Oh, come on, "The Casey and Susie Treasure" would be something, don't you think?Big Disney Fan wrote:As far as I'm concerned, the Rarities set is complete; Casey and Susie are not enough to justify a complete second Rarities set.
If you look earlier in this thread (I THINK it is in this thread, anyway), you'll see that we went over before how there are PLENTY of other classic shorts to fill up a second rarities tin.Big Disney Fan wrote:I hope that statement is true. It's got to be if it came from BVHE. All I'm really after is the remaining Donald sets. The fact that they can be found "somewhere" is better than nothing, of course, but having all of the classic shorts in the WDT line is what we seem to have within reach here.Flanger-Hanger wrote:Casey and Susie have already been made available as bonus features on DVD but I agree there still are more rarities that need to be seen (especially Magic Highway U.S.A., I really want to see that one).
An official press release to announce it's cancelling would be stranger then stopping/resuming the series..
I downloaded Magic Highway from Mousebits.com and the announcer at the beginning says, "This week from the Wonderful World of Tomorrow..." and later it talks about how the highway of the future should look. I think it should've been included on the Tomorrowland DVD.Flanger-Hanger wrote:Casey and Susie have already been made available as bonus features on DVD but I agree there still are more rarities that need to be seen (especially Magic Highway U.S.A., I really want to see that one).
Wait, I'm sorry. You all thought that I was posting to explain why they would discontinue or that I thought they might. That's not what I was trying to say. I was trying to say that if they did decide to discontinue them I don't think they would bother filling in the gap with the remaining donald duck shorts. I was trying to say that they change lines all the time without completing them, not that there was a specific reason to stop the treasures series. Just that I wouldn't be surprised if they did, and if they didn't complete the donald shorts.ohmahaaha wrote:To backup 2099net's point, humphreybear, your points are somewhat valid, but the Treasures were only around for 5 years! That's not even half a generation! I just don't understand the mentality of their basing this decision on what THEY want to sell us ... how about what WE want to buy??humphreybear wrote:somebody in marketing decided that they were tired of rectangular metal boxes and would rather have round ones.
That really depends on what you mean by "educational shorts".UncleEd wrote:Why can’t the educational shorts be incorporated into the remaining rarities? Surely they could all fit onto one DVD.
Maybe it could be included on either of the Donald sets left to come.UncleEd wrote:Why can’t the educational shorts be incorporated into the remaining rarities? Surely they could all fit onto one DVD. As for Ludwig von Drake, His TV shows deserve their own set, hoping they could all fit. By the way, has the first episode of Wonderful World of Color that introduced him ever appeared on DVD? I swear I’ve watched it on a DVD a few years ago but I can’t find it listed on any I own.

Well, all I care about is getting Scrooge McDuck and Money, the I'm No Fool/Human Animal stuff, Winnie the Pooh Discovers the Seasons (that might be one of the Canada ones), the What Should I Do series, and Harold and His Amazing Green Plants. However, some of the others on that list sound very interesting, and I'm always up for a good menstration cartoon.Mr. Toad wrote:The I'm No Fools, You and Your.... are very releasable. Some like explaining how to use a punch card to operate a computer - not so much. And of course don't forget in your letters to Dick Cook to demand the Story of Menstration on DVD.Lars Vermundsberget wrote: That really depends on what you mean by "educational shorts".
Donald in Mathmagicland and Scrooge McDuck and Money are not considered educational shorts as they were released first theatrically.
There are four other classifications of non theatrical shorts - shorts released for the armed forces which we saw some of in a montage on the Armed Forces of which there are 75, shorts produced for the National Film Board of Canada which have plenty of entertainment value - of which there were five(I believe some are on the On the Front Lines DVD and four produces for the theme parks.
