According to Peter Cullen, he won't be the voice of Eeyore anymore:

So, is Jim Cummings going to be the only voice-actor from The New Adventures days to play his respective character? Why is Disney replacing the actors?

We're scheduled to finish animation on Winnie the Pooh in early October.

Wow, this film has certainly not been in the forefront of my mind, and it's already almost finished! I cannot wait to see this movie!

And they're not laying off the animators?... then what will they let them do? There's nothing in the pipeline.
So the CG Tangled crew is gone, but the hand drawn animators are still there? Sitting around doing nothing...
Either way, I'm kinda looking forward to catching Pooh... on dvd or BD. I don't have a small child in my family I can use as an excuse to see it.

Musker and Clements have something in the works, remember. I don't think it's official yet, but I know that they pitched some stuff and are doodling around with ideas.

This is not just for you PatrickvD, but for anyone who is hesitant on going to see this and/or Tangled:
Please don't wait for the DVD/BD! If you're a Disney Animation fan, you'll find a way to go regardless of your age/sex. I'm a 24 year old male and I'm going, come hell or high water. This is do or die time at Walt Disney Animation Studios and I don't want it to disappear on my watch, do you? Bring your girlfriend/boyfriend, friends, family with you or go alone and enjoy, who cares what anyone else thinks! We need to prove to Disney that WDAS is just as viable as Pixar!!! For God's sake, look at which forum you're on right now! If Disney fans won't go see it, who will???

Beyond that, this film is kind of being made to re-boot the Pooh franchise. I'd suspect that this new Pooh film is going to attempt to appeal to a larger audience than the toddlers.

I like MutantEnemy's idea about bringing someone...if you don't want to feel like a creeper going alone, then bring someone...just not another older man, apparently, because then you'll feel like two creepers.
I don't think that it's creepy, as a Disney fan, but I can understand your concern!

Next June I'm going to march down to my local cinema, bang my fist on a table, and shout (so that everyone can hear) how I want one freaking ADULT ticket for Winnie the Pooh and that the lady at the box office better not give me any funny looks or she won't live to see the light of another day*.

... which is total and utter bullcrap since I'm more likely to be bullied by a celery than to threaten an eyebrow-raising woman.

Is EVERY Dreamworks employee someone who used to work for Disney?! I mean, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Chris Sanders, Gary Trousdale and even Mark Walton?

Basically, as soon as one artist is laid off in one studio (e.g. WDAS once production of Tangled wraps up) they are left jobless, making them seek employment in another studio (e.g. DreamWorks, which needs a very large workforce to maintain their 2 or 3 films per year schedule).
Don't worry about it too much. It's really quite normal. If we were working as animators in the USA, we would likely be bouncing from one studio to another too.

Yeah, what he said. In fact, look at Brenda Chapman. She started off on DIC, then moved to Disney, then headed to DreamWorks (where she directed The Prince of Egypt) and now she's over at Pixar, directing Brave.
I had no idea Walton was at DreamWorks now, though.

Meanwhile, animation is slated to wrap on Winnie the Pooh on or about October 4th. Management told the animation crew that there was some extra money for animation on the end credits, so character animation in and around the end-credits is being done.
The time-frame for Pooh's animation was expanded a bit, from September to early October, so I'm speculating that the original budget (reputed to be $35 million) was also expanded. (By how much, I dunno. Production budgets often have fictional elements in them, so it's difficult for a civilian to say.)

I can't believe the budget is only $35 million. It seems so little by todays standards. That is their cheapest DAC since Aladdin.

Animation's about to wrap? When is this being released!? We haven't even seen a trailer yet, for Pete's sakes! When are we going to hear something, anything from this film!?
