I find it really interesting that apparently higher-ups warned Chapek against backing Strange World for having a gay character, and I'm even more surprised that this article is playing it like that was just another mistake Chapek made. Like ... whose side are they on?

The wrong side. Chapek made the right choice to have a gay character in Strange World.

Yeah, when I read that, I was thinking, it's the 2020s, it's about damn time we get a gay character...it wasn't a mistake at all.

There was nothing unjust about that firing, when you work for a company, and you make them look bad by putting your seriously bad takes out there like that, this is what's going to happen, and you will probably have deserved it. Freedom of speech does not apply here. That is about government, not your employeer.
