The comic version of Rapunzel looks like Betty Cooper from the Archie comics haha.

In the comic:

She is awfully old to be experiencing fireflies for the first time. You would think she would have seen them when she was young too. Rapunzel might be new to experiencing everything on ground, but surely she saw a lot about nature from her tower. She is not like Ariel who is completely new to the above water world.

It actually looks like after Rapunzel finds Pascal during hide and seek.

I barely recall seeing any fireflies myself so maybe she's not too old?

Thanks! :D

The Japanese trailer is amazing! 8) Btw, there are many lines that weren't used for the movie. Rapunzel says "This is it. I'm gonna see the world" while Mother Gothel says in this trailer "I must have that hair. Get her!" and "We will be bound together forever" which weren't featured in the movie. Do you think these lines were recorded just for the Japanese trailer or were they recorded for an early draft of the script?

Leo Little's Big Show wasn't bad either (which I'd never heard of before); the girl was funny.

You mean when you were growing up? But to "barely remember" is still to remember. ;)

I could see this being a possibility if you lived in an area that doesn't have fireflies. But if Rapunzel's woods have them, certainly she would have seen them before her teenage years. They just write stories they think are cute without thinking things through.

Ugh. Why is is that Rapunzel's concept designs are always so much much better than the finished product? I mean, I like her and all, but she could have looked better.

I know I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said before. I just wanted to be heard, darn it! :tink:

Does anyone of you understands the "technique" rapunzel's using when she's "sliding" down the tower with her hair. I've been thinking alot about it but I can't figure it out.

here's are a few pictures if you have no idea what I'm talking about:

*Sigh*

Another terrific looking feature that will only be on Blu Ray (The making of documentary hosted by Mandy Moore And Zach Levi. Would have been like those old Disney channel making of shows where at least one of the actors from the movie hosts the behind the scenes. Although as long as it's not in the vein of Jason Alexander hosting the making of Hunchback I'm totally cool with it.

No, I'm just very curious about it. (It would be pretty cool though)

I don't mind how Rapunzel turned out. It's Flynn's older designs that I like better than the finished product. :P

Doesn't she simply "hook" her hair onto something, grab the hair on both sides of the hook with both hands, and slides down? In her hands, one side of the hair is going up and the other is going down... does that make sense?

Rapunzel turned out quite well from the development phase. Though it would be nice if Disney could pick another body type besides the petite to be a princess figure. (And no, I'm not endorsing ugliness for politically-correct's sake.)
