I love the watercolor look for the backgrounds. It reminds me a lot of the earlier Disney features like Snow White and Pinocchio.

And I'm so happy that they changed the prince's name again. I like the name Levine a lot better than Naveen, personally. :p

I personally don't like the design of the Gator, he's too chubby and unreleastic, most of the Disney animal characters aern't exagerrated to this extent, although the background and the setting is cool I hope they make the film a little scary like the New Orleans in the horror movie "The Skeleton Key" which is also a lot about vodoo.

Do you think that Naveen was a mistake and his real name was Levine?.
The crocodile is cute :D thought he doesn't looks ike the one from Peter Pan at all,the film reminds me a lof of Cinderella,Aladdin,Alice In Wonderland,Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas.
And thanks for explaining,Disney Duster :D I was wondering about that.

Have you seen any Disney films? I think it's safe to say that most are exagerrated. Very few actually look natural.

Do any of these designs not look exagerrated a bit? A lot of design choices deal a lot more with the style of the film in general. The design of the alligator in this film fits a lot better stlylistically than a plain alligator like what you would find in the wild.

He looks kind of similar to Brutus and Nero from The Rescuers, and considering that he plays a musical instrument (apparently), he would need to be less realistic. Can you imagine a realistic gator playing a trumpet?

You know what would be cool? If the gators from Fantasia made a cameo appearance

If not, atleast the one from Pan.

Someone got things too early?:
The Disney Princesses are Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas and Tiana. Each of these Princesses has royal title either by marriage or birth. Disney Store has Princess costumes, toys, DVDs and clothing to turn your little girl into a Princess.
I was going to say something about this but they also worte:
Prince Charming stars in Sleeping Beauty. Disney Store sells a range of Princess costumes and accessories, as well as Prince Charming costumes
Oh? that's funny, because Prince Charming is from CINDERELLLA!!!!! not Sleeping Beauty!,Phillip is from Sleeping Beauty.
And
Each of these Princesses has royal title either by marriage or birth
how really? Mulan isn't even a real princess!.

^And neither is Pocahontas.

If anything, she was the daughter of the leader of a tribe... but married away, she probably lost any title she had.

Pocahontas is a daughter of a chief, and it's pretty much a king only Native Americans have a different name for it.

I just realised there's a song called ''Stand by me'' from the timon and pumbaa series, it has these frogs singing part of it, simply to die for, animation wise this would fit great into this movie:

check it out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jm1_U3mZY8

(Timon)
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we see
No I won't be afraid
No I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So Pumbaa, Pumbaa stand by me
Oh, now, now, stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry,
(Pumbaa) You won't cry?
(Timon)
Nooo, I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So Pumbaa, Pumbaa stand by me
Oh, stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

(Frogs)
Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me
Oh, now, now, stand by me
Oh, stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

Why is it that the animation quality looks much better than what you usually get on TV?

This perticular short was intended to coincide with TLK 2 when it was still planned to be a big-budget feature instead of a dtdvd sequel

Still, if you look at disney's 90 tv-animation it can easily outdo it's current tv-cannon, kim-possible for instance is not something I once wished upon a star.....

The crocodile rocks! Thank God there is this cool crocodile in the movie, because I couldn't stand a movie with only 2 frogs as the main characters! I really don't know if I'm happy for this movie, now that I think about it. It's like Brother Bear. In the beginning you think you're going to watch a film about a human, but no, it's actually a film about a bear. And now it's the same: you think you'll have a beautiful girl as the main character but Disney decides to make a fool of everyone who likes Tiana's design and turns her into a *^#@ing frog for about, I guess, a percentage of 80% of the whole movie. How about "The Frog and the Frog"? Doesn't it sound much more accurate?
Ok I can picture it now. After the movie is out and everyone realises that Tiana is Tiana only for the first 20 minutes of the film (well that's just a thought not a statement), fellow members will create threads like "Who would like to see a film with Tiana as a human?" or "Is Tiana a Disney Princess or a Disney Frog?".

I'm sorry, but anyone went into Brother Bear expecting to see a movie that was not about a bear is, well, confused to say the least... Maybe they should have stuck with the more straight-forward working title Bears...

Besides, I think you're slightly jumping the gun in terms of the content and quality of this movie, which is not in theatres for a whiiiile...

"Stand By Me" is a Ben E. King song from 1961 that has been covered many times over, and was also used as the title of a wonderful 1986 Rob Reiner film. The T&P clip was originally used as a short that appeared before Tom & Huck in theatres.

Don Hahn is a unique talent and has defined Disney animation as we know it. It is one think to criticize someone's decision (i personally disagree with any alterations in animated movies for whatever reason ) and another thing to call them names and insult them; especially to someone who has offered so much in the field. Take it back :x

In other news, do we know whether the prince is going to be Caucasian or African American? I've heard that the prince is supposed to be European so I'm guessing white? It would be more interesting to have an African-American prince for a change though...
