New Super Bowl-themed

Well, the new poster was plain and generic. The teaser was superior, but still not as inventive and clever as it could`ve been. However, Stitch looked good enough in that teaser and the ending with the logo was my favorite part of it.

You know, I didn't think they were hiding this movie before, but now I'm leaning that way for sure. They had the perfect opportunity here to give us a proper look and they just...didn't? I'm not saying what they did wasn't amusing on its own, but it should have been coupled with a proper reveal, even if it didn't air. Maybe just show a few seconds of it and tell people to check out the full trailer/teaser online or something.

Not to be pessimistic, but you’d think we get a full trailer by now.

Agreed! We should`ve gotten a full, actual trailer now!

The Little Mermaid had its full trailer in March. I expect the same would be for Lilo & Stitch

True, but we had also seen finished footage for "Mermaid" from the teaser trailer the previous September, and I don't think we have seen ANY from this film yet, and I think that's a valid concern.

I kinda like that, to be honest. It's a more effective way to tease the audience - instead of showing us actual footage from the movie, they just showed us the CGI Stitch. Like they did with Cinderella, where the teaser only showed us the glass slipper, without footage from the movie.

They know that they don't need to post much about the movie because Stitch is more popular and they only need to show him to attract people.
I think that we will have one trailer with the release of Snow White and that's all.

Well, there's not as much to show off with a movie like this. Something like SW, you can highlight a new song or outfit, while here you can only show off a (new) comic bit of some kind. And since most of the jokes are probably lifted from thr original anyway, it's not something you can showcase as new in a way that will have impact.
This one will probably do fine on the strength of the brand without much push anyway.

I'm a teacher and literally 50% of the kids have some kind of stitch merch
They were born over a decade after the release of the last stitch movie but the franchise is still crazy popular
So yes marketing just Stitch is a good idea BUT also shows that they're not confident about the human characters (whitewashing controversy)

I think that they don't care about the whitewashing controversy anymore. They don't post anything about the movie because as you said it's a very popular franchise. Maybe they want to wait till the release of Snow White in order to not make people forget that before L&S there is another live action.

You're right about Disney wanting to distance Snow White from Lilo And Stitch since SW will likely be bad received (not that it matters because Aladdin got bad reviews and still did a billion, or recently Mufasa with bad reviews and 700M WW)
And yes I also agree that they don't care about the controversy anymore, the USA has dropped all the diversity policies (sadly, horrible thing) and seems like appealing to the left is not popular anymore (sad thing)
But still there will be controversy in twitter and tiktok, it will slightly affect the movie

How is it possible that a fanmade CG render of stitch looks so accurate and extremely well translated than the fake a$$ plush thing Disney created....

Fans use to dedicate more time and effort because they love what they are doing. They love the characters and try to make it justice.
Disney employees are working for money so they don't actually care too much if the final design is not as good as the one made by fans.
Luckily sometimes Disney use to hire these fans like they did with the one that made the wonderful edit of Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian.

Also it's easier to make a single shot look good compared to doing a WHOLE MOVIE

Vast majority won't care about that kind of nontroversy. Nani looks more or less like Nani much like Zegler looks more or less like SW even if that character should be paler. Nobody cares unless they look completely, flat-out nothing like the character being played.

I guess it's because the original film had such a specific art style that I was sort of taken aback by Nani's and Lilo's actors. Neither of them really feel like the original characters, but they'll probably be fine. The guy playing Kawena turned out to be cuter than the pictures, and I'm glad it looks like the film.is being very faithful. It's better to err on the side of caution by being too faithful like TLK sometimes than go the direction of changing everything, pissing off everyone, and having the film bomb as a result.
