Actually, Hayley Mills was on "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" as Miss Bliss. The show was developed as a sitcom for her, and the focus was half on her and half on her students. After 13 episodes on the Disney Channel, the show was dropped. NBC picked it up, and retooled it to be focused primarily on the students. Hayley Mills was out, principal Belding and three of the five kids stayed on, the school was changed from JFK Junior High in Indiana to Bayside in California. The new name was "Saved By The Bell", and the rest was history.

But, the point to my rambling of useless facts, is that "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" (which is called "Saved By The Bell: The Junior High Years" in syndication) is not on DVD, and so neither is Hayley Mills as Miss Bliss.

I remember when they'd rerun those episodes, high-school Zack would actually make an introduction before the episode. But I don't know how they explained Bayside changing from a midwestern middle school to a southern California high school. Or the fact that Mr. Belding, 3 students, and the layout of the school went to California as well, lol.

I hope they release the Miss Bliss episodes with the College Years! I'm assuming they'll do that once they release the remainder of SBTB episodes. And the Tori episodes too!

2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange.

Well, big week for me DVD wise.

At the shops, I was naughty and bought:
- Dr Who: The Three Doctors (with bonus car!)
- Triple J: Hottest 100 (2003) - music videos that go with songs as voted by listeners in the nation's biggest music poll each year. 34 videos in total.

And I kept Australia Post busy with the arrival of:
- Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III
- Kill Bill (Vol 1)
- Monster Legacy Gift Set (with Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman Legacy sets). This is a very sexy set. To anyone who was in any doubt, to buy it is to love it.

That's a lot of movies for the weekend. If I'm home to enjoy them that is...

And here I am wondering if I am spending too much on DVDs!

I should point out, you don't get a real car with the Doctor Who set!

Got my hands on the Terminator 2: Judgement Day EXTREME EDITION. The metal cover is cool, but poorly manufactured - tore the plastic right off the keepcase inside.

I just ordered Finding Nemo because I got it really cheap. I think I wouldn't have ordered it with full price. I hope it will be here soon.

Picked up Peter Pan (Universal) and The Last Samurai today. And then I never posted about it but I picked up the Master and Commander Collector's Edition a couple weeks ago.

Well, Star Trek Voyager - Season One just arrived, and very spiffy box it is. Came today in fact - and I've already watched 3 episodes, including the feature-length pilot

I also picked up Sister Streetfighter from a discount shop. Only $10 AU (that'd be only $7.30 US). The others are around at that price, now I just have to find them

(Of course, the next few weeks should see some great DVDs though. I have a consignment of Doctor Who arriving and of, course, the Treasures will ship soon. Excitement city! Plus, we've decided to take a short trip up north at the end of June, where it is potentially warmer. Much watch those pennies!).

I was wondering if anyone has picked up "The Great Locomotive Chase" yet. It's the one Disney May 4th release that Luke DIDN'T review. I have the original Anchor Bay letterbox DVD and I was curious if Disney remastered it in 16x9 for the new DVD. (To be completely honest, I hope they didn't because I'm so tired of double-dipping.)

Luke didn't review three May 4 titles, actually. He didn't get them.

Pretty sure it's NOT anamorphic, as it wasn't even listed as such in the press release for May titles. The Big Green WAS listed as anamorphic in the press release, but as far as I know, it has been letterboxed (non-anamorphic) everywhere on DVD...and the package doesn't mention it.

Kind of disappointing, but it still beats fullscreen, and for Great Locomotive Chase, the thought of losing 40% of the picture is scary. Maybe I can do a review of it at some point soon.

I just got the Mask of Zorro.

I saw it and remember how good it was.

I got it at Costco for only $9.99.

This was a savings for me!!!

This is presented in 1.66:1 widescreen (which may be it's proper ratio, 1.66:1 was popular in European cinema for a long time). No supplements.

Muppet Movie Boxset (UK)
All four of the Columbia Muppet Movies - The Muppet Movie, The Muppets Take Manhatten, The Great Muppet Caper and Muppet's From Space. All for the price of a single disc!

100 Cartoon Classics
100 of America's all time favourite 'toons collected on 12 discs. These will all be public domain, so the quality is unlikely to be high.

The Film Critics Top 100 Films of All Time
A two disc set of 100 movie trailers for the 100 greatest films of all time. Hey, if the studios won't include trailers on their DVDs anymore, we have to take the fight to the streets!

Today I went to shopping and bought Disney Treasures: Silly Symphonies.
I have watched the first cartoon already and it seems to be a great DVD to own.

Got Samurai Jack: Season One today at Suncoast for $19.99. Who wouda thunk that Suncoast would have the lowest price on it?
