I am currently watching The Golden Girls: Seasons 5 on DVD. Currently the Golden Girls is the only TV show I own on DVD. I have the first five seasons, and I am anxiously awaiting Season 6 on November 14th. I'm contemplating buying Will and Grace and Friends DVD sets too, but by the time you buy them all it's awfully pricy. I want 90210 to come to DVD too, but all 10 seasons will cost a pretty penny!!

I recently finished Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Six. Some of my all-time favorite episodes are on this set, including "Frame of Mind," "Tapestry," "Descent," and "Chain of Command, Part 2." I also saw a couple of great episodes for the first time, such as "Rightful Heir" and "Lessons." It's tough to pick a favorite season of TNG, but Season Six is in my top three, along with the third and fourth seasons.[/b]

<b>NUMB3RS, season 2</b>. I'm surprised that I'm the only one I know (both online and offline) who loves this show. It's not the greatest crime drama ever made, but its characters and premise are entertaining enough to cancel out all the cliches (e.g. Charlie's math always saving the day, awkward exposition through dialogue, etc.). I thought that the the David Krumholtz connection would've piqued the interest of UDers (Krumholtz was Bernard in the Santa Clause movies), but apparently not.

Peep Show S2

The first Peep Show was a bit "meh", making the mistake ending with an episode of "shock humour", without actually being funny. I don't mind the odd but of tasteless humour, as long as its funny.

Anyhow, I saw S2 for £6.66 (the number of the beast!) and decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did, some of this was absolutely hilarious. I don't know of any other comedy which has risen so far in-between series.

It has it's own identity now - the 'gimmick' of seeing events through people's own eyes with their inner thoughts in voice over doesn't even seen new or groundbreaking now (and I mean that in a good way). Its just seems perfectly natural. See discover how inept and awkward Mark is when chatting to the ladies. The best episode was when Mark followed the shoe-shop assistant to university ("Not stalking! I'm not stalking!" as his inner-monologue constanty tried to convince himself) and ended up blagging his way into a tutorial. :D

Charmed Season 3. I have to say that I was rather confused by the last episode of this season. There were several episodes that I missed during this season and the final one where Prue dies was one of them. Anyway, it seemed like it ended so abruptly and then a few things didn't seemed resolved. Even with watching the first couple of episodes from Season 4 doesn't seem to resolve them. Oh well. Still its a great show and am probably going to get through season 4 pretty quickly.

After putting it off for several months I finally watched and finished Crime Story - Season Two. Dennis Farina really rocks on this show, and it was one of a kind when it came to telling a story over a whole season.

Well I recently watched The Comeback: The <strike>First</strike> Only Season.

I'd never seen it so the I went into the DVD blind.

I have to say, who knew teh Kudrow could act?

It was absolutely brilliant, I can't prasie it enough. Superb writing and acting I can't believe it was so under recieved.

As 2099net pointed out somewhere a while back Valerie is a very "British" comedy character, meaning that she is flawed. And I couldn't agree more. Whereas most American sitcoms tend to focus on characters that are happy and smiley, the main characters in British sitcoms are flawed, yet you still love them like the arrogant Basil Fawlty or the snobbish Hyacinth Bucket. That is precisley what Valerie is, you don't watch the show smiling and thinking "What a nice person". Sometimes you lover, her sometimes you feel sorry for her, sometimes you feel her embarrassment and sometimes you loathe her selfishness! She a wonderful creation! A truely brilliant character needs to be flawed, if they are nice all the time it is boring. Take Will and Grace, the two main characters are dull and everyone I know liked the side characters Karen and Jack infinitely more, Karen the abusive drunk bitch with marital problems and Jack, vain and selfish, masking his true lack of self esteem! The more meaty a character, the more you respond to them. A character doesn't always have to be a person you'd want to be friends with to be funny!

Anyway, I'm not saying series isn't without wobble, but you get over it and the genius shines through.

I pray rumours about a 2nd season coming for the fall 2007 schedule are not merely hear'say!
