I got my Trilogy today and opened up all the cases to dispose of cellophane and tape. The Little Mermaid Platinum was the only one without a DMR code. That one's case actually didn't have anything in it.
I don't know if it was different since I'm in Canada, but I purchased The Little Mermaid Platinum Edition when it was first released here and dug it up and didn't see any mention of DMR.. It did have a DVD guide a couple of sheets showing various Little Mermaid merchandise..

Scroll back some pages, someone already posted pics of the lithos. They are one scene from each of the three films.
Can't say about the Peter Pan set, I accidentally saw my parents got it for me for Christmas but am not going to go snooping around to check it out further.
Yeah, the first pic is drastically improved - the original was horrid!

WELL! I am surprised at the animation changes! Thank God too, that short scene of Atina, Andrina, Aquata and Adella always IRKED me. So much better looking now

That new shot of Ariel looks rather swell too! And for some reason...the one with Morgana and Ariel...Ariel kinda looks like Vanessa to me...I think it's the evil face and eyebrow/lash combo.
Anyways now that I know it looks like 1.5% better then before...I'm excited!
(I think my bestfriend got this for me for Christmas, so it's all good

I just watched it! I know this movie gets trashed a lot.... but I always enjoy it....

Other than Ariel lookin' a little ugly now and then..... The new animation scenes look much better.... but I wish they had fixed Ariel's close up near the end of "For A Moment." She ain't too pretty there!
Oh and I enjoyed the deleted song! I don't see why it was cut. It wasn't
that great but none of the songs from the movie are. I like the little animation with Ursula too!

Oh man, I just saw the comparison screen caps... they look so much better! I'm so glad they did that! Too bad they couldn't re-animate the entire film lol. And yes, I agree, it sucks they didn't fix Ariel's close up at the end up "For a Moment". Probably what drives me most crazy in that movie is that seen where it seems like she has a case of giraffe-neck.
I can't wait to get my copy now!

WOW, you guys are good for spotting these changes lol. I would have never seen them. I told you all it looks so much better, just upset that it's cropped.
They should have changed that end scene from for a moment as well. Ariel looks so ugly lol.

My theory on why they didn't change the animation of Ariel at the end of For A Moment is because it is a much longer shot that fades between Ariel and Melody. There are no clear cuts to make it easy to substitute new animation and would have required recompositing multiple shots.

Are there more changes in animation except the sisters and the two Arielshots? They are really beautifully edited. Maybe someone could put them on youtube, maybe a comparension, because they didn't release the special edition in belgium

Am I the only one who doesn't like the altered scenes? I mean, well, I just don't like the one with the sisters. I find it very disrespectful for someone to change the original artists' work (no matter how terrible) just because the latest crew clearly did not do their research when recreating the character. Adella was fat not only in the series (which was also ignored anyway), but she was chubbier than the rest of the sisters in the original film. For them to "fix" someone else's work just because they couldn't do their research really irritates me. Plus, those bags under Adella's eyes make her look bulimic.
I'm a little on the fence about the redone Ariel scenes. Definitely a plus from me for the transformation scene, but the one with Morgana seems very unnecessary, considering she goes even more off model in other scenes. I'd much rather have something that needs to be fixed fixed than have something that is at least a little tolerable fixed.
In fact, holding them side-by-side, the main difference is a little more hair was added to the other side of Morgana's arm, and eyelashes were added to Ariel's eyes (causing her to look like Vanessa, who noticeably has more eyelashes than Ariel).

Exactly what I was thinking. Too bad, though. That would've made the song perfect for me, at least.
Can anyone confirm if Flounder was redone in the scene with Melody, when he's slamming himself against the wall? He goes SO off-model in that scene (looking like he does in the original film). And also if the scene with Ariel and Max was redone (the animation of Max running around in the ocean by the palace wall is very choppy)?
I'm still very surprised that they would redo those scenes. I'm aware of the "priest" scene in the original film, and how it was "flattened out", but that was due to urban legend. These are just noticeable flaws. If they were going to be doing this in the first place, they should have redone all the shots of Ariel and cleaned her eyebrows (her eyebrows get bushy like Eric and Melody's in some parts of the movie, when they're supposed to be lines), and fixed all of the aforementioned flaws (Ariel's neck, Flounder's flashback, Max's skipping). Retooling Melody whenever appropriate would've been great, as well.
Does anyone happen to know what the DVD menus of the original TLM2 release looked like and/or can provide (a) still(s)? OR can tell me if the menus were animated or not? Just curious, mainly.

I could be wrong, but I doubt that any of the original or non-AB characters in TLMII will be edited. I'm thinking that the same crew who did AB made these edits, which might be why the sisters (who noone cared about at the time TLMII was made) were edited and why some shots of Ariel were as well. Meaning that I don't think adult Flounder or Max will be edited. Too bad though, because Morgana would probably be the character who needs the most work. Maybe they've tweaked Triton a little bit in the introduction scene--he looks the worst there.

They should have edited in the 2 missing sisters in place of those random mermen at the beginning.

All these changes seem pointless to me. I mean, what's the use, unless they re-animate the whole movie. It's completely unnecessary.
Anyway, I finally saw AB and it was terrible. And even though RttS is visually less impressive and the story is a rehash of the TLM's story, at least it was interesting and somewhat memorable. AB bored me to death.

I bought the trilogy and the PP 3 movie collection. I really love them both and I now have an extra copy of TLM and PP to sell on amazon in 5 years or give to my god daughter.

I think the new version's much better (although it still needed more work than that overall), compared to those ugly before pics. (I just noticed them when I rewatched the film. Didn't catch the Morgana/Ariel shot though, but I'll rewatch it once again . . . because I enjoy the film overall.)
But seriously, I just don't get it - Disney was able to alter "FAT" Adella, but they couldn't fix Ariel's horribly long neck. What the HECK were they thinking?
I guess this version is so "special" because it's altered. yay, us.
