It seems they're more concerned with attracting people's attention than emulating what the movie is actually like. If we were to properly take the still with Tremaine with the wand in the garden literally, it wouldn't make any sense at all for Cinderella to be wearing her rags if she stumbles upon the scene (and don't get me started on her hair in all of the pics). Also, that pic with everyone together image is just a cast group shot, nothing more. Disney movies have group shots quite often that don't correlate with any specific scene. DVD covers (and especially the older VHS covers) are perfect examples of this.
He's right, you know? I remember when I bought 'The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea' there were so many scenes on the cover that were not in the film! I remeber that there was one particular one with Ariel and Melody swimming together as mermaids... They are gorgeous but they are not real moments from the films!

Disney Duster, thank you for your kind words! You are such a cool person!
yes, i remembered that one!
i was very sad when i discovered that they don't swim together in the final film , cause that would be very cool

I love the promotional images! Very cool indeedy. But your right, I think its just to illustate the plot more than being factual to the movie.

I'm desperate to get the boxset, but again, I already have Cinderella Special Edition. But I noticed the logo on the box only said Cinderella Special Edition - does that mean it will be one disc? As I thought Cinderella was going back into the vault soon?

Ahhhh Disney Duster, its a big decision time for you know, isn't it? There are three choices for you:

1. Just buy Cinderella III: A Twist In Time (as youve already preordered it).

2. Get the boxset of Cinderlla I and III

3. Get the boxset of Cinderella I, II, and III from Japan !! !!

Decisions, decisions..........

Also, I found this on Amazon.co.uk - I know it;s already been posted, but I just thought I'd let people know it is availible in the UK:

I love the image. It is beautiful. Boxsets are coming out? Where? In the US? Is one going to have II and III? or is Cinderella I, II, and III, only from Japan? Thanks.

 Oh, bradhig, your comments are so awesome. Remember, those were just promotional images. The coloring book you read would be more true to the final film. But don't say what you read in this thread...we're trying to be spoiler-free in here.

Well, actually I was thinking that maybe Tremaine used the wand to put Cinderella in her rags first, just to be mean and test out the wand's power. Then she turns back time and Cinderella is aware of it but can't do anything in front of the Duke or something. But you're right, these images are more about just promotion and giving you a feel for the movie. You're also right about her hair. And she's horribly drawn in the cast portrait.

 Thanks for thinking of me! Well, I won't get the boxset of just I and III, because I have two copies of the original's Platinum already (though I may give it to my friend since she's collecting Disney DVDs now). But the Japanese set of all three offers new artwork and gold discs, so I may consider that if I have enough moolah! By the way, I happen to also own that book you posted a picture of. It's a coloring book with surprisingly on-model drawings at times. Its beautiful all throughout, and the cover even has glitter (I'm pathetic...)! And no, I haven't peeked at the ending of that one, either!

Oh, well, I still think it's awesome the way you use those phrases!

No worries Disney Duster! How can I watch Cinderella now, without thinking of you, or or cool factoids!

I wanted to ask about ordering from Japan. Is it terribly difficult? As i've never ordered from abroad before (I live in England). I really don't think I can let the Cinderella boxed set pass me buy. I was going to get TLM Platinum from Japan due to its beautiful cover art, but stopped as they might do something like the Cinderella boxset for TLM I, II and III. Any help would be great! :)

wrestling_stat, if you look on this thread, you will find that the UK are getting this (the US as well?):

And Japan are getting this, one of the most beautiful boxsets ever:

Also, I just found this, the Special Edition version of Cinderella in Japan. I don't know if anyone has spotted this yet, but look at the HUGE mistake they made on the otherwise beautiful cover ! :

Sorry - I can't post the pic!

Why the mistake I wonder?

Yes, I think the same! She should have a heart on the front, not a bow !! !! !! Where did that come from ?? ??

That is what I was wondering. The UK is getting it, and Japan has the other Boxset. Is anything coming to the US like this?

Cinderella III: A Twist In Time

atlanticaunderthesea, one time my parents ordered some manga (Japanese graphic novels) for me from Japan, but it was at another site, not Amazon.co.jp. I can't help you with something I haven't done myself, but if I save up enough money and my parents let me, I will order it (or watch my parents order it since I don't have a credit card), and let you know how to do it. I think Japan will also give The Little Mermaid a boxset like it, since they seem to love that movie above all other Disney flicks (and they apparently love mermaids in general).

I'm proud of people here for seeing that the bow on the slipper is wrong! SPOILERActually, in my Cinderella III coloring book (that atlanticaunderthesea posted a picture of), it shows Cinderella picking up the pieces of the slipper's heart after her stepmother broke it. The heart broke in half, representing Cinderella's own broken heart. So, I think the heart is rather important, and perhaps the designers of the shoe in the original movie chose a heart to represent it's connection with the Prince and Cinderella's love.END OF SPOILER

Old Fish Tale...WOW. I can't even begin to say how extremely, tremendousy impressed I am by what you found. So I won't tell you how impressed you made me, but how happy you made me!

I have been checking the Japanese site for an update many times over these past days, but found nothing, so I assumed they would just keep it that way like the Cinderella II site which looked just like it and stayed the same. But now, I see it's been updated and it's gorgeous! I mean, first the stepmother is now purple like in the film, so that's cool, then, I get to see all the detailed, original-matching backgrounds for the film, and we get to see that new image of Cinderella which is so well-drawn and beautiful! Click on some of the yellow things at the bottom and see a background with the castle gate (it's frickin' unbelievable)! My only complaint is that they use Cinderella's regular coach as the pages load. I wanted to see the twisted pumpkin coach.

Also, it's great that you found quicktime videos on IMDB! I just can't get them to load for some reason... Oh well. By the way, I found this totally neat, totally HUGE picture from Cinderella III. I'm not sure if it's a real frame or just something for the layout of a scene, because the characters look like they're not in movement, but it's worth checking out! PC users can even zoom in!:

Wow, that Japanese cover is stunning. I'd love to see a gift pack with that cover. It's just amazing.

Thanks Disney Duster for your help!

Wow, that is indeed an amzing pic! And HUGE ! But I do think that the characters have been plonked there, and have been taken from somewhere else. You know? They don't seem to fit in the scene. But an amazing pic though!

I just cannot see why the animators made such a huge mistake in the cover art! If it seems obvious to us, why not the animators?
