I can see if I can post a picture of mine tomorrow, if you can bear to wait that long . . .

But based on what I noticed, the only little change I saw was of Flounder IMO. He looked younger, not the longer, bulkier one from the litho (ugh.). Everything else seemed the same as the pictures we've seen of the new cover to me.

Oh, and the only insert I got in my copy was of my DMR points. GAH.

That's all I really wanted to know, and since you've been following the release with me this whole time, I definitely trust you. In that case, you don't need to do it, I'll most likely be getting it tomorrow, anyway. Thanks!

So ive got some questions that im hoping someone with the set could answer. 1) I know TLM2 has no insert but do TLM and TLM:AB come with the inserts. 2) I thought no matter where you bought the set you would get the lithos or is it only in target?

Hope any of you can help.

I don't have the set, but I know for a fact that some stores have exclusives, this is clearly one of them.

Wal-Mart had the lithos.

On the deleted song: It was so horrible and I think it was very smart to drop the song from the film. I did like some of the imagery near the end (after “I’m carpe-ing my diem--I’m seizing my day!”) where Morgana is completely in shadow, but even Pat Carroll couldn’t save that. I wish they hadn’t had Undertow sing that last line--he kind of drowned Morgana out. Some people were commenting on how good the animation is here, but I thought that Ursula’s song in the TV series had better animation than this. But then, I guess, compared to the movie itself

Also, after someone pointed out Adella’s change in the intro, I wonder if maybe the movie’s been edited in places where the animation is particularly awful. If they have, I hope they’ve fixed that scene with Morgana, where the animation and voicing don’t match (“Finally! I’ll succeed--at the one thing my sister never could!”).
Disney Duster wrote:Course it's always more exciting in the trailers and images until you finally watch it...!
That's true. I remember seeing the trailer for Return to the Sea on the Tarzan VHS and being really excited. That was such a long time ago, back before I was resigned to the crappiness of sequels. I don't think my family even had a computer then. But, yeah, what a letdown.

I think that's why I liked AB better, because I didn't expect much and got more.

The trilogy set comes with the lithos, not matter where sold. Every package that I have seen, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target & Disney all had the stickers. Its not a store exclusive.

Thank groodness, hopefully Sam's Club, too! :)

Disney's Divinity: I actually mentioned that out of sync moment when we were talking about the deleted scene (when all we knew was the title).
Then again, almost everything in TLM2 is out of sync (dialog-wise). I think the most noticeable is Morgana's "finally, I'll succeed at the one thing my sister never could!" while spinning around and looking at the audience. That's one of the main reasons why I think that the deleted song might be Morgana's (other than the fact that Ursula and Marina had one), perhaps that shot came from her song? I mean really- even Grimsby sang a line.
And it actually looks like I may have been right- there's a very similar shot in the deleted scene, just with ink effects and other stuff. It's a nice shot, just a sloppy replacement, since it's so noticeable.

In the trilogy set, do you get Disney Movie Reward points?

im watching this right now and one of the problems I have always had with this one is that they try to hard to make it into a musical. We really didnt need to have the first act as one big song.

Got mine! Haven't watched it yet.... maybe tonight.

joltman wrote:In the trilogy set, do you get Disney Movie Reward points?
I think you get points for each DVD. Just like if you bought them individually. I didn't buy the set though, so I'm only assuming.

Since the set is just a collection of the 3 movies, you would/should get points for each. All they do is package the movies into a box so its not any different from buying them individually.

It was for me, the inserts and code were removed from the TLM PE.

I got my Trilogy today and opened up all the cases to dispose of cellophane and tape. The Little Mermaid Platinum was the only one without a DMR code. That one's case actually didn't have anything in it. I stuck the lithographs in it so it wouldn't feel left out. LOL The lithographs were in a plastic wrapper wedge in among the cases. I'm not disappointed that LM Platinum in this Trilogy set didn't have a code because I bought LM Platinum back in 2006 and got a code from that copy.

Can anyone tell me if the movies come with a slip cover or not?

Oh Verms (uh...could I call you something short like that?), you being Japanese kind of says a lot about no matter where you come from, our interests and what makes us who we are has no boundries in culture or environment, goes across the whole world.

I can't believe you have to learn Hawaiin stuff. Do you need to learn many other languages and cultures, too? How did you no Hawaii had no Target? LOL. And I guess your parents speak Japanese with you?

The WHOLE thing about ADELLA. In the film, she is actually bigger, thicker, fatter, wahtever you want to call it than all of the other sisters! Yes, in the series she's even fatter, but that actually is keeping truer to the movie. We would have to think that she wasn't that big when she was younger in Ariel's Beginning...which...I would not like to think as a real part of Ariel's life...!

Hm Disney's Divinity. Yea, I think so.

I really think that shot with Morgan spinning looks cool, I also noticed the bad syncing since it first came out, and now I guess we know it was because it was originally synced to the song?! Cool!

Well, they did have to follow up the original film, who had an award winning song and score so... Go figure. :P

Mines all have slip covers, as well.

LMAO! That's cute.

You can call me Alex, if you want to. lol But "Verms" is fine, too. :P

I think it's important to mention that I was born and raised in Hawaii, it was my great grandparents who immigrated here. lol Just making sure I'm giving you the right picture. I'm completely Americanized, and know just as much, if not less Japanese than anyone else who would take a class for it. No, I don't speak Japanese with my parents, though they can (my dad lived in Japan for a few years when he was really little since my grandpa was in the military; my mom took six years of classes when she was very little) speak it fluently, and use it to talk sh-t about me and sometimes my sister (though mostly me) behind our back to our grandparents (who speak it fluently) and sometimes other people, too. It's like "hello, you made me take these classes, I know that you're talking about me..." lol

No, we just needed to learn about the state because it's a state requirement. My dad (who is a high school teacher) says that it's a waste of time, but he's also a complete racist --stard who is extremely lazy and hypocritical, so... I just don't listen to him.

Funny thing about Target, though. It just so happens that they featured a job search on the news, since they're building not one, but two here on Oahu. Of course, much too late for that Enchanted bonus disc. How did I know that we didn't? Same way I'm talking to you- the internet. lol

I guess that's all. lol I'm totally spilling my guts here, I hope no one stalks me.

Anyway, I got the trilogy set today at Sam's Club (and yes, they had the lithographs, so yeah, they're probably standard in the release). All three of mine had slip covers, and the box art looks amazing as ever (the title "The Little Mermaid" on the cover of the US version is much bigger and covers some of her tail, while the UK version doesn't touch it at all- just thought I'd mention for those who needed to know the difference).

The back cover, unlike the UK version, features the new cover for the Special Edition release of TLM2, rather than the original cover, probably because they don't have the Special Edition.

The spines look like this, an obvious difference in the previously reported purple TLM2 spine. (in order, TLM, TLM2, TLM:AB) The original's spine is a solid royal blue, TLM:AB's is a dark green (has a faded spine with some art from the front cover), and TLM2, like TLM's spine, is a solid blue, but lighter and more murky. From memory:

I can post pictures of the box that I took really fast when I snuck it upstairs, but only if a lot of people want it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to check out the cover of TLM2, since when I went, there was this lady standing there reading the back covers of every Disney movie. Oh well, at least I can rest knowing I will be getting it. Unfortunately, I have to wait until Christmas for it (along with all of the other DVDs I wanted- Charmed: The Complete Series [Limited Deluxe Edition], 50 First Dates, Phil of the Future... :D) lol I feel like such a spoiled brat. :(

Oh just the regular release. I like the set box cover.... with the original poster on it. But I don't really want to double dip.... (tripple dip for TLM since a friend borrowed mine and never returned it!) I was trying to think if I could give my copies as gifts to anyone..... LOL but nah....
