Didn't care for the movie, but this was a good song, and thanks to your post, I'm listening to it now. :)

I've watched a lot since my last post. Let's hope I don't forget any...

Jiminy Glick in LaLa Wood
I was laughing fairly hard throughout. At times, it gets overly silly, but that's pretty rare. The TV series still works better, and it could have used more Whoopi, but I'm glad they made this. I need to get the DVD.

The Corpse Bride
I was very impressed with this, though it didn't exactly grab ahold of me. But then, I think that like The Nightmare Before Christmas, this is a movie that will especially benefit from repeat viewings. Speaking of TNBC, even people who don't like that movie should still give this one a chance, as I think it's much more accessible... that is to say, this isn't as much of a "cult" movie. Elfman delivers more catchy music here, even if not quite up to TNBC standards. In all, a clever and enjoyable movie that's oozing with Burton charm.

Walk the Line
Amazing. One of the year's best movies. I'm a Johnny Cash and June Carter fan and learning more about their lives was really interesting. A compelling drama with award-worthy acting all around and great music. Witherspoon & Phoenix were both very impressive... I saw Johnny, June, and the Carter family in concert and I was continually struck by how well the cast had captured their personalities. I also thought Tyler Hilton did a good job as Elvis. I'll be getting the 2-Disc DVD and perhaps the soundtrack, though I suspect they'll be re-releasing it (they better, anyways, and include "Times A Wastin'").

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I'm slightly obsessed with this at the present, which is usually the case with a new HP DVD release. Greatastic!

Flightplan
Not a movie that can stand up to a critical analysis (as evidenced by Luke's review), due to a number of weaknesses (i.e. reliance on plot twists, too manipulative, etc.), but I was still very much in suspense from beginning to end. I'd take this over Panic Room.

Good Night, and Good Luck
I guess I should've expected nothing but liberal spin out of George Clooney. (Especially when he claims to have made the movie in part as a retort to Ann Coulter's Treason). A one-sided glorification of journalistic bias and demonization of Joe McCarthy. There was some good acting (aside from Clooney) and a few cool camera shots, but just as many blunders and a fuzzy narrative. Edward R. Murrow was no hero and this was no contendor for Best Picture of 2005.

Currently watching: Spy Hard!!

Leslie Neilson stars as Agent Dick Steel goes on a mission to rescue a female agent. If you guys love The Naked Gun trilogy, then you got to love this film! It's hillarious. rotfl

Rating: B+
I haven't seen this Leslie Neilson film before, so I'll comment on that later.

EDIT: I think Spy Hard was a bit simple, compared to The Naked Gun Trilogy, but it still had the heart of parodies.

Jurassic Park:

For a long time I used to think LOST WORLD was better. Now I can see why not. JP takes the time to give a nice introduction, develop the characters and offer very nice action moments.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire:

I didn't find it to be the best movie of them yet. Some people may say that PoA had no real plot, but in contrast I find that GoF has a lot of things going on and that actually doesn't move the story. And was very surprised by the dark ending.

And because of the whole dark atmosphere of the movie I'm surprised the movie has sold so well. My guess is because of the series and not the movie per se.

Well my friend had to watch Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector because he's my friends hero. So we went and watched it. It was funny, not as asinine as I thought but some parts were down right nasty. I was also surprised to see all the people that were watching it too. I guess LTCG is more popular than I though, cuz I don't think he's all that great. Now Ron White, he's the best one.

I didn't like Larry the Cable Guy: Healthy Inspector at all. It wasn't even funny hardly. Farts are funny the first time..after about the 20th one, I lost interetest. There was only about one funny like "She's so ugly she could trick-or-treat over the phone". I was really disappointed in it, but then what did I expect from a movie called "Larry the Cable Guy" I really do like his stand-up though.

BTW Zol - Did you watch Ron Whites stand up special on Comedy Central tonght? He was in Springfield, MO last yr and I saw him there, GREAT to see in person if you ever get a chance.

I took a glance at it but I didn't watch it because I was busy or something.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Probably the most underrated film of 2005.

A couple days ago I watched Pay It Forward for the second time. Not really a movie you can watch over and over.

Proof - I can't quite agree with Jake that it's the best from the last 6 years, but I did really like this and can see why he gave it a favorable review.

Be Cool - I liked Get Shorty, but I loved the sequel. The actual action/plot are secondary, though still entertaining, but it's the self-referential comedy and great all-star cast that carry this movie. The fact that the movie essentially revolves around Aerosmith didn't hurt either.

Watched Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story with Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning. Pretty good film, it will make you cry if you are an animal lover.

When Dakota, her sister and family were in Wichita, staying at our hotel, she told me that Kurt bought the horse for her after they finished the movie.

This is really a great film to watch as a family. I will put it second to "Old Yeller" as one of favorite animal movies.

Which celebrity haven't you met? :P

When I moved here six years ago, and got this job as a driver for the Hotel, I never dreamed that I would meet so many celebrities. I lived the Los Angeles metro area all my life and never met anyone (except for Paul Newman). Now 1900 miles away in Wichita, Kansas and I am in the middle of an oasis of stars from the music world, motion pictures and politics.

Our hotel has a list of 249 celebrities who are regular guests (more than twice a year) at our establishment. I just feel very lucky to have the kind of job where I am allowed to pick up these people at the airport and bring them to the Hyatt Regency Wichita.

There are a lot of people that I haven't met. It just seems that in the past three years, I have been lucky enough to meet and greet those who are in most people's "Top Ten People I want to meet" lists. Just very lucky and blessed, I guess.

I watched S.W.A.T. Kind of asinine, kind of good. It didn't have real good actors in it with the exception of Samuel L. Jackson and Michelle Rodriguez (who is that other chick in Resident Evil) but LL Cool J . You think I would love this movie cuz it has guns and tactical stuff but it didn't really impress me with it's sub-par plot. I much rather see a movie about Navy SEALS, which I do. ;)

Van Helsing- I really liked Hugh Jackman in this movie, but the way the vampires were portrayed was just...over-used and cliche, IMO. Interview with the Vampire will always be my favorite vampire movie. Period.

50 First Dates - I'd forgotten how much I loved this movie. Adam Sandler has always been my favorite actor. And I used to visit family up in Hawaii, so this movie always brings back good memories.

Titan A.E. - I have to have animation in my diet :D
