After waiting for Itunes to get Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie", I finally gave up and bought her whole CD, and of course the day after I opened it the song pops up on the purchase page :x . I also got a Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies CD, I think it's Take a Break. It's a punk covers CD. I'm already tired of both of them, that's sorta what I hate about buying CD's, I guess they'll be fun again in a few weeks.

Probably the only CD that'll let me get away to listening Christmas music outside of the holidays...

I've pick up two CDs in the last few weeks.

The first was Australia's Bob Evans (nee Kevin Mitchell of Jebediah) and his new solo record, Suburban Songbook. Nice melodic guitar rock/folk from the singer-songwriter.

I also picked up a 'best of', something I swore I would never do. But this was too tempting.

The Replacements - Don't You Know Who I Think I Was? is a career-spanning retrospective, with two new songs, from the 1980s post-punkers. It is an impressive collection, even though I think there are some album tracks that could have gone on there. That's why I don't typically buy 'best ofs'. But hey, two new songs and having them all in one place in nice. Highly recommended as an intro to the band, by the way!

After buying The Replacements 'best of' the other day, I was in the mood for more Paul Westerberg (lead singer) so I got:

<img src="http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/B ... MBZZZ_.jpg" align=left> Besterberg - The Best of Paul Westerberg: Aside from the title, which is brilliant in and of itself, this is a damn fine overview of the man's solo career. It does skip a few periods, such as his recent Folker album, but offers a nice selection nonetheless. I don't normally buy 'best ofs', but that's two in a row for me. I'm slipping in my old age.

The other record I bought was Wilco - A Ghost is Born.

Here I Am / Marion Rav(e)n
Well, it's different than her M2M stuff, certainly much more mature and angry (although, I always thought M2M had mature lyrics, even if some of the tracks were based on typical "pop" melodies). It also has a "deeper", darker sound on some of the tracks. Another argument for artistic growth and change when bands split up? (although I'm not sure if this is better in this case).

Standout tracks include the title track, "Here I Am" as well as "End of Me" and (my personal favourite) "Six Feet Under". I'm still undecided on some of the tracks. Perhaps they will grow on me.

How is it? I've been wanting to get it but I already have her new single so I'm not sure if the whole cd is good enough to buy.

I really enjoy the entire CD, but I suppose you have to take the good with the bad -- if you catch my drift.

Many of the songs I "dislike" are starting to grow on me with repetition however, so I would recommend it, especially if you find it with low-price intact as I have.

I went to the mall today to get the Tarzan: The Broadway Musical Soundtrack, but it was $15.99 and I wasn't sure if I wanted it for that much money. Instead I came upon The Lion King "Special Edition" Double Pack that was released a while ago and was at the same price of Tarzan.

On the way home we stopped to visit my mom's friend and with my sister's luck, she got bitten by some sort of bug. Unfortunately, she's allergic to such bites so we rushed to Target to get some ointment or whatever and I found Tarzan: The Broadway Musical on SALE for only $11.98!!!! Yay!!!! My mom was upset that I bought 2 CDs in one day and said I was turning into my brother since he buys DVDs all the time. :P

Anyhow here they are:

Thanks, I think I'm going to pick it up as soon as I see it for a good price. I'm the same, the more I listen to some songs the better I like them.

That double pack says "Special Edition" on the cover but then pictures the original artwork for the soundtrack. Can you tell me which CD is inside it- the original soundtrack or the Special Edition?

The original version because this set came out about 1999-2000.
