I haven't seen Paperman, DisneyJedi, but I consider that a positive connection. I don't like Disney animation to be forced into being Disney-like. It's like an good actor who is typecast. Nobody wants that.

The Paperman short is on Youtube right now . It's in crappy quality, but for those who skipped out on WiR, there it is. I don't know how much longer it will be up before Disney notices and takes it down though. I was able to watch it (though I fell kind of guilty watching a pirated version) and found it tp be pretty good. The animation was well done and the story moved along at a decent pace.

Wow, how surprisingly generous of them, throwing it up on youtube, and for free. And in 1080p. Doesn't get better than that really unless they were to upload the 3D version. Why haven't they done this with more of their shorts?

It gets much better on Blu-ray. ;)

I mean in terms of online distribution. This is how its done. Direct to the public, for free, in 1080p. I'm sure it'll be higher bit rate and all on blu ray, and its good if your the type that just need something tangible to hold in your hand, but this makes it convenient to watch any time you want, and the difference in quality will be negligible for most people. And if you download it like many of us are doing they cant take it away from you (compared to streaming on some proprietary site).

Can someone tell me how the fuck you download it off youtube?

I personally have a firefox plug in, a greesmonkey script that puts a download button for multiple formats and resolutions next to every video on youtube. But there are a plethora of sites like http://keephd.com/ you can use as well where you just paste the url in and grab the download from there.

What a charming short.... I saved it on my hard drive too. The look of it was GREAT... I wonder what it would have looked like in "twos" instead of "ones".

The ending was a bit predictable... but still...adorable short!

Marvelous! I hope it wins the academy award for animated short. :)

Things have come a long way for Paperman in the last six months. This is the "closest" I've ever been to a Disney production, and its been really really cool to see the hype build and to see it finally released... and now to have the internet blowing up with it is super cool. I can't imagine how cool it is to actually be a part of a production and watch it go out into the world.

I just watched it. Talk about using the 'white pages' to look someone up :P

I tried looking the video on Youtube but it's not there anymore. Apparently they took it down for some reason. Here, however it still plays fine. I watched it again and the quality is (obviously) better than the pirated version I watched a while back. I also want it to win the Oscar, but the award will most likely go to one of the foreign shorts.

They didn't it take down. The video is simply unlisted. You can only find it if you have the direct link.

Some people use websites that you can find on google where you can copy and paste your link and they'll give you the direct video in whatever format you want or they'll give you the audio. :p
