What I don't like is that they are now trying to milk as much money as possible without simply sitting down and thinking about how to make an ever better movie in the future. Like imagine if they announced Giants or Moana or their future animated movies instead of saying that more merchandise will be made for Frozen! Imagine if they said that they will strive to make movies that are even better instead of saying that frozen might get a sequel.

I know that a lot of people here don't like Grace, but I honestly admire her piece on Animation today. It is that animation today is a battle between quality vs quantity at the box office. Companies have a mentality that any animated movie will bring in money, so why bother making a good one? Which is what happened with The Nut Job.
Who says Disney isn't sitting down and thinking about how to make a better movie? The division responsible for milking Frozen is not the same as the division that makes the films. So just because we see one side of the company working towards merchandise, doesn't mean that WDAS has put all its creative energy on hold. Furthermore, suggesting Frozen might get a sequel doesn't compromise WDAS' ability to make an amazing film.

Btw, there's nothing wrong with merchandise. Merch is you taking home a piece of your favourite movie. It's a wonderful important piece of childhood and something that brings much innocent joy. Disney milking a film brings much happiness to many.

After finally seeing a modern Disney animated film do renaissance-like business, people are complaining about them milking Frozen. After a decade of Shrek, Toy Story, Cars & Ice Age we finally have a WDAS film at the top. I know a lot of people have been brain-washed over the last decade by Pixar & Dreamworks, it's strange to them seeing a WDAS film being this successful in the modern era. Also, WDAS has Big Hero 6 coming in around 9 months, less than a year after Frozen's release. That's the film that needs to do big BO numbers. If BH6 can put up "The Incredibles" like numbers, that will show the big-wigs at Disney that BO success isn't limited to just Frozen/Tangled. BH6 must do better than Wreck-It Ralph, as that film is all but forgotten by Disney now. Frozen will keep going strong for the next 2 months, as it enters award season "The Annies, BAFTAs & Oscars", also, it need about $29mil more domestic to surpass Despicable Me 2 as the highest-grossing domestic animated feature of 2013 & by late March when it comes out on DVD, that should do it for Frozen. After that, WDAS will be getting ready for Big Hero 6, teaser trailer, character images, voice-actors announced, ect.

I miss the days when Disney's making-of documentaries actually had some substance to them.

A part of me is hoping that the paltry extras here is simply to placate anyone who wants extras now, while an "Ultimate Collector's Edition" is being prepped for Holiday 2014, including the 3-D version, and a bonus disc with extensive making-of material. That would certainly explain why the 3-D version isn't offered now.

The late Michael Ansara played Mr. Freeze. Maurice LaMarche played The King in Frozen.

No, I was asking if that was LaMarche playing Mr. Freeze in the video. I believe he voices the character in the Batman: Arkham City video game.

And some more speculation on a possible Frozen 2.

http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/ ... litis.html
It may or may not strike. But a financial mag speculates.

Will Disney Make 'Frozen 2'?

Under normal circumstances, a film like Frozen would normally be all-but-guaranteed to get a sequel. ... But Frozen isn’t just any normal film. It’s a Disney animated film. Over the last 76 years, only five of Disney’s theatrical animated features have merited genuine sequels that played in theaters. ...

Writer Scott Mendelsohn expounds at length on the exceptions: Rescuers Down Under, the many direct-to-video sequels to classic features that don't count because ... well, because they're direct-to-video (although some were released theatrically in foreign venues), or Winnie-the-Pooh movies, or whatever. So there! ...

But all this is silly.

Sequels get made because they have a guaranteed marketability factor and therefore higher odds of turning a profit. And movie companies always like better odds.

But Disney Feature Animation has never had a great need to do sequels. For instance, a sequel could have been made of the mid-fifties hit Lady and the Tramp, but developing and producing 101 Dalmations got the studio over the same goal line: another highly successful cartoon feature with dogs.

It's the same now. Walt Disney Animation Studios could have made Tangled 2; instead it produced Frozen #1 with a different princess and got itself another hit.

Disney's formula is much like the old studio system. One Clark Gable picture was much like another ... but not a sequel. One Dick Powell musical was very similar to the previous candidate, with Dick smiling winningly and singing his heart out to a Warner Bros. ingenue, but playing a different character.

And Republic Pictures didn't make sequels to John Wayne's cowboy blockbusters. It just made another cowboy picture with the Duke, giving him a new name and a fresh hat, a new love interest and different set of villains. There was no need to make a sequel, because all the same ingredients were in place for another money-maker.

The same thing happens with the Mouse's Princess pictures. It's the formula, not the sequel, that's important.
So, in other words, we can be expecting new Disney princesses. Yeah, big shock.

To the person who was bothered cause Anna wasn't wearing any leggings or stockings under her nordic outfit.
She is wearing one, just not that long. You can see in the scene when she's sliding down with Olaf, she's wearing pants.

Nope....
Because it's a musical sequence.
And I'm pretty sure at this point that they're keeping everything for the inevitable 3D ULTIMATE SUPER-DOOPER SPECTACULAR FREEZING EDITION.
