Wow, I'm REALLY excited about all three titles!

Donald is my favorite shorts star of the Fab 5, and I am particularly partial to his later outings with those mischevous rodents, Chip and Dale - so it's great to see this series move one step closer to completion.

As a parks fan, the DL set was already exciting, but now I am MORE so with the inclusion of classic feauturettes and anthology episodes from the Walt-era.

I like how those older shows (most of which were directed by Hamilton Luske) have slower-than-modern pacing which just envelopes the viewer in the sights and sounds of the park and it's attractions, almost like you are there. By the mid/late 70's, this format would be replaced by a variety show format merely set in the park, with the park relegated to the role as backdrop.

I have all these park shows on tape from Vault Disney (when the Disney channel was still DISNEY in content), but it will be great to get more of them on DVD.)

However, I sincerly hope that these transfers are not plagued with the problems (read EDITS) that made the Disneyland USA set one of my biggest DVD disapointments, as 3 of those programs were modified.

Most notably, DL 10th Aniversary Show was missing several MINUTES of musical footage inside the Tiki Room that I have on tape from the Vault Disney airing of the same program. Whether there were rights issues with the songs or rather 2 different masters (with perhaps one from a Walt-era rerun) and an honest mistake made is unclear, but from what I've read here, the missing footage was not restored on the program's subsequent treasures appearance. But this missing footage WAS my fave part of the show, being a big Animatronic musical fan, leaving my homemade videotape my "definitive" version of this show.

Also, Dateline Disneyland was missing some footage of the Mouseketeers, and Disneyland After Dark had an inane subtitle appear on the screen during the Tahitian Terrace sequence.

I really appreciate that they are making these programs available on DVD, but please Leonard/BVHE, no more edits :)

Well, *I* think they're quite good.
In general I agree. Hardly greatness, but nevertheless worthwhile.

Perfect in every way!

All three DVDs look fine. Im looking forward for tha long awaited Disneyland celebration. Every new Donald Duck volume is great to own, cause it offers so much fun! Im just reading a book about Walt Disney where the Oswald character is mentioned, so its gonna be great to see it my own. I want all three of them... The only missing pieces in my Treasures Collection are The Complete Gooffy and Davy Crocket. Does anybody of you have any ideas where I can get these two via normal way of online shopping? THX for help if any  !

I've been collecting them since the beginning, and have all of them. I don't want to break tradition now do I?

Well, unfortunately, my only suggestions for you on where to get the DVDs is at eBay. They're out of stock at Amazon (at least Goofy is).

In a very interesting interview, Dick Cook said two things very interesting :
Box Office Mojo: Will the Treasures DVD series continue?

Dick Cook: Yes.

Box Office Mojo: Has the Tru-Life Adventures DVD series sold well?

Dick Cook: They're doing fine. I think that they will end up doing well over time as an evergreen. We're really excited about doing more things in the nature area. We have so much of a heritage in that area.

Box Office Mojo: There will be another release of the Tru-Life DVD series?

Dick Cook: Yes.

Nice of him to say that! Hopefully, we won't just have the classic animated shorts completed but even more interesting classic TV and other material.

Thank goodness for that! I wasn't looking forward to another letter writing campaign this year. :D

Having said that, though, I'm assuming that I'm about to be very impressed by the Oswald set (and hopefully by ChronDon3 as well) - so I think a letter/email of thanks to Disney might be in order, to let them know that the continuance of the Treasures line is appreciated.

I hope he didn't just mean the three volumes to be released this December... We already knew about them.
Do you think it would be fun - and appreciated - to gather a wish list of things we'd like to see in the Treasures series and send it to Disney?
Box Office Mojo: There will be another release of the Tru-Life DVD series?

Dick Cook: Yes.
I wonder what they could be. The four volumes last year included all True-Lifes already, didn't they? People and Places perhaps? I'd love to see those.

Really? That's pretty sweet if they are, I was hoping they'd do that last year.

As an evergreen? I never heard that term before.

An "evergreen" is a title that is constantly available. i.e. not something available in limited number like the Treasures, or limited time like the Platinums. They are title which will be constantly available until a time Disney decided to stop manufacturing further print runs.

PEOPLE AND PLACES: DISNEYLAND U.S.A.

I have this on vhs tape and I really like it - it is a color version of some of the early disneyland footage that was shown on the disneyland tv show in black and white.

I think this is actually bad news. I would of liked to seen all of the People and Places. I know it was on the list of proposed 08 Treasures but Leonard Maltin said several items had been rejected so I am worried.
