i really like the slipcovers. I'd be sad if they released a DVD without one. Most of my DVDs have the slipcovers so one without one would look out of place.

They don't really take up more space....

I love slipcovers. They are probably going to become more and more common since people seem to be attracted to them. I find it makes the DVD case more complete.

I think that the slipcovers make the DVDs look alot nicer. And I dont think they are being overused. In fact, I wish they used them on more of the DVDs (like Brother Bear and Home on the Range! I mean come on Disney!).

Slipcovers are nice and all, but seem sooo unnecessary. Especially the non-book ones.

One thing I'd like to complain about is that the non-book slipcovers are totally useless and would be kept safer if it were shrinkwrapped with the DVD, instead of put over the shrinkwrapped DVD.

i dont see slip covers as useless, or as used to much, if it were me i would prefer all titles to have a slip, only because we are paying up to 15-20 bucks per title, we should be given some form of "nice lookin extra"...all those cardboard cases look better together than plain old dvd keepcases.

Slip covers are okay with me, but I keep them put away. Cardboard is NOT durable, and I prefer to keep them in nice condition.

The slips my family has, that I recall, are Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, various Pixar films... I think that's all. My daughters watch the Pixar movies more than these others, and the slips would would get worn from all of the handling if everything was kept together.

Really, slip covers are no big deal to me. Now, the Walt Disney Treasures, yes, I like those! And, yes, those are stored away, too, including all of the inserts!

I love all my Slip Covers , they look really cool on the shefl togethere. I really dont think they are overused. I think that they are used in modaertion and usally they are for the Pixars, PE and SE. I think its all good

. So my vote was a definite no.

I think they're overused-does Mulan II really need one??? I can see the Platinums, and SEs, but not something like the sequels.

And I hate it when stores put the stickers on the slipcovers!

If you buy all these DVDs, which some on this board people will do, you've basicly turned your DVD shelf into a slip-swamp. Just with a few slip-covered DVDs on my shelf such as the Region 2 Platinums, the Pixar films and my Region 1 Mary Poppins, I'm losing space. Okay, I know many people on these boards lobster-love slipcovers, but I think that they should have just been reserved to the Platinum Editions and possibly the Pixar films. With some normal special editions beating out the most special releases, I think that a special treat in the form of a book slip-cover would make a decent stand out. Again, I'm okay with seeing slips on some of my Disney DVDs, but I think I can survive if there isn't one. My Region 1 Alice in Wonderland didn't come with a slipcover, but I'm cool.

Thanks for the point-out, I feel so special now lol. Anyways, I don't know about this subject honestly. Are they being used too much? Well there's two sides to the arguement. First side (and this is especially true for the Book ones), they increase the thickness of the DVD and make less DVDs fit on the shelf. The other side, they look beautiful. One could always do what I've done. Remove the slipcovers and display them on the top of your DVD shelf. That way you don't get the increased thickness on the DVD, all of your DVDs look almost the same (I'm big on consistency!! The fact that I'm missing two 2-disc Star Trek DVDs (I have the 1 disc ones) is driving me up the wall everytime I look at them), and you get the beautiful look of the slipcases. I started doing this more because my slipcase for A Bug's Life does not fit at all and I would have to destroy it to get off everytime I wanted to watch the movie.

First: I did search for this topic and did not see any comments about amount of slipcovers that can be ordered.

What is the most slipcovers you have received from Disney?

It sounds like they are flexable, I received three so far, very helpful and friendly. Sounds like the limit is five, was wondering if anyone has gotten more then that, any time a movie is ordered online with a slipcover there seems to be something wrong with it.

When I first called about a slipcover replacement, the lady told me I'd get 3 free and after the 3rd, I'd have to pay 99cents for shipping.

Well, I've gotten 4 free!

So, I guess it depends on the type of person you get. (Maybe)

well, there actually already is a topic on Slipcovers but it is probably now on the 2nd or 3rd page,

but owell, i;ve ordered about 7 already and i was never told to pay or that i would have to pay any time soon, but i quess it does depend who you talk to.

I've ordered 5 now, and never been told I had to pay. I don't think it really matters, just so long as you aren't calling them day in, day out asking for them

I ordered three a couple weeks ago and need two more at this time, which may be all I require for some time, I would gladly pay for the slipcovers, it still sounds like it depends who you speak with, and done case by case.

When you ordered the slipcovers, did you order them weeks or months apart?

Anyways, I ordered my slipcover weeks apart and didn't have a problem nor did anyone else tell me I have to pay.

All they did was verify my address.

So it's clear now then.

Slipcovers are free by ordering from the Disney Customer Service!

I would never have a problem paying for them if it meant I never had to worry about there being a limit (which I have now found out appears to be flexible) once I order the two I need, it should be quite some time until I would need any others, as most the others are still avalible for sale.

Other then stores that place security stitckers on the slipcovers.
(At least Target does not do that.)

Free is always good.
