The Little Mermaid III: Bean Spilling

Okay, it's time Disney Duster spilt the beans. I have been holding back some information regarding The Little Mermaid III. In fact, I've known this for a little less than a month ago. Why was I keeping it a secret? Because I didn't want the excitement over this The Little Mermaid III news to eclipse the excitement of Cinderella III. Now, I know, that's a bit selfish, and I probably should have told you guys just a few days before Cinderella III came out so that you would be excited but then focus back on Cinderella. I'm sorry, guys, if you are angry at me for keeping this a secret for so long. But, without further regrets, I will spill those beans.

Over at The Little Ariel Forum, they have very dedicated fans. And personally, I wanted to let their knowledge be available just to them for a while, because they are the most deserving, in my opinion, as their forum is all about Ariel. But now, Prudence has actually revealed a bit of this news already, and the French Disney Central Plaza already knows, so it's really time for you guys to get in on it!

Remember the Disney DVD Game World: Disney Princess Edition? Well, a few questions on that game that players had to answer actually were about The Little Mermaid III! Very interesting, since they could have included them so that whoever plays the game in the future would know, but they didn't include a subtitle after the III. Huh. Anyway, a member named Ariel was kind enough to tell us about the questions and the answers! I will reveal them in the order of what in what my opinion is the least exciting to the most exciting! So here comes the beans! And I am paraphrasing the questions, since I never saw the way they were originally worded, so the spellings may not be correct, or a mistake could be made:

  • Question: In The Little Mermaid III, which of Sebastian's instruments does Ariel find?
    Answer: Maracas.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, what is the name of Sebastian's music club?
    Answer: The Catfish Club.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, what is the password to get into Sebastian's secret club?
Answer: Sea Monkey See, Sea Monkey Do.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, which event are Ariel and her sisters practicing for with Miss Del Rey?
    Answer: The Lunar Tide Festival.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, what type of fish are Jag and Pierre?
    Answer: Sword fish.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, what musical gift do Ariel and her sisters give their mother?
    Answer: A music box.

Question: In The Little Mermaid III, what is the name of Ariel's mother?
    Answer: Athena
Prudence and some of the members at Disney Central Plaza already knew about Athena, but now everyone here can finally know!

Oooh, I'm anxious now! When can we expect it? I also think the starter of this thread should post all known info on the front page a la the Enchanted Tales thread, for people just joining the convo (I don't know if that's you who started the thread or not, Disney Duster)

No problem, Disney Duster! I think what you did was really fair. So I'm not angry.

Anyway, thank you so much for the info! :D It at least answered a few questions, but leaves a lot to be desired.

But aww, why couldn't they mention the villain? :(

I think they may be henchmen for whoever the villain is; two fish of the same breed, one of whom has a ominous name... anyone else think it's possible? Of course, that may rule out Ursula, so hopefully Flotsam and Jetsam are the only henchmen in TLMIII!

Thank you so much Disney Duster! That was a wonderful, wonderful piece of news to read this morning!

It does seem very strange to inclue this info on teh Princess game; were there video clips to go along with it? As how would anyone know! :?

The info is really interesting; finially, is it 100% positive their mother is Athena. Wow! Ariel has a mother! Bit worried about their being so much Sebastian info....I want the movie to be about ARIEL, not Sebastian :)

Deffo going to be a prequal, as we all knew, but as for the storyboard about Eric and Ariel......I was thinking that Eric could have asked her about her mother, and she was telling him the story? That would follow the earlier story of 'Ariel's Melody', but Melody would be swapped for Eric!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU DISNEY DUSTER !! !! YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY !! !! :D :D :D

Yay, no one was mad at me. Oh, and I spelled festival as "Fetival" before, so just know that Ariel and her sisters practice for The Lunar Tide Festival.
Daniel Jake wrote:But aww, why couldn't they mention the villain? :(
Well, another member said they knew someone who worked on the film and that someone said that Ursula would be in it. But I'm not believing it fully until I see more info. And your welcome for the info, I'm so happy you saw it. I'm so happy we've been seeing you around UD more!

I think Jag and Pierre kind of sound like henchman, just like Cloak and Dagger. But they could just be new friends, since Pierre doesn't sound too evil to me. You know what I really want to see? I want to see how Flotsam and Jetsam came to be Ursula's lackeys. Did she offer them powers? Did she give them their magic, yellow, glowing eyes? Or were they already that way? They're like my favorite characters after Ursula.

Atlanticauderthesea, I'm not playing favorites here but I really couldn't wait to see your reaction, since you are a die-hard Mermaid fan who I've talked to the most. I'm so glad I made your day! I don't think the questions came with video clips on the basis that the member who first gave the information never said so, and new video clips would be so important they would try to make screencaps or at least say something about them!!! Oh, and I was really worried that so many questions were about Sebastian, too. That sounds more like an episode of the series, not a dramatic movie! But with the storm, the flashing eyes, and the dropped locket in the trailer, I'm sure there's something more exciting in store!

Thanks ;)

I have children, this is the reason for that I see the sequels.
I love Disney and their classics, but I hate the sequels because dishonor the classics

Thanks Disney Duster for thinking of me! It was kinda stupidto ask about there being video clips; if there was any, I'm sure you would have mentioned them!

I suppose that they related the questions to Sebastian, as he featured largely in the 'musical sneak peak', and he was presumably singing in his club then. Anything more would have given away the plot, which they are being very, very secrative about. The trailer was immence to say the least, so I am sure the movie will follow suit! Remember what you told us a while ago, that the movie was so good, they added more scenes to make it longer? That still gives me great hope!

As for Ursula, I have heard from quite a few places that she will be back; so fingers crossed!

Yeah, as much as I like to jump up with joy, I'll be waiting for some more information to. I just really hope its true, because it would make the movie soooo much better! :D

You've noticiced. ;) Thanks!

I have to admit, that when Disney Duster said he (she? ) had some info, I was hoping it would be a picture of Athena. :P   Not to belittle the information you gave us, I'm super-thankful you did, but I'm betting that she has black hair and I want to find out if I'm right. I hope that they either keep her a secret until the DVD is released or until the cover art is (I'm hoping she'll be on it).
