Jonas Brothers: The Concert Experience
I got some exercise dancing to it! :)

And I don't think I typed it here, but a few weeks ago, my friend came over and we watched Tulsa, Tokyo, & the Middle of Nowhere, which was Hanson's first VHS video. Fun as always! I just felt like I needed to write that here, to give Hanson props as well as JB! :)

Family Sins- one of those Lifetime movies that you know you shouldn't enjoy, but you just do. It's based on a true life, and fairly creepy story about a New Jersey soccer mom who collected children as if they were Happy Meal toys, abused them, and taught them to steal in order to be fed. It starred Kirstie Alley as the mother, and, I am fairly sure, the woman who voiced Pepper Ann in the Pepper Ann series as a woman who is continually abused and raped by the male members of the family, and who lives in the basement and kind of works as a slave for the family. Pretty creepy stuff.

I know that I'm not UmbrellaFish, but instant answers are nice. I think that it's Julie Andrews!
Oh, sorry I missed this- Yep, that was Julie Andrews in the 1995 B'way production of Victor/Victoria, and the avatar was Julie dressed up as Antoinette in 1968's Star!. :)

P.S., I Love You - I thought this was really good! Lisa Kudrow was hilarious, and Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Kathy Bates, and James Marsters delivered great performances. Highly reccomended. :)

Last night, I finally watched The Secret of the Magic Gourd. It was really cute and entertaining. Not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was nice. Some of the lines Corbin said were really funny. I really wish there was a behind-the-scenes featurette on him recording his lines. I'd love to see the footage! <3

Public Enemies (2009): A wonderfully stylish gangster movie that was great summer action fun. The digital photography certainly allows you to appreciate the contrast in colour and levels in blacks which make this film so wonderful to just stare at. The story and characters may not be as emotionally compelling as the could be, but the entertainment from the film overshadowed that flaw, which seemed to be the only one. With a good sense of humor and lots of period detail, it's a fun way to spend a summer day for sure.

Another horror movie party...

Scream - I LOVED it! Definitely my favorite horror movie. I can't wait to watch the sequels!

Black Christmas (Remake) - I hated it. It was a terrible, disgusting movie. Ugh.

Friday the 13th (Remake) - I actually really liked it. Second favorite.

That's Life!- Pretty good film, actually. I mean it's not outstanding, it's easy to understand why it's not highlighted on Lemmon, or Andrews, or Edwards's careers. But it was good, and it was neat to see Julie's and Blake's children's acting skills. I was a tad bit disappointed because at the very end they kinda taunted us with a possible song from Julie, but it just skips over that. On the other hand, it's certainly frightening to hear Julie say "Am I ever going to sing again?" ten years before her throat surgery, which damaged her voice, maybe forever. It'll be interesting to contrast the two paths that Julie's characters took in this film and Duet for One, in which, I'm told, her character tries to commit suicide because she can no longer play the violin.

Over the last week, I've watched...

That Thing You Do! - Totally recommend it to anyone who loves a good comedy and great music! Liv Tyler performs really well, and Tom Hanks' writing is amazing! Love it!

Jonas Brothers: The (3D) Concert Experience - I like the band, even if a lot of people don't. I think they're great guys and they put on a fantastic show.

Chicago - A great musical, very artsy. Last year at theatre camp, we would watch Cell Block Tango all of the time. It was awesome!

Madagascar - Probably one of my favorite Dreamworks Animated flicks. Very funny and cute.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - If you know me, then this needs no explanation. Haha.

RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway - Don't know if many people would consider this a movie, but since it had a short theatrical run, I consider it a movie. I love RENT, a lot, so that's about it. Haha.

Yay, That Thing You Do!!!! Such a great movie! I haven't seen it in a while, but I watch the music video to the title song all the time on YouTube- I think it's one of my favorite songs!

And, of course, yay JB! <3

El Cid Good old-fashioned epic movie with Charlston Heston and Sophia Loren. I put it on when it was playing already half an hour. Still don't know why El Cid killed the father of the woman he later married.

"Can a man live without HONOR?"

I'm sad to hear you missed the best line in the movie.

7 Things to Do Before I'm 30 - Another Lifetime flick. This one starred Amber Benson, who definitely helped the film from being poor to being kind of decent. I guess I reccomend it. It's cute, but definitely sappy and cheesy at the same time. :P
