It's funny you should say that. Originally when I saw Tangled, I didn't much care for Flynn and though he was a big step down from the great Disney princes of the past.

But then I saw Kristoff in the movie and... *yawn*. "Mild and shlubby" is an accurate description, and that's precisely not the kind of character I care to see in a movie, where I actually want to be entertained.

Flynn may have been too much the GQ, but at least he had entertainment value. Kristoff ended up being basically a loser, but what's worse, a boring loser. Retroactively, Flynn looks better now by contrast.

The character in this clip, on the other hand, is fun to watch, and I love the fact that he's not about to put up with anything from Anna (unlike movie Kristoff, who lets himself be pushed around from pillar to post).

It's really a shame, because I had some hope for Kristoff being a great character before the movie came out. He wasn't my least favorite in the move, but I'd say that he was the most disappointing, based on what I hoped he'd be. This Kristoff, the Kristoff in the clip, is a lot more fun.

These two, the Kristoff and Anna in the deleted scene, could have produced a road trip that would have been enjoyable to watch.

To me, Flynn looks worse in retrospect, if that was possible. I won't say Kristoff is interesting--after all, he's not a main like most other princes--but at least he's not annoying.

Kristoff in the deleted scene seemed like a arrogrant d-bag, we are supposed to cheer for Anna x Kristoff to end up together I think, because of what Jennifer Lee desired about the " prince charming " lesson and her desire for Hans not to kiss Anna, and this would of made things harder for Anna/ Hans not becoming canon. Plus he seemed way too much like Flynn Rider and not a new, unique character.

If this was the canon Kristoff, I would of cheered so hard for Anna/ Hans and then would of cried so hard during Hans' betrayal, and maybe even, would of walked out of the cinema. Seriously.

Agree here too, real life assfaces, don't change and would of screwed up the whole entire movie, by making the nice guy Hans become the villian, and the jerk Kristoff good, it just would of been so screwed up. Funny you should say that, because I've read more than a few reactions on Tumblr of people who have walked out of Frozen once the Hans twist happens. So it seems that that reaction is already in place, among some viewers. Funnily enough, it probably would have been my reaction too (walking out in disgust at the film), if I hadn't been spoiled for the twist long in advance and thus had grimly reconciled myself to it.

Don't think this will have as much wide appeal as the children's choir cover, but for an instrumental music teacher like me, this is FANTASTIC. The Piano Guys do an arrangement of "Let It Go" and "Winter" (from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons):

Know what would be great for an eventual "Ultimate Collector's Edition 3D Blu-ray"? Besides the For the First Time in Forever trailer? A documentary on "Let It Go" taking on a life of its own, with snippets from the various covers, Idina's recording sessions (which we still haven't seen), and the song becoming a phenomenon with crowds of fans, etc.

Nah, I'm glad they cut that scene. I don't care about what tumblr thinks anyway, so their opinion is a big "whatever" for me.

Anyway, I don't understand why is Disney lately obsessed with making the main male leads/princes to be completely obnoxious at first. It follows the Anastasia/romantic comedy route too much of "two people don't get each other at first, then they're in love", with the bickering and the "misunderstanding" cliche, so annoying.

Wasn't the whole point to make sure Kristoff and Anna's relationship didn't overshadow the sisters? Making him a bigger personality would have been a mistake, in my opinion.

I didn't see him as such a pushover. He didn't ever suggest Anna's foolishness for being anything but foolishness and let her know that (getting engaged to someone she just met, the epic climbing of the mountain). He had a mutual interest in ending the winter, to save his ice business. I really enjoyed their rapport and I'm happy he wasn't a smart alec, because that's my biggest problem with Princess/Frog and Tangled. I love that there are earnest and sweet characters in Frozen and everyone's not just competing to be the most sarcastic/edgy person on-screen all the time.

Man, everyone has fallen in love with "Let It Go".

Disney defiantly has a winner on their hands if its getting so many covers by people.

Man, why do people care about Let It Go so much? I can't be the only one who thinks it's trying too hard.

Oh I agree. I also think it's trying too hard to be a powerful ballad. To me, there is more power in the reprises of When Will My Life Begin, Part of Your World and Belle than Let it Go and any of the endless covers.

I agree. I was actually thinking earlier, "I thought Kristoff did mock Anna when they first met...." Just without being obnoxious.

And, tbh, if people walked out of a movie they paid $5+ to see because of that twist, I apologize but I find that completely ridiculous. I don't think I have ever walked out of a movie, so maybe that's why I find an extreme reaction like that to something not that big of a deal very bizarre.

Also not surprised to see the reactions to "Let It Go." It reminds me of how everybody hates The Lion King here. The only emotional Broadway-esque songs I prefer are "Part of That World" and maybe "Reflection"?

^Agreed that walking out is a completely bizarre concept to me. Seems absolutely ludicrous. And I don't really get the reason here - did those people want Anna and Hans to be together? Is that the issue?

I think "Let It Go" resonates with so many people because it isn't another "I want" song, which are often the highlight musical performances for princesses in Disney movies- it's an "I can" song.

Plot-wise, would you say "Let It Go" parallels "No Good Deed" better than it does "Defying Gravity," to which it's often compared?
