Hey Disney Duster! Just wanted to say that I got your PM, but for some reason, it won't let me PM you back. Fortunately, I can receive PMs. So if you don't mind, could you please PM me your email address so I can reply back to you. BTW, you gave a very intelligent answer to my question, and there's more I want to share.

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS TITLE! I AM A LITTLE MERMAID FREAK!
To answer the question of why is Eric in the film if its a prequel? Remember the earlier posts that discussed the idea of a prequel/sequel, I think that's what we need to remember when discussing this film. Rather then the idea that Ariel is telling Melody about her past perhaps the reason she and Sebastian are upset with Eric is because that has to do with her past. Perhaps the film will begin with us wondering whats going on with Ariel and Eric and then the flashbacks to Ariel's past reveal her doing something or meeting someone who in the future she has to find or Eric has to kill (if indeed they are after some sort of whale). I don't believe though that Eric would be that disrespectful of Ariel's past life as a mermaid but its a few thoughts. Perhaps the events of her past have just caused a problem for her and Eric (and the ocean) in the future and they are out on the ship because Ariel has to return to the sea to stop it. Either way I doubt Eric will appear in flashback. Instead he'll appear in the present and then Ariel will remember the past that links to that present in someway. At least thats my theory.
I am so excited. First Cinderella III which looks amazing and then an equally amazing film to follow fantastic.
All I have to quiry is that if Disney are going to all the trouble of getting Tara Strong back to play Ariel's sisters why not give Melody a cameo in the present scenes. Unless as we have discussed before it is set between Films 1 and 2 (which as we know with Disney is a common theme).

Hmmmm sounds like a good theory. But again, we are all coming back to flashbacks. In everyones version of the story, there are always flashbacks involved!
Tara Strong is a very good voice actress, and so thats probably why they got her back; and her previous connection with TLM. It would fit in that Melody sounded like her Aunts!

I suppose your right about Tara Strongs voice over and that it doesn't nessassarily have to be flashbacks. I just can't understand the presence of Eric any other way. It would be stupid to make it they met when they were younger or it was some alternate reality thing cause we already get to see that with Cinderella III.
Hmmm... One thing I will piont out though is that the outfit Ariel is wearing in the storyboards is her blue corsetted outfit with the bow from the end of the first movie (the one she wears during Kiss The Girl and the tour of the Kingdom scene).
In terms of the story we can all agree the bulk of the film is a prequel but you never know how Disney will handle it now that they've come such a long way with Cinderella III (in a good way of course). They've done prequels and midquels so many times I wouldn't be suprised if they tackled this film a totally different way.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

3. Ariel's sister's will feature in it ( Source - Tara Stong's MySpace)
4. Melody will NOT be in it (Source - Tara Stong's MySpace).

Thanks atlanticaunderthesea. I really wanted it to look good since its the first one I've ever had.

I am in such a Little Mermaid mood that I have downloaded all those youtube segments you put together and I'm currently listening to my favourites: In Harmony and Dare to Dance.
I decided to make my avatar be a mix of Cinderella III and TLM III since they are the two Disney titles I am most looking forward to this year. I'm sure they will be great!

This was very kindly posted on The Little Mermaid PE DVD Discussion thread by
JiminyCrick91
, and as it had some info regarding TLM III, I thought I would post it here! Its an MP3 track, so it will have to be downloaded. Right click and select 'save target as':

In the interview, Jodi mentions TLMIII, and says she has just finished a new cd, the soundtrack to TLMIII !! !! So from that, we can assume that a soundtrack will be released, with all new songs! (As she says)!! Woooo!
Its a wonderful interview as well!

This is quite exciting! I can't believe there's no mention of one for Cinderella III, but hopefully the movie's popularity will have people demanding one!
Anyway, to me it sounds like the CD actually isn't done. She just says that they "have a Mermaid III album", but I didn't get from her that it was finished. Still, it's good news!
By the way, two people in that Little Ariel Forum I frequent have said that they know people who work at Disney and they have confirmed that the date will be November 20!

i would hope that it would be for this year! it would be too hard to wait for the release if it was nov.20 of 2008.

Well, it must mean November 20th of this year, as that is a Tuesday. In 2008, that is a Thursday, and it would make much sense to release a DVD on a Thursday.

Well, you are in luck as it is going to be released THIS YEAR!! !! Woooo!
Also, as the TinkerBell movie has been delayed, and that was aiming for a august time release date, I'm gussing they will really push this movie, to make up for the losses form TinkerBell. So thats great news for us then! To make up for the loss of TinkerBell, they are making a series of mini-movie 'tasters', to be released on the internet, but they may be tagged on to TLMIII DVD.
November can't come soon enough!

November can't come soon enough!
I totally agree! I think that another reason that The Little Mermaid 3 is being released on a Tuesday, is so they can put it on Itunes like the Little
Mermaid and the Fox and the Hound.
