[quote="Marielle"]The Count of Monte Cristo
EverAfterquote]
These are 2 great films! 2 of my favorites. Ever After is my favorite version of the cinderella story, and The Count of Monte Cristo is just a great story. You should read the book, it's awesome! I was a huge fan of the book before I saw the movie.
In addition to Mulan and Dawn of the Dead, I picked up Never Been Kissed (another good Drew Barrymore film)
I also picked up Jackie Brown the other day (another blind buy) and I think one other one but I may be mistaken, I can't think of what it was...

Kram gave me $20 to buy him Mulan at Wal-Mart when I come home this afternoon.
I think I'll pick up something for myself too.

Today my
Doctor Who: Lost In Time collection came. 3 discs full of 18 orphan episodes from stories the BBC decided to trash in their infinite wisdom

Plus lots of clips and 4 audio episodes, meaning that The Crusades and The Moonbase are presented as complete as they possibly can be (for now, hopefully more episodes will turn up in the near future).
And it even has a trailer for Episode one of Power of the Daleks. Yes, hear that Buena "Can't be arsed to include Mulan trailers" Vista? They include a trailer transmitted once on BBC one in 1966. Shame they don't include the audio for Patrick Troughton's famous Web of Fear episode one trailer. Then again, perhaps they did, each disc is supposed to feature easter eggs.
Oh, I also got
Teachers: Series 4 4 disc set.

Not a DVD, but I went to Walgreens Friday night looking for a death costume and found they had
Around the World in 80 Days(2004) already on sale! I didn't want this one on DVD seeing the extras look like crap, but I got the VHS for (get this:)$18!!!

Now that's pricy, but for 4 days early, I'll deal!

$18 for a pan-and-scan of a 2.35:1 film on a degrading, dying format with no bonus features whatsoever? I think you'd be as good spending $18 to have some irate tot kick you in the shins repeatedly. Just my opinion.
How much more was the DVD?

DVD was $32.95. Foolscreen only. And I still buy VHS; a lot of people do.
It won't be dying at least until 2006.

Dying? VHS is dead and has been that way... any tapes still being sold should be considered zombies.

Thanks for your permission!
Seriously tho, why would anyone who owns a DVD player want to buy ANYTHING on VHS that they can get on DVD? There are no advantages to buying that format at this point.

Other than the fact that you can see VHS on a 9' TV, which I use to watch in my room.

As Kram pointed out, I got him Mulan (well, he gave me the 20 bucks as I said earlier, but still, Mulan was purchased and now resides in my brother's room).
Also, at Bandit Video Games, I found very good used copies of To Kill A Mockingbird and Battlestar Galactica (first DVD release, the movie version form 1978), both for $7.95
I think I'll go back there on Wednesday and pick up a couple more $7.95 titles I saw.

Okay well I haven't bought too many DVDs lately. Two to three weeks ago I bought Aladdin, then the Van Helsing: Ultimate Edition on the 23rd. My most recent purchase was Mulan on the 26th.
