The Trivia track should be great. I love those. They work better for me than an audio-commentary. I tend to loose interest in those, but the pop-up trivia is always nice to read and I can still concentrate on the movie.

Thanks once again. The 'Sincerely Yours, Walt Disney' featurette also sounds interesting. I know Disney met Smith, that they got on well together and that she was delighted with the film, but not much more.

Incidentally, some information about Walt's correspondance with T. H. White (over 'The Sword in the Stone') can be found, along with one of the actual letters, somewhere on Michael Barrier's site.

Some of the features seem like they're going to be pretty good so far.

I'm particularly phsyced about the Cruella De Vil: Drawn To Be Bad featurette, as the description indicates that Marc Davis will be the main focus of it. This is excites me terribly, as Davis is my favorite animator of all time, and I'm excited that they are releasing interviews they got of him before his unfortunate passing.

i knew it would be somewhere around March 4th! i noticed a pattern of the past spring platinum releases.

I am SO excited I feel like I'm going to bust!

Because that would make too much sense, and when has Disney ever made sense?

I just saw the movie for the first time in years and I forgot how excellent it was.

I LOVED the movie as a kid and now I remember why. The animation style was simpler yet so vivid and full of life. Cruella's FAHBULOUS! The story is so simple yet filled with a lot of tension and drama. The live action remakes have NOTHING on the original movie. Absolutely nothing.

I can't wait to see it again when its released next March.

I've been checking in with the website periodically to see if it is up and running. Normally when I check, it redirects me to the Disney DVD website. However, today when I checked it redirected me to a Disney page saying "Sorry, page not found". Hopefully this means the website is being worked on and will be up and running shortly.

Harumph. What bothers me most with this 1.33:1 change is the fact that the 60s and 70s Disney features will now not be consistent. Some will be in widescreen ... others not. Yuck. With a disorganized feel to your DVD collection.

I agree why the hell would disney dooooo this!!!!! god atleast put BOTH on the dvd!!!!! Im getting so freaking sick and tired of there incosistant shit I could puke.

I really don't see the prob. with full vs Wide, personaly I don't mind which one ends up on the dvd, when I purchased Sleeping Beauty ('03 edition) and found a wide/full options I went with the full screen cause that's how I watched my movies, then recently I watched it again in Wide form and came to a reasonable conclusions, while both verisons offers a different view of the film, I became of both wide/full. Lady and Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, in my personal opinon, works in both format, Walt realizes he could use a whole background as a stage in Cinescope/Widescreen, he was always trying new stuff for his studios.

Now for 101 Dalmatians, I agree with everybody that this Platinum's bonus are well worthy to watch/experience, defintly gon'na watch the film witht he pop up facts *chuckles* course I was hoping an audio commentary and a featurette on Bill Peet (expected that for Jungle Book's Platinum)

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised at the full screen aspect ratio for 101 Dalmatians. I have learned the joys and benefits of watching a DVD in widescreen. Though I would prefer the DVD to be in widescreen, or better yet, have both options, a fullscreen release doesn't really bother me that much. To me it's not really that big of a deal.

It doesn't really bother me, but like others have said, consistency is nice. It seems odd to have "The Jungle Book" released in widescreen and not "101 Dalmatians".

Granted, I shouldn't really expect consistency from a line that's had none from the get-go, but still... a boy can dream.

I'm disappointed with the aspect ratio, but I'll survive. Though I really believe Dalmatians would work so well in widescreen and after being teased with some widescreen clips during the Jungle Book's making of mini-doc it'll be a bit sad watching it in Fullscreen.

I really hope we at least get the option of which aspect ratio we want to see. But that seems unlikely.

I'm so glad I found out about this being released next March! I was going to buy a copy of the Limited Issue OOP one on eBay ... so glad I didn't bid on it. I can wait till March!

I also think that it's a bit odd that TJB was released in widescreen, while 101D won't be, but I'm not too bothered by it, since it's not like fullscreen is wrong for it to be in. What bothered me was seeing clips of "Snow White" in widescreen- on some documentary I was watching (maybe online?), there were clips of SW&t7D in widescreen (as were the clips of other movies- the documentary was in widescreen).

Wow, I had no idea it wasn't being released in widescreen! I suppose it isn't the end of the world but I personally prefer the widescreen aspect ratio. It looks much better.

101 Dalmatians is one of my favorite films. Its up there with Lady and the Tramp as a movie that I've wanted on DVD for a long time. I just wish Fall 2008 Platinum film was Pinocchio instead of SB.
