Wow, that illustration is gorgeous. I'm glad they're updating the art for the non-Disney Princess films. The same website has one for Snow White and one for Bambi but the Bambi one uses outdated art.

They're doing a lot for Pinocchio this year because there will also be a Disney Animated Classic book for it.

And while this isn't Disney, Minalima (they work on the Harry Potter films) is doing an interactive pop-up book for Pinocchio as well. They've done mostly Disney titles including The Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and Alice in Wonderland so far.

Wow, those are really pretty pictures for Pinocchio. And so close to how the film actually looks!

Just wondering: For those of you who've bought the new rendition of The Art of Mulan book. Is it updated with material of the live action remake?

I like books with artwork from all of those listed below, even if only the first half of them are what I associate with the Disney books I grew up with (don't know which edition, as they have been reprinted numerous times):

Al Dempster
Bill Layne
Art Riley
Dick Kelsey
Lowell Hess
Retta Scott
Mary Blair
Gustaf Tenggren
Eyvind Earle
Maurice Noble

I knew this question was asked but I couldn't find it: Thanks to Disney's Divinity! The book came in the mail today; I flipped through it and saw no images from the live action film.

Oh, thanks for the answer. But is it updated with the new information or something?

Disney's official site says: "stunning additional visual development artwork and a new foreword by Thomas Schumacher."

*edit* Disneynerds.com says that the forward is the only mention of the live action film.

Do anyone know why that Disney Afternoon book is never released? It keeps getting pushed back, over and over.

I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up like The Disney Prince if it's been pushed back many times already. Disney probably puts as little investment in their TV shows as they do the Disney princes.

ugh, still salty they didn't release that Disney Prince book! :x And I suppose it will never be released now that Disney has deemed Disney princes as "toxic" or whatever.

I won't be getting that book as I'm not a huge Nightmare fan, but that cover is sooo cool.

I did get the Cinderella book. I really like it.

I'm not really a Nightmare fan either so I'll probably skip that as well.

I'm glad you got the Cinderella one and that you like it! I need to pick that one up soon. I only have Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, and Aladdin right now. I also want Dumbo, Lion King, and Pinocchio.

Hope you can get the books you want and like them! :)

So, I bought this Cinderella book on Amazon. Yes, it is French. You can order French books from the US Amazon store! I couldn't find it in English. I knew that it used the same illustrations that the "My First Disney Princess Bedtime Storybook" and Cinderella: Signature Edition Target Exclusive "Cinderella: The Courageous Princess" books used, but...wow, it had 40 pages of so many beautiful illustrations! It was really, really nice! They did so many scenes lifted straight from the film, and showed different perspectives of some scenes like seeing her crying face as her father died, and showed scenes not in the film like Cinderella giving Lucifer a bath, and seeing the palace from the coach as Cinderella arrived. I am so glad I have this book! I tried looking for a Snow White version for a friend, but didn't find it. Maybe if you try, you guys can find more books like these for your favorite princesses!

I also found this cool flip book of Cinderella's transformation, also in French. Maybe you guys can find more flip books of your favorite Disney moments?

Yes, hopefully soon!

Oh wow, that book looks great even if I despise the blonde hair color. And those illustrations you described from different POVs not seen in the film sound amazing. I have no issue buying books in a different language even if I can't read them (I might have purchased a Harry Potter boxset in Thai for the covers and illustrations alone lol) but I must say that $37 for a paperback book seems a little extravagant for me. If you don't mind my asking, did you purchase it at that price or was it much cheaper and more reasonably priced when you got it?

That flip book looks really cool as well. They seem to have a lot of variety.

Yes, I find the book amazing. My only real problem was some parts weren't accurate in some ways and when Cinderella's dancing with the prince her dress is drawn badly, but those are the only real things wrong. The version of the book I bought was not paperback but a padded hardcover, and it was only a little over $4.

I checked out those Thai Harry Potter books. Freaking amazing covers!!!

At least Cinderella looking inaccurate in her ballgown isn't anything new unfortunately. Oh wow, I can't believe that your hardcover edition was only around $4 and the paperback version on Amazon is selling for nearly 10x that amount. I'll have to keep my eye out for the hardcover version then.

They really are. And not just the covers but also the box set and each book has chapter headings and illustrations in the same art style. The box set was super expensive but I purchased it anyway lol because I simply had to own it. That's the main reason I haven't bought the Cinderella Castle Collection set yet.

True, but I could deal with her dress being blue if it weren't for flipping an image from the film so details are on the wrong side, a picture is taken from another book and just modified so Cinderella's hairstyle is the wrong one for that moment, and other color problems. I will say, her hair is still an ever so slightly orange-tinted sandy color in the book in person. I would try looking in the "Used" and "New" sections to see if the book ever gets sold lower priced. I actually think my book was called paperback when I bought but turned out to be padded hardcover, so maybe they all are.

That's so cool about your Harry Potter books and I am so glad you have them and like them!

Oh flipping the character design is another pet peeve of mine like when Ariel's bangs are on the wrong side. And that's really weird that they used the wrong Cinderella hairstyle for a scene. At least you feel her hair is slightly orange so that's a slight improvement over the canary yellow she normally gets. Yeah, I always look at the used sections for any "new" or "like new" items. Hmm, maybe their version of paperback is the same as padded hardcover like you think. I'll keep that in mind as I search for this book.

I haven't received them yet unfortunately because shipping from Thailand apparently takes about 2-3 months.

Yeah, I totally noticed the Ariel's bangs being flipped when I read Little Mermaid storybooks as a kid! And was so mad!

Oh, ok, well I hope you get your Harry Potter books soon, and enjoy them!
