BTW, there is some heated discussions over the colors used in Disney restorations between a couple of experts on HTF:

I found it interesting that they both agree that these are reinterpretations, not restorations and that the colors are not faithful to the original print or cells. I personally like these new grain-free reinterpretations, as they look more like art and less like filmed art. As for colors, Beauty and the Beast is really the only one that bothers me as it's the only controversial one I've seen in theaters.

I can't believe it... So, the transfers on the bonus DVD and on the Blu-Ray aren't the same? Do you think they will do the same with the European releases? Will someone from the United Kingdom buy both this and that?

Well, it looks like they took down that image I posted above for the time being. I guess they put it up a little too early, but hopefully everything will be ready to go by the end of the weekend!

Okay, I tried to input the ISBN code from my Masterpiece Edition DVD of AiW. But all I got was the 'Unknown Code!' message. What gives?!

Hmm, that's odd. I just tried my Masterpiece Collection VHS again and it still says "Code isn't live!"

Question: How much does Wal-Mart generally charge in-store for Blu-Ray combo packs like "Alice" first week? I haven't bought a Blu-Ray in store since "Snow White," so I can't recall their pricing.

Idk...it varies. Buy a Sunday Newspaper, and price match it if needed with the Best Buy ad....that's what I plan on doing....

Ugh. I'm really getting tired of arguments taking place over the colors in Disney restorations aren't you? lol They claim to have seen original prints but who's to say those are even correct? Beauty and the Beast apparently had it's colors compromised from the original intent when released in theaters. We heard that from the creators themselves. Who's really to say what's correct when it comes to a 60 year old film? I truly believe Disney has put a lot of care into their BD restorations. I do agree with you that this seems to be an open and shut case with them when it comes to the restorations. IMO, has big of experts they claim to be I'm not sure dismissing so quickly is such a good idea.

Oh and I loved how they were basically trashing DVD beaver's review.

I agree. Great review! It was refreshing to see that after reading the HTF's thread about it.

If that coupon offer starts working properly, I'm definitely going to go for this sooner then I was planning.

Still disappointing how the DVD included with the Blu-ray copy has the Masterpiece/Un-Anniversary Edition's restoration.

That is disappointing. I would have expected the DVD included to be the same restoration as the Blu-ray. It doesn't make sense for them to be different.

Great review Kelvin, I feel few would produce one as thorough as the one you've made and I definately appreciate the effort.

Could someone summerize the points made on HTF, such as how and when said individuals have come into contact with the original film related materials? Thinking about the new restoration myself I find it hard to believe three-strip technicolor could produce colours as pale and muted as the 2004 DVD when comparing it to others filmed in the same format, but that's just my view on a subject I don't claim to be an expert on.

I just remembered; this isn't the first Blu-ray combo pack to include a DVD copy that had a previous master of the movie. Other examples of this include the following:

- Monsters, Inc.
- Spaceballs
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Can someone please post the SKU number that works for the $10.00 off! It seems like it is live now.
