The front page has just been updated with Amazon.com pre-order links for all sets in Wave 6. They are currently available at 30% off the SRP. Remember to support UD (at no extra cost to you) when pre-ordering through Amazon.

I have also been wondering how that works. If I simply click on an amazon link through UD, will whatever I purchase benefit the site even if I've been shopping online for 30 minutes without ever clicking back to UD?

Update on Disneyland 10th Anniversary Show

Someone asked a week or so ago if the new version of this show on the upcoming Disney Treasures set is uncut or the edited version previously issued. I had someone watch the master for me and they said the Tiki Room number is intact. I haven't seen it for myself, but she assures me this time they used the right version.

They also asked me to work on another project, so as soon as I can share that one I'll let you know what else to save up for. :)

Regards

Bill

Yes, the amount of time that can be passed while keeping the referral intact is about a day, I think. Now if your browser closes and you have to start anew then maybe that nullifies it. But if you come to Amazon from UD, then we should get the credit. Thanks a lot to you and others for the support!

And thanks, Bill, for the good news and for keeping us all in the loop!

Hello all! First post!!!

Let the speculation begin as to what product Bill Cotter is referring to!!!

My guess is it is Disneyland Anthology series related?!?

And Luke, thanks for fixing me email problem.

This is good to hear. I wasn't sure if that was one of the edited shows, but I remember reading about the missing Tiki Room scene now. One case where I don't mind double-dipping is when they are giving us the corrected version of something. That really just makes the first release annoying, ha. Now, I hope they eventually release the opening day program again with that Mouseketeer scene restored.

Hi Bill!

Thanks for the info on the Disneyland 10th Anniversary Show on the Your Host, Walt Disney DVD set. It's great that, since the show is being double dipped from the Disneyland USA DVD set, at least we get the complete show this time.

Wave 6 is still months away with exact contents not yet released in a press release, but you've already got me curious about Wave 7's contents!! Enjoy your work on the next project!!

I still regularly refer to your wonderful book "The Wonderful World Of Disney Television" and the supplement CD you offer through your website (billcotter.com). I recently just skimmed through it at random just for the fun information I tend to forget.

Take care ... Jerry Edwards

Bill Cotter was referring to the Disney anthology TV show "Disneyland 10th Anniversary", originally shown in January 1965. It is being repeated from the 2001 Wave 1 DVD set of the Walt Disney Treasures "Disneyland USA". That show was incomplete on that set, so - even though it is being repeated in this 2006 Wave 6 Walt Disney Treasures DVD set "Your Host, Walt Disney" - at least it appears the show will be complete this time.

You seem to have missed the point of Skippy's post. What he meant when he said 'let the speculation begin' was aimed at this comment Bill made.

Yes, that is what I was referring to. The work on another project comment......

Since, it's Bill "Wonderful World of Disney television" Cotter saying they've asked him for help with another project, I've come up with three potential projects that it could be.

1. Disneyland Anthology Series Season 1
2. Zorro
3. Disney Heroes Anthology {Texas John Slaughter, Gallegher, etc.}

Bill, by chance, when could you throw the dogs a bone?

Oh I hope I hope I hope! That would be fantastic! I would pay so much for them to release season sets, or even just more volumes, of the Disneyland TV series. And a better release of Zorro (I have season 1 from the DMC) would be nice in original black and white and with bonus features. I also would love your proposed "Heroes Anthology Series," but I would rather see that done in the Treasures set. It would make for a nice companion to "Elfego Baca and The Swamp Fox" set. Btw, I want more Elfego Baca!

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I believe we've seen the last of the Westerns, etc. through Disney treasures....

When I emailed Leonard Maltin about 5 months ago, to ask about when we could see the rest of Baca and the Swamp Fox, he said something to the effect of, "Disney doesn't think anyone has any interest in those older shows."

I do have hope for them to come out without all the bells and whistles on a discount line or something different, like the Legacy collection.

As far as the Swamp Fox goes, that series really goes down the toilet as it progresses, I've got an old copy of all the episodes, and by the end of the series, they are running around the old Western Town setup, adobe and all, and calling it Charleston...also, J. Pat O'Malley and Slim Pickens join the cast and the {sarcasm on} hilarity ensues! {sarcasm off}

I've never seen the rest of Elfego Baca, but when I do, I hope it doesn't implode on itself like the Swamp Fox.

That is incredibly sad to hear, Skippy. My favorite Treasures sets are not the animated shorts, but the Disneyland episodes. If there is a lack of interest, Disney could just produce those sets in more limited quantities, but still release them... because I wan't them. Lol. By the way, I do love my animated shorts Treasures sets, but my favorites are "Disneyland U.S.A," "Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox," "The Adventures of Spin and Marty," and "Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studios." I'm assuming that "Your Host, Walt Disney" and "The Hardy Boys" will join my list of favorites in December. I think I like them more because there's more variety. I get restless after two hours of Mickey Mouse cartoons. That's probably why my favorites of the shorts sets have been "Disney Rarities" and "Silly Symphonies." Anyways, I can't wait for wave 6 and hope to hear some announcememnts for wave 7 asap.

Goofystitch, I agree with you about the best Treasures being live-action, but especially episodes of Disneyland!!! There's just something about seeing Walt introduce something that gives it an edge over the other stuff.
I recently purchased the Daniel Boone Disneyland series on VHS through amazon.com...it's only four episodes and the can be found used for about 20 bucks total for all the volumes. I definitely helped me get my fix of Walt's Western's while waiting for the treasures. You might want to check it out.

Wow. I didn't realize Daniel Boone was ever released. I will most certainly pick them up in the near future. Thanks alot, skippy.

Well, apparently we are getting the Hardy Boys, at least, so there will be some older shows.

Since Disney did release that one WDT set of Elfego Baca and the Swamp Fox I guess poor sales would have to be the reason why Maltin said what he did.
