But I wouldn't be surprised if the european cover will be the same as the us version . We had have before 2 covers for the lion king 2 the us version and the european version, but in the end the european version was the same as the us. at least here in holland that is.
I think the UK cover is 'our' final cover... I like that cover!

Jeeh, but from the lion king 2 we also got a dutch version, of the scandanavian version, but in the stores it was the same as the US version, but time will tell, right?

There's a review of the UK disc in one of the UK DVD Magazines. I only browsed it in a shop, but it doesn't really say much. I think the film got an 8 and the extras a 9.
However, something did catch my eye. All of the special features are introduced by Patrick Stewart. Apparently this is because he is providing a voice for Bambi 2.

Hmm . . . maybe he's voicing the "Great Prince of the Forest"? I guess that means the Prince will take Bambi to an organic Cerebro, where he can locate other deers with his mind. I can see it now . . .
"My mother was shot! Who killed her?"
"Bambi, there are some things the mind needs to discover for itself."

Patrick Stewart was already rumoured to be the voice of the Great Prince of the Forest since last year. I guess it's final now... There was also a rumour about Alexander Gould (voice of Nemo) doing the voice of Bambi. I'm thinking this one really might see theatres...

On the subject of the European and American covers, I prefer the European since it is very colorful and cute, and the American is slightly, ever so slightly more

...masculine...Anyways, the only thing I do not like about the Euro cover is that Thumper and Flower are staring into the oblivion and Bambi is IN YOUR FACE....with a butterfly of course.
O! Who cares anyway, they are all great and I cannot wait until March!
**This March/October Platinum release thing works in my favor

30.March- birthday, October- will have enough money or could wait until Christmas....just kidding

I think that the us cover is better because the other one is a little too cluttered. Kind of an eye sore to some, but it still looks pretty nice.

This is not on the subject of cover art, but I would like to know a couple of things:
- When they say "and many many more..." does it include an audio commentary?
- Is "Walt's Annotated Bambi" like the commentaries on Snow White or Fantasia, where there are audio clips of Walt Disney, or is it a documentary kind of thing?
-Is there going to be a collecter's box set like aladdin or lion king, or is it going to be alone?

Fantasia Man: "Walt's Annonated Bambi" is supposedly acting as the commentary, providing recordings of story sessions while watching the film. And no, there won't be a box set - my personal guess is that Disney will reserve those to the '90s films in the Platinum lineup, meaning TLM is the only one left that may get one.

Hey Jack, thanks for posting the reply, it's very helpful, & with the box set, I saw on the Disney online store a set that includes 2 plushes (Bambi & Flower) 4 lithographs, & a pin are availible with the dvd. That I guess is probably the only thing close to a collector's set, so I think I am going to preorder it some time in the next couple of days.
Thanks again

Oh, by the way, could an audio commentary be hidden somewhere on the dvd, like Sleeping Beauty, or is that it?

Was Sleeping Beauty's hidden? I guess you mean they didn't mention it on the packaging. That's not the case with Bambi though. It's quite clear that "Walt's Annonated Bambi" is the commentary. In addition, we've already seen menu shots and there's no option for any commentary besides that.

Not only was it not on the packaging, it was hidden in the features, in the set-up section or somewhere like that. well....at least theres commentary on bambi

well, final print colors are almost never like the the colors on screen, it depends of the file color scheme actually
