whole.

I guess I was lucky, I didn't have any problem finding the Treasures at my local Best Buy. All three were prominently displayed out on the shelf. I bought two Disneyland titles to get the cheaper price on the others.
I just posted several pictures of my collection and Treasures on the "Post a Photo" thread, but thought I'd put a picture of all the Treasures in a row on this one.
How do all of you order your Treasures? I have had a really hard time this time finding a suitable order.
My Treasures and order is picture below, click on photo to enlarge.

Shouldn't you put the Disney Rarities on the very left-hand side of the shelf? They contain select episodes of the Alice Comedies, which came before Oswald did.

It also contains numerous shorts that came after most of the other shorts. I think the order on that shelf is well within what's reasonable and logical.

I have mine ordered similarly, but include Davy Crocket and Elfago Baca/Swamp Fox next to the Anthology sets and before the MMC sets.
I also noticed how you have the cases alternating black and white... nice

I managed to pick up Oswald and Donald Duck. I'm hoping Disneyland will be under my Christmas Tree.
I got:
Oswald #116,357 of 120,000
Donald Duck 3 #49,893 of 50,000

So are there now only 107 copies of that one left now?

No. That's the number on the certificate of authenticity.

I picked up all three at Best Buy today. They had all three pretty well stocked. I got Disneyland 1,726/50,000 Donald 41,192/50,000 and Oswald 83,215/120,000

I have my Treasures sorted by genre, year, then subject. For example I now go Oswald, the 4 Mickey's, Silly Symphonies/Disney Rarities/war cartoons the 4 Donalds, Goofy, Pluto, and then I go right into Snow White on. So my Disney animation is in chronological order as close as possible. I have the live action ones inserted into my Disney live action section in chronological order as well.

I forgot these were coming out today. I went to Best Buy and the store was super busy and since I work at their corporate office I went to another less busy store so the employees could concentrate on the customers.
Both stores I went to has all 3 in stock. I haven't looked at the video content yet but the ticket book is awesome!
What really surprised me (and numbers usually don't mean anything to me) is that my Disneyland set is # 120 out of 50,000. Donald is somewhere in the 35,000 range and Oswald is 61,000 something.
On all 3 of my tins, the back paper piece is not glued on very well and they all fell off. I wish they were inked onto the tins like the old days. I was surprised how nice the gold tin looked in person.
Take care,
Greg

So unofficially I got Disneyland today as well. My sister got it for me today, (I was with her) and I'll be getting it under the tree in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to watch it. It was the only copy HMV had, Future Shop didn't have any, Walmart didn't have any, so it may have been the only copy left in town.
