Maybe so, but my main concern is that we will soon see these shows in the Disney parks somehow.

I was hoping Disney would discontinue the Simpsons. I would imagine it would be more profitable for them to just upload the old episodes to Hulu.

Ugh, I would hate that. Unlike Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Muppets, and even Marvel, they have no place in the Parks.

I don't you have to worry about that EVER happening. You really think Disney would something that moronic?
I'm more worried about Fox being dissolved by Disney completely after the merger if the WSJ article is correct. Anyone read it? But then again, why would Disney do that?

I doubt that Fox will cease to exist in the nearest future. In December it was reported that Rupert Murdoch would lease the studio lot to Disney for seven years.

Exactly.

Maybe. Disney has been doing some really bizarre things lately that has the potential to dilute the Disney name.

Aren't most of these licensed to Universal Parks, anyway? If Disney didn't fight for the Marvel rights back, I doubt they would do it for the Simpsons and Family Guy and stuff, which really don't have a place in the parks whatsoever.

I'm not entire familiar with the Marvel situation, but doesn't Disney already have the rights to use Marvel in theme parks back, or at least, it's about to revert back to them. After all, they have multiple Marvel lands planned for Disney Parks expansions. Also I think I remember that although Universal could keep their Marvel rides, they weren't allowed to make new ones so I think Disney always had some sort of control.

Not in Florida, they don't.

Disney can do whatever they want with Marvel west of the Mississippi, but on the east coast, whatever Universal has, Disney is barred from, which would bar all things Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four. They're able to do Guardians stuff for WDW because Universal has never used the characters before, and briefly also had Doctor Strange show up in one of the parks, but that may not have lasted long due to last-minute fact checking. Not too sure about that one. They can sell merch, but that's about it.
Meanwhile, The Simpsons is represented on both of Universal's coasts, so I don't see them showing up on Disney property anytime soon.
I feel like Disney could buy out either contract if they wanted to, but I don't think there's a price on the table for Universal. If anything, I think they like having the upper leg on Disney in this instance. Although while I do love the Spider-Man and Hulk rides at Islands of Adventure, I wouldn't mind seeing WDW get to do stuff with the characters, because the area reeks of 90's cheese in the worst way, and there doesn't seem to be any hope for an update.

First Disney/Fox TV project come the merger, and it's from Justin Roiland:

Hopefully this will give us some sign of relief that Disney won't abandon adult-orientated content after the merger. Then again, Iger said he would keep Deadpool 2 R-Rated and they have divisions specializing for older audiences so why would they?

Maybe not, but I do have a feeling they will do something with some of the other Fox animated series, like "Family Guy" or "Bob's Burgers", because unlike "The Simpsons", Universal has nothing in the way of stuff themed to those properties.

As if Comcast's win wasn't enough, now Fox is set to sell it's 39% to them:

In other news, Comcast's shares went down while Disney went up days after the bidding war.
