There's going to be a new song titled "Special Spice" written by PJ Morton and performed by Anika Nani Rose.
With a new story, there was a need for new music to go along with it. Imagineers worked with Grammy-winner, PJ Morton, in New Orleans to score a lyrical love letter to the city for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. These recording sessions resulted in both new renditions of favorite tunes from the film and an all-new, original song, “Special Spice” with vocals by Anika Noni Rose, the original voice of Princess Tiana and Disney Legend. This is a new chapter for Tiana as she grows her business and as a thank you to her community for their support, she’s throwing a party during Mardi Gras season. When it turns out there’s been a mix up in the preparations and she’s missing a band, Tiana invites us on a journey through the bayou discovering both friends familiar and anew for this last ingredient – musical critters! After the thrilling drop, you’ll soon approach Tiana and friends at her mansion, where Louis conducts a jazz band filled with all the critters we met on our journey. They play “Special Spice” along with Prince Naveen playing his ukulele and Prince Ralphie the drums. We’ve discovered the “Special Spice” making this joyful, one-of-a-kind celebration complete is in fact YOU. The melody continues as we approach Mama Odie, who acknowledges that this party wouldn’t be what it is without you. Not only does the latest episode of “We Call It Imagineering” feature a sneak peek of this catchy song, but the full version of “Special Spice” will also release on Walt Disney Records this Friday, May 31 across all streaming platforms!

Cute song! Better than 90% of songs from recent Disney films.

This ride is looking extremely well done.

Damn... I thought I was going to hate it... but I heard it, and it's great. I think it fits the tone of the movie and the ride perfectly.

I'm looking forward to going on this ride when it opens!

It looks really good and the use of screens is very smart. It doesn't look bad and it gives profundity to the ride. I just hope that they have made a classic Tiana outfit because some people might not recognize her with the new ones.

While I didn’t hate it, it’s definitely a down grade. The final drop isn’t scary or ominous.... just “Let’s get to the party!”.
No wonder Tony Baxter quit the project...

But my boyfriend and I will experience it in the flesh later this year, so my opinion may change. The final scene did look good, but the song can’t compare to Zip—A-Dee-Doo-Dah and I miss the riverboat.

And did I miss handsome Prince Naveen? I didn’t see him.... but I’m sure I missed a lot!

It looks beautiful. It looks like they are justifying a waterfall in the bayou by “shrinking” you down? I rather that than just not addressing it at all. The animatronics are amazing. I understand the criticisms about Disney trying to soften the suspense with the final drop, but I think that was necessary when they chose a Princess IP to retheme the ride. I’m disappointed they’ve used CGI to render the characters during the screen parts, but not surprised (Tokyo’s new Peter Pan ride did the same thing). And the music!! I loved hearing the old songs and the new song, “Special Spice.” That final scene is really impressive. The early part of the ride made me hungry, and from what I’ve heard the exit gift shop will sell beignet mixes and hot sauces— so smart move!

It seems like the best time to ride will be at night for the lighting elements, but I did that once on Splash Mountain and regretted it— when you’re wet, you want that Florida sun to dry you out!

I’m hoping to get out to WDW next year. I made sure to do Splash Mountain on my last visit, in 2022.

I honestly can't believe people are complaining about the ride. Even if it is a reskin, I think it looks pretty amazing!

Parts of it look appealing, especially the animatronics and soundtrack, but it does look like they've cut corners to rush it along, which they really shouldn't have. I understand why the ride should have been ready for the summer season, but it needed a little more time and money to be the true successor I was hoping for.

What I didn't like about the movie is that they changed all the costumes. I expected to see more signature outfits and all of the humans look very different from the movie.
Tiana wears the same suit in all the scenes and in the last one she wears a gown that looks more like an indian costume than a gown from the 20s or a Disney princess gown. I expected something more similar to the gown that Tiana wears at the end of the movie or even the white one. She would look amazing in this gown and it would be more iconic because that's how she imagined Tiana's place.
The other part of the ride that I didn't like is the frogs part. It looks very cheap compared to others parts of the ride.

I think the animated Tiana is lovely but imo, the Tiana animatronic looks like Oprah Winfrey. Not pretty at all...

Someone posted a 360 view POV ridethrough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlgDZmVPD6I

If you ask me, I think this feels like a better ride-through video than Disney's own front-view "POV" video. Because with this one, you aren't stuck just looking forward. But even then, I'm sure neither video does the ride any justice.

The ride looks so charming, the Finale looks gorgeous! :)
But jail to whoever pitched the idea to give Tiana those ugly pants

I've seen some merchandise on Instagram and the products that I saw look really good. They are going to release a new figurine by Steven Thompson, a plush doll, a mug, a loungefly and other staff.
In all the merchandise Tiana appears whit the pants.

I saw the new merch, too. It all looks really cute!

There is a rumor that the Pecos Bill’s restaurant (Tex-Mex food) in Magic Kingdom will be turned into a Tiana’s Palace. Which makes me a little sad because Pecos Bill’s is really the only quick service in MK that I like, but I’m also really interested to see how Disney could retheme the restaurant to TPATF. Plus, if Tiana has a permanent ride at WDW, her beignets need a permanent home, too!!

There is already a Tiana’s Palace in Disneyland.

I’m not a big QS person (my boyfriend and I prefer TS), but our favorite at MK is Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square.
