Could you please tell me how you managed to register your discs? Because I just tried and they don't seem to accept adresses outside of the US., as I had to enter a US postal code.

Well, the review for "True-Life Adventures, Volume 2 - Lands of Exploration" clearly states: "At the start of each disc, you'll find an older Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo accompianed by a new musical score."

So, which WDHE logo is used on the True-Life Adventures DVDs? And another question: what does the Buena Vista logo look like at the beginning of "The Living Desert" (1953)?

I must pop in and say Perri looks absolutely gorgeous, the restoration is beautiful. It's was a childhood favorite of mine and I'm so happy to have it on DVD now.

I'll say the same for Water Birds, a very important title for me to own and an important piece of my family's history; my great uncle did some of the photography for it.

I don't know if Disney will replace Pluto or not. THey said a technician has to look at it and that takes 4-8 weeks and another 4-8 weeks before a replacement is sent out, IF they opt to replace it. I only went with this option because all the tins in my area are smashed. Mine is the least smashed so if I had exchanged it my tin would have been worse.


What's the problem with the big Superman set? I haven't heard about that but was planning to buy it soon. Should I not now?


If Disney replaces the Legacy discs I think I"ll have to get a duplicate set to send in because I don't want to chance losing the one I have.

I must admit that I registered myself as a user of the Disney site quite some years ago. Probably, the rules were less strict then.
Nevertheless, the "Report a Problem" page is not preceded by a login, so you should be able to report your problem.

I got the widescreen version of Vol.4 (via Costco), but no "born on" date on mine. I'm definitely going to stay on top of WDHE to get the replacement for Vol.1 Disc 1.

Here's something else I noticed, too. The discs on volumes 1-3 are all printed with the translucent ink that has become a favorite of bootleg-thwarters everywhere, but Volume 4 is a normal opaque ink. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that I did get one of the widescreen versions?

Can anyone who has all four sets verify the printing on their discs?

MickeyMouse you bought yours at Costco? Are they cheaper there? You think if I buy the rest from there and the widescreen one it would come out ok?

I have something interesting to add to this matter, which in a way has already been mentioned-ish. After hearing that someone had gotten a correct widescreen version from PlayUSA, I thought to myself "Hmmm, these titles aren't going to be that fly off the shelves to UK homes, so if Play already have some imported, the ones they have now will probably be from the same batch as the person's whose was correct!" So I took a chance and ordered myself another copy. 2 days later, it plopped on my letterbox, I tore it open and the yes it is widescreen! Yay!

But interestingly enough as someone has mentioned this correct version does not have a date on it, and the disc art is opaque, whereas the pan and scan copy is reflective.

Not sure really what that means, but I thought it was interesting.

Well, the copy I bought from PlayUSA was pre-ordered, and I received it less than a week after the release date. Not sure what that does to your theories, but I'm assuming my correct copy came from a fairly early pressing.

Yes, well it was you who I was referring to in my post, perhaps I should thank you for giving me the incentive to get a 2nd copy for myself, it paid off!

Yes, I think these are earlier pressings, PlayUSA obviously would have had a bulk of these titles shipped together and obviously since I ordered mine a month later, they haven't been that popular, so they copies they have in stock are still from that same shipment.

Does your copy of volume 4 also have opaque disc art? Did you get any of the other volumes from PlayUSA? Do those discs have opaque disc art too?

Just had a look at my set 4. Depends what you mean by opague disc art. Don't see any problems with the art. It's clearly printed, not transparent in any way, or cloudy. What exactly are you meaning?

Well opaque basically means you can't see through it, just like a normal DVD art would be. But For the past couple of years most US Disney DVDs have been "reflective", as though the just the foreground image has been printed onto the disc, but the shiny silveryness still comes through. You can actually see right through these newer 'reflective' discs. I suspect probably as a security method to prevent people scanning the DVDs as, the light in the scanner would obviously.

Here is the comparison of the 2 discs. My camera phone is crap, but it does the job. On the left the discs from the opaque (widescreen) sets, right discs from the the shiny (pan and scan) set.

Ah, I understand what you mean. The only reflective discs I have had have been for some of the more recent animated sequels, Bambi II, Fox and the Hound II and Brother Bear II. All of my Treasures and Legacy Collections have been opague discs. And of course, recent platinum editions like Cinderella and The Little Mermaid have had shiny discs with just character artwork picked out on them. I always thought they had different styles for different lines. Can't comment on all the recent platinums because my Bambi and Lady and the Tramp were region 2 discs, and they had full disc art on them. Having said that, I've also got R2 Cinderella and Little Mermaid discs as well as the R1's and they have similar art to the R1 counterparts.

They were $19.89 each there...along with the Treasures. I can't guarantee what version you'll get if you buy yours there, but I can guarantee you'll save $$ over any other venue.

The is soo cheap for a treasure. Well it is Costco and everything is way cheaper there. I should buy my dvd's there for now on. Ichabod do you think if I purchase the true life adventures form Playusa, that I'll get the good copies?

Well I can't guarantee it for certain, but since it has been clarified as a source which has/had early discs with the correct ratios I'd say it's probably the best chance you've got.
