I hope that they at least include the original 1940 trailer. That was the only bonus feature shown on the GE DVD of the movie!

I also am holding out for shorts with Figaro (with and without Pluto) and Jiminy Cricket (the "I'm No Fool" series, anyone?).

Hello, you forgot about the full-color artwork on disc!

Maybe he'll be too excited about the trailers to care too much...maybe the two bonus features will even themselves out... :?

I'm really enjoyin this cover, Disney should cont. this type of design, really can't see the x-mas side of the cover to be honest. I don't see any problems with the cover, very creative and lovely.

No music video? or they don't have one yet?

No they don't have one yet, this isn't Cinderella or The Little Mermaid, this is a 70 year old classic. Ashely Tisdale needs extra preparation before she murders something from the soundtrack.

You call artwork on the disc a bonus? I was talking about real and competent bonus features.

It's a joke. The old editions (Limited Issue and Gold Collection) listed full-color artwork as a bonus feature:

UD's review wrote:But they did at least throw in a good laugh free of charge. If you need some quick humor, look no further than the back cover, which lists "full-color character artwork on disc" as a special feature. That's right, folks, the label on the top side of the disc that we all thought was standard is really a special feature.

What are the odds that they may actually NOT have a murderous music video for once?

Better than the odds of you getting a joke about disc art. ;)

Here's what I have to say about "Jiminy's Word Builder":

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot OMFG! Are they intentionally trying to make kids illiterate by making crappy games that they WON'T play?

But yay, trailers! But they're in the UK!

Well, I've been an Anglophile long enough, I might as well move over there even though my anglophile-ness is really limited to their TV shows and their words spelt differently. Still, any excuse to visit the UK...

wow this is one of the more dramatic restorations i've seen. looks nice though, maybe a little too green, though it's hard to tell from one frame.

I don't quite yet know what to think of this comparison.

Although I know for sure there's gonna be a lotta complaining, or rather re-complaining.

magicalwands, where did you find that before and after restoration picture from?
was it from some kind of blu-ray forum?, just by searching for it on the net?, or did you get it yourself?

those before/after pictures are old. They were released around the time Pinocchio got a SE treatment in Europe and Japan.

I believe this was a Lowry restoration. But it's safe to say the Blu-Ray PE restoration, just like Sleeping Beauty, is going to take it a step further compared to the SE dvd restoration.

Like most, I too am rather skeptic about this current colourdisplay
for the TBA pinocchio bluray....

Then again as said here earlier it's just one frame set against the other.

That being said....

I personally prefer the rather pastel colors like these...

(both are non-final key-art)

It seems to me that with every restoration we get it needs to look like it was released yesterday and that goes against the original vision and the true movie-experience, altough I have to admit that in most cases I do prefer the ''changes'' , just not with ''classic disney'' like Pinocchio, SWhite..

Just my own humble opinion really....

But that's the point of restoration. Not to make it look like it was cranked out from the studio in October 2008, but to present how it looked in February 1940---and no home media release or theatrical re-release in the past 60 years has been able to provide that experience.

A member from dvdactive posted it in the comments in the Pinocchio press release. I haven't seen it before so I thought I would post it here.

I'm really excited to see some pictures of this restoration. I watch my Gold Collection copy the other day and could only really imagine how much better it can get.

Hey I have some good news for Sprince

A friend of mine in LA just auditioned for a music video...

The music video is for Disney...

It's a music video for "When You Wish Upon A Star"...

It's being performed by Megan Martin from Camp Rock.

I give you all one guess about where this is going.
