Maybe it's to expensive for you, but you could import it from
Germany, where it's coming out next month.

I will get the Blu-Ray at Target Tuesday, but I really do not like the exclusive purse that will come with it as I have no use for it since I use a wallet.

You could switch to a purse?

A boy always can use a change purse.

I like the Toys R Us bonus of getting a free kissing frogs toy if you spend $30 or more on PATF material, but since the Blu-Ray combo pack only adds up to somewhat less fhan $30 overall and I have no interest in the dolls, I'm going to have to pass on that.

I have a little under $30 of a Best Buy giftcard and I'm torn as to how I will divided up between getting TPatF (Combo Pack), Toy Story 1 & 2 Combo Packs, and standard DVDs of Ponyo, Totoro and Castle in the Sky which I have yet to buy.
Any advice is appreciated. I will definitly be using the coupons for the combo packs.

If anyone has a Disney Store near them, you can still preorder the Princess and the Frog DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack until Monday night at closing, for only $24.99. Two bucks cheaper than Target! =)
Some stores may still have the free gift with the preorder (my store is sold out), which is a set of four 11x14 lithographs, plus you get a coupon for either $10 off of your next purchase starting Tuesday when the movie is released, or $20 off if you spend $40 or more.
To make this deal even sweeter, Disney Stores ARE accepting the manufacturer's coupon!
If you can't make it in to preorder for the lithos and coupon by tomorrow, you can still use the manufacturer's coupon until 3/21 at get the combo pack for $14.99.

If I end up getting this movie at Target, I'll just give the change purse to my niece since the gift is for her anyway. It does look cute.
Any freebies from Walmart?
And I'm just getting the basic dvd.

The Best Buy and Target freebies are only with either Blu-Ray versions of the movie, not the 1-disc DVD.

As much as I hate to say it, but don't get any Ghibli film (for now) because they will always be 19.99. If you can get both Toy Stories with your gift card, for sure get that. It's better to get both Toy Stories cause you will save more by buying it release week than Princess on release week.

I don't have time to look at this whole thread. Can someone tell me what features are on the DVD only version? I'm not buying a blu ray even in combo form.

Here's the always reliable UD review which gives a thorough run-down of the bonus features. Unfortunately, the DVD got the shaft in the bonus features catagory:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/princessandthefrog.html
(The bonus features on the standalone DVD are the same as the ones on the DVD in the combo pack used for the review)

This is such complete crap! Screwing over the people who don't buy in to their blu ray force feeding. They can keep their bonus features. I'm not converting. Thanks for posting the breakdown

Yeah, I don't have a Blu-ray player and I'm not wasting money on a barebones DVD. Pay-per-view only, I guess.
Don't the Blu-ray/DVD combo's cost around $30?

Nope, it's more like $26.99 and with the coupon, it's only $17 plus tax.

So if I pre-ordered on Amazon, should I get it today, do you guys think?

You should get it by Thursday, though a lot of past pre-orders have come day-of.

Got my P&TF combo pack from Best Buy but have to go back because they didn't get ANY books in. They're hoping they'll arrive late this afternoon on today's truck.

I hate having to make two trips.

My Amazon.com orders for DVD's haven't been arriving until Friday lately! But then again, I'm cheap so I use the super saver shipping.
Years ago, even that method of shipping would get you the DVD on release day from Amazon.com. Sadly, not anymore.
