Looks like Rapunzel's parents haven't made her get rid of that shoe lace thing on her chest. Well they made her ditch that white dress she wore under her dress.

^That's not from "Challenge of the Brave", but from one of the shorts on the "Tangled Before Ever After" DVD.
Here's the promo for the next episode. It looks like some characters from the film are returning:

Thanks. I've corrected it.

Ive been enjoying the series mostly for the art, I dont know why Im finding the story lines so far a bit boring with a few scenes here and there that I like. I found myself more interested in the stories from the Renaissance era film tv series more than this, but that could just be my nostalgia talking or that Im older now and am not the age target for this series(I have the same problem with Lion Guard, I like the art more than the stories, but then again that one i
s aimed at toddlers.)
was anyone else annoyed at how Mary Sueish Rapunzel was in this last episode? the fact she could ace such a cuthtroat contest with just her... dancing...really? I actually liked the earlier ep where that guy didnt like her b/c its more true to life, sometimes theres just gonna be people who aren't ever gonna like you(or you might ever not like them) and I think that's a good lesson for kids to learn.
Finally caught up with the last episode. It's really bizarre how much I like Flynn/Eugene here considering I hated him in the movie.
he still annoys me, especially in this latest episode, yeesh!

I saw the challenge of the brave episode today. I thought Rapunzel wasn't supposed to leave the castle cause her father wouldn't let her. You would think her parents would make her wear shoes.

Her being able to dance through the swinging hammer challenge was strange. As for the archery and other things, I rationalized It as being things she'd learned while being alone in Gothel. *I re-watched the last ep, and I realized I hadn't paid close attention to the ending with the painting. I thought what was special about it was that she included her mother, but it was that she had painted it herself. That was a nice idea.
You know, Rapunzel melting the cold, angry fighters in this episode reminded me of Ariel in TLM TV series, where she's liked by nearly everyone. I wonder if this show's doing well (ratings-wise) for Disney?

I guess as long as she doesn't leave the
kingdom again (as in, not letting Cassandra talk her into it anymore

), that's not an issue.
As for the not-wearing-shoes bit, Rapunzel certainly doesn't like wearing them, and it's a side effect from having stayed in a tower for 18 years. It's kinda adorable.

I already liked him in the movie, but he's my favorite character in the series so far. I think he's funnier here and maybe more likable for some reason. I love Rapunzel too, and I'm glad she still has her naive personality and learns new things each episode, while at the same time also teaches the rest valuable lessons. I'm also glad Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore returned for the show, I think they do a great job and are a big part of why the characters are so good. I didn't like their designs at first, because they look quite different than in the movie, but now that I'm used to them I don't have any problem with that at all.

Rapunzel has many physical skills as it's demonstrated in the original film, but I also thought she passed the events in the contest too easily.

I agree, it's a message that is not often taught and I think it's important, maybe now more than ever, when everybody wants to be "liked" on social media.
I liked Rapunzel and him didn't end up being friends, because then the message would've been ruined.

so Cass doesn't know who her real parents were, could she be Gothel's daughter?

When we learned she was the Captain of the Guard's daughter, we thought that was impossible. But now that it's possible again, the rumors have revived. She was already mysterious, but after this episode even more so. I have a feeling that, whether she's Gothel's daughter or not, her past will be explored in a future episode.

Should have locked Cass in the jail cell when she was wearing that white dress. No way Mother Gotel could have children she was an old lady when she found that flower.

There’s another fan theory I heard, that Cassandra and Eugene might be siblings. I don’t think it’s true because they look nothing alike, but that would explain why they are always arguing.
Just kidding.

last weeks ep had fantastic art direction! the snowy backdrops in the beginning, the whole sequence with Flynn and his old chum robbing the baron using just silhouettes, great stuff!
so I was a bit confused at the end, did the queen not tell the King about Flynn/Eugene having stolen the ring?

Yes, she didn't tell him about it. She said that Eugene had found it instead of telling him the truth. Here's the scene if you want to check it:

I didn't like that the Queen didn't forgive Eugene. I know what he did was bad, but she should know he has changed and is truly sorry.
By the way, here's a new featurette:
