It's alright. I too wanted it to work out but alas it's not to be.

Nope there are no special features that Australia isn't getting. So yeah the only difference is that the US version will come with a nice cardboard shiny slipcase over the DVD and you won't have that horrible big green ratings G on the front cover either.

Australia will technically get it first (Monday/Tuesday of that week) because if you order it from the States the earliest it will arrive is Friday of the week it's out...and thats with fairly expensive shipping costs.

If you're just after the movie and not really a DVD collector then just get it from Australia...or get both like I'm planning on doing! Then again I have 900+ DVDs...

hehe thats so awesome that were not missing anything!

that was the main reason i was gonna get the US version
cos in other dvds stuff has been missing!

hey as someone with 900+ dvds...

are the menu's from AUS to US dvds the same or different

Oh no the menus are the same. There's no real reason to change the menu unless something major is missing, which in this case there isn't so they'll be exactly the same as you see them on this website.

Has anyone heard about when we will be getting Veronica Mars Season's 1 and 2 on DVD?

That's certainly a detour to what we had been talking about.

There's no news as yet about any release of Veronica Mars in Australia. Last time I emailed Warner they were still deciding on whether to release it here or not because the ratings haven't been great and so DVD sales may not be either.

It could be some time before we get it here. Just an example of how long things can take to come here - Laguna Beach Season 1 has been out in the States since July 2005 and we are only getting it finally in October of this year. So it can take some waiting.

Does anyone in Australia know if we will be receiving the upcoming release of MXC: Season 1. It's scheduled for release in the USA on the 3rd of October, and I just wanted to know if anyone's heard something for the Australian Release?
Also, has anyone heard something on The Fox and the Hound, it's set to be released in the U.S on October 10th, however I can't find either of these dates on ezydvd.com.au or any other Australian DVD websites.
If you could answer these questions, that would be great, as I don't want to wait 4-5 months, like we did with Lady and the Tramp.
Thanks,
Josh

Lol  Then again, this topic is called Australian Releases. Not, lets talk about The Little Mermaid's menu's and disc art for 3 pages. We already have a topic for that...and it's 45 pages!!!
Don't get me wrong, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin tie for my favourite movie, it's just I'm a big DVD collector, and until October 4th, I'll just have to continue my DVD collecting :D And I want Veronica Mars in there

Thanks heaps for your help though! I might try eBay and DeepDiscountdvd if there isn't any news within the next month.

I don't know anything about MXC. I can't find it even coming out in the States like you say. Is it just called MXC? Nothing comes up on Amazon when I type that in. And is it a Buena Vista title?

Australia will be getting Fox And The Hound S.E around December/January. No news yet on whether it will have all the same special features but most likely it will. Definative details about it will be available in the next month or so.

EyzDVD added two extra October releases, which aren't on Buena Vista Home Entertainment's web site yet:

4th October
Mulan
Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black Pearl

I assume Mulan is just a re-release of the last edition.

Do you think there is any chance Buena Vista Home Entertainment might reconsider relasing cartoon series season sets in future? or is there any way we could improve the chances of local releases?

They've just added some more to October 4th:

Atlantis - The Lost Empire
Cinderella / Cinderella 2 (2 Disc Set)
Dinosaur
Lilo And Stitch
Tarzan

I thought these would be 1 disc releases (well except the Cinderella double of course) but the price is $24.83 and no one would pay that for a single disc edition! My other thought is they could be Blu-Ray titles but thats impossible. They will be much more than $24.83 when they arrive next year. I guess we'll have to wait for more details.

Also these have been added for 8th November:

Con Air - Director's Cut
Crimson Tide - Director's Cut
Enemy Of The State - Director's Cut
Lilo And Stitch / Lilo And Stitch 2 (2 Disc Set)
Mulan / Mulan 2 (2 Disc Set)
Pocahontas / Pocahontas 2 (2 Disc Set)
Sin City (Frank Miller's) - Recut (2 Disc Set)
Tarzan / Tarzan 2 (2 Disc Set)

That's great news for everyone in Australia that's been waiting for Sin City - Recut. It's probably the best DVD special features package I've seen in a long time.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment just added their November releases, most of the earler dates on EzyDVD web were not accurate:

8th November
Cinderella / Cinderella 2
Lilo & Stitch / Lilo & Stitch 2
Mulan / Mulan 2
Pocahontas / Pocahontas 2
Sin City Recut (2 Discs)
Tarzan / Tarzan 2

15th November
Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest

Celebrate Christmas with Mickey, Donald and Friends was recently classified by the OFLC too, so I expect it will be a December release.

Actually, Disney listed that one a while ago.

http://www.bvhe.com.au/viewtitledetails?TITLE_ID=1864

It has an October 4 release date.

Your right, the title name was listed slightly differently on the OFLC web site, compared to the listing on Buena Vista Home Entertainment web site though.

It is actually amazing how many times Disney/BVHE incorrectly list their own products :D

what i want to know is how can ezydvd have the little mermaid
dvd & the little mermaid boxset cover art when bvhe.com.au
doesnt even have it yet?....

where did ezydvd get it from???? :?

The Buena Vista website is so badly managed. They probably don't realise the Little Mermaid art hasn't been posted yet. I know it was distributed to all EzyDVD stores and probably most other retailers in an email with info about it. It's definately the official cover art I can assure you.

I think the real question is Becka:

Why are they re-releasing Robin Hood?

What a stupid movie to re-release!

Where's Song Of The South?

Where's The Beef?

Hey I'm going to Tokyo.
Are you?
