writer/director Wes Craven, actors Amanda Wyss, Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Ronee Blakley, cinematographer Jacques Haitkin, producer Robert Shaye, co-producer Sara Risher, other people I can only seem to remember by name (some may be wrong): Jim Doyle, John Burrows, David De Valle, Rick Shaine.

The one above for Nightmare on Elm Street is one hell of a commentary! Especially Sara Risher's stories. Just when you thought she was out of pregnancy stories- she's got 1 more! Robert Englund's stuff is great too, especially about how other directors regard Wes Craven.

and right now, I'm working on the Author/Camera Operator commentary on Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.


then, had another Masters of Horror DVD marathon of featurettes with the directors. Garsh, I love those. And watched the making-of featurette on the Legally Blonde special edition DVD.

Anyway, recently watched the following:

Doctor Who: Time-Flight
-Mouth on Legs - an enjoyable interview with Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka) as she goes through various topics about her time on "Doctor Who" and what she did afterwards. I'm so glad she's opened up to doing video interviews for the DVDs now (and can't wait for the "Beneath the Surface" set to come States-side, even if I've read not-so-nice things about "Warriors of the Deep".)

-Deleted Scenes - I don't know why, but I watched these and felt they were all included in the episodes. Maybe I'm just hallucinating.

-Jurassic Larks - an interesting take on providing studio recording footage, I especially enjoyed the explanatory text screens (which was also done, but as a subtitle option, for "The Claws of Axos"'s extensive deleted scenes/behind the scenes package).

-Outtakes - interesting, but not something I'd watch over and over.

-Peter Grimwade Interview - all-too-brief, though I'm assuming the MythMakers interview in full is more in-depth. Still, I'm guessing they included it as it focused specifically on Time-Flight and his writing.

Doctor Who: Arc of Infinity
-Anti-Matter from Amsterdam - I liked how it was hosted by Sophie Aldred (Ace) and how it was shot on location, along with the interesting interviews inside the Tardis. But it seemed to repeat a lot from the commentary.

-The Omega Factor - pretty much Omega: A History, it makes me really want to see The Three Doctors (I'm still kicking myself for not buying it at Virgin Megastore when I saw it, as I can't find it in NJ).

And on both those discs...

Coming Soon: The Time Warrior - I was really excited to watch this and can't wait for April when it comes out.

Simon Pegg in boring commentary shocker!

Yes, the commentary for Run Fat Boy Run is boring. BORING. So boring in fact, I turned it off after about 7 minutes. Note: This is a commentary with Simon Pegg and more amazingly, Simon Pegg's mother!

David Schwimmer is too dry, and despite one of the extras ("Goof") showing how much of a joker Thandie Newton is, none of this comes across in her commentary contributions. It's just dull.

I never, ever, thought I would call a commentary with Simon Pegg contributing "dull".

Nothing much recently. Been a little slow. Re-listened to the audio commentaries for Masters of Horror: Family, Cigarette Burns (both Carpenter and the writers), The Fair Haired Child, and started Dreams in the Witch-House.

I also watched a featurette for American Psycho that wasn't included on the Killer Uncut Edition, that someone was great enough to post on YouTube.

then, just more trailers, and the Secrets Galore Behind the Gore featurettes on the Friday the 13th: From Crystal Lake to Manhattan bonus disc.

A few of the features on the Mrs Doubtfire DVD.

Most of the bonus features on the 101 Dalmatians Platinum Edition DVD.

OK. here's what I have watched over the last few months:

George of the Jungle and Super Chicken pilot on the George of the Jungle set.

and all of the bonus material from Ratatouille and The Academy Awards Classic cartoon collection

All the features except the "guys" commentary track and the Rider Strong commentary.

Disney doesn't make them like this anymore. It's so in-depth- I love it!
